This morning I telephoned the customs agent, who handling my seized 187 directly. the customs were apparently comvinced that it was an original and they wanted proof that is was bought in the Netherlands, otherwise I had to pay a lot of taxes. I rang the guy and told him it could not be an original one bacause I traded it with a friend who traveled a lot to asia. I told him that he bought the watch in Hong Kong. The reason why it was sent to Hong Kong was because it had to be repaired at the bezelmarkers (reglued). I said that the friend had the watch trough customs without a problem. The customs agent told me that it was allowed to take up to three watches in person through customs. Using the post or another way of sending it over the border is illigal and will result in seizure of the watch. He had a picture of my watch there at hand and told me it was an exceptional piece, and if it was not an original one it had to be a display model from panerai itself (sure ) If that was the case I would have to show him a paper from the manufacterer (panerai) telling them it was made with aproval of panerai Otherwise the watch would remain in customs and will be handed over to "De Domeinen" and then be destroyed If I did not like it, I could take it to court. I guess I wont do that.

i forgot to say that I got it from a trade A MS word is the last option, I prefer a real invoice from a store or trader or so. if they want to check it, it has got to hold up.

my 187, which I got from a watch trade with another member, was seized by customs. I now got a letter that stated "after closer inspection by an Intelectual brand expert they (customs) concluded that my seized 187 is a real one. I now have to proof that the watch has been bought in the Netherlands and has been sent over to hong kong for repairs and back to me. is there someone who has an bill or invoice of a watch that could pass a bill from a 187 ? maybe I still can get the watch back without paying a lot taxes. Imagine the quality of the 187 if they dont see if its a fake (maybe they do see its a fake and want to trick me into lying?) what do you guys think??

recently I deceided to put up a few watches for sale. One of them was a Swiss Daytona with seconds @ 6. since I was fallen for the 187, I also wanted to trade my daytona for a loast generation 187. ThomasNG was very interested in my watch and he also has a 187 that I wanted. He wanted to know how much money he had to add for my watch. I told him that is was fine to trade my daytona for his 187, but if he felt guilty doing that he could add a little gift for my newborn son. I sent my watch to him en he sent his to me and told me he had added a present for my son. Admin received my daytona pretty quick an he was very happy with it, he told me had to polish it but after that is was perfect he told me. I did not receive anything so I had to wait a little bit longer. Untill my girl rang me at work telling me that a package from Hong Kong had arrived. This was the moment, my 187 had arrived and I felt a butterfly in my belly. The butterfly crashed and burned directly after my girl told me that the package weight close to nothing!! she also told me that the package had been opened and retaped. Damn, this was disapointing! I told her not to open the package, because I wanted top see it with my own eyes. When I came home later that day, I examined the package and it had indeed been opened, but by customs! Strangely the envelope had also been opened from the other side and was resealed. this was clearly noticeable because of half of the date stamp from the hong kong post did not align anymore with his other half. I opened the envelope to see if there was something in it. I saw a letter and took ik out. It was from Dutch post, stating that illigal goods were found in my package and were seized by customs and were going to be destroyed! Weird, customs seize my goods and the post sends me a letter stating that my goods are seized by customs, but without proof from customs. On the envelope itself, it has a custom stamp, stating "free of tax" On the website of the Dutch customs it says: that a maximum of three counterfit watches may be imported without, being seized of procecution of the owner. There was no contact telephone number on it, only a faxnumber. I took another look in the envelope and found money that I did not recognised directly, it were Australian Dollars. Admin told me he was going to sent something, but I thought he was going to sent a little fluffy rabbit or another childs toy. when I counted the money I was overwelmed by the ammount of this gift from a stranger from a country at the other side of the world. It was a totall of almost 250 euros!! it was a strange feeling, my watch being seized or stolen, and the nice gift from Admin for my son. It were two conflicting feelings. I contacted Admin and told him what I discoverd when I got home. He was very upset by this and felt really bad. He filed a complaint at the Hong Kong Post and I did the same here in Holland. At least we can rule out the theft of the watch when customs have a record of this. Its not his fault offcourse but he received my watch perfectly and that made him feel more worse then he allready felt I think.

Admin reading your post sends chills up my spine and i feel really sorry for you that you have to go through all this at the same time. its weird to look at the australian dollars on my desk, which you sent as a gift for my little boy Ari. I was really overwelmed by the idea and sureley the amount. after all the original trade was a watch for a watch. Bad things happen to good people. good things will come back to you, I am sure. In the mean time dont worry about the seized 187, look at it when you have the time. family comes always first. its like you said to me: Patience is a virtue in the mean time take care ans my thoughts are with you.

it must be a very scary experience to be robbed like that. the world is a dangerous place. looking at all the bad things that have recently happened to you, something very beautifull must be coming your way. i hope they catch the thieves.

@artoero havent tried function yet, hahaha @ JTB it was only 22,50 euro p/month for 2 years. For this 22,50 i may call for 150 minutes or sent 150 sms all the internet/email traffic goes through my router/accepoint at home and at work. This saves a lot of money!

check out the new nokia E61. i got it free with a 2 year vodafone subscribsion it has a lot of handy network, internet, email and other connection features. it is surprisingly fast. i only have it for a couple of days but i really like it a lot! normaly, at work i had to sit down at a desk to browse the forum. now i can do the same, without leaving the store or counter! with all the bad luck i have lately, i just hope i dont drop it.

yes it is a diffrent daytona. I asked Admin if he received my daytona and he told me that he received it in perfect working order. (ps mine was not a 7760 DW vintage)

thanks for the friendly words ryyannon, glad you like the avatar. The strap came with the panarai watch i bought last year from a guy in greece. he told me that strap came from Don. I read the name before, but I dont recal him as an active poster/member selling straps.

I am so proud of my wife. we got our first son. his name is Ari. he was born on the 10 of july. he is in good health (we where so scared because my wife had a toxoplasmose in the first months) i wont explaim all the bad things that could have happened, but we were very lucky after twenty hours of labour the doctors deceided to take her into surgery and get the baby out. i was there during the operation. check out my cool watch in the pic.

i deceided to give my old used Pam strap a second life on my U-Boat watch. (the watch is 53 mm) and you know what, it looks pretty cool I think the strap looks a bit pale from wear, but suits the watch. check out the pics. do you guys have U-Boat watches in the US? its a pretty good deal (2 year warranty), waterproof. nice box and it comes standard with two straps (brown and black) and with two buckles (a clasp and a normal one) all this for 415 euro (around 500 US dollar)

I bought my submariner in amsterdam at "van gelder" 6 or seven years ago for 7400 guilders (3360 euro) it was brandnew and unworn. he always has watches like this. for example a new sea dweller for 3850 euro http://www.polshorloges.net/polshorloges/r...r683.php?Id=477 give him a ring an see if hee still has a submariner for you.

I was loading my car this morning with some gifts for my parents, who celabrate their 65th and 60th birthday today, when i saw that SOMEONE KEYED MY CAR this night!!! unbelievable, I live in a small village in the south part of the netherlands. we never have stuff like this over here. they started at the taillight and ended at the side mirror! damn, I feel powerless here. if I could just know a name or so. I feel violated! my car was even parked in front of a church!!

you should not worry about the dial, it looks great. you should better worry about the hands, they are too thin and come from a submariner. the hands should look like this http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/yachtmas...view/yacht2.jpg I changed the hands on mine through one of the members on the previous forum. costed me somethin like 20 dollars or so.
