  1. ...sure there are agents who are working "undercover". Only LVHM (they own Zenith, Tag Heuer, Hublot, etc.) has over 300 agents and they put over 1000 people in jail because of reps last year (if it
  2. There was an interesting article in FT about Rolex and it
  3. If you hit the watch from the top, the glass may indeed protect the bezel. However in the majority of cases someone hits a watch from the side. As there is a sharp edge, you hit both the bezel and the glass. This is exactly what happened to my Ti watch with the same glass design as Rolex: Now there is a scratch on the case AND a small scratch on the glass, because its sharp edge was hit. If the watch surface was flat, I
  4. If I understand correctly, it means that Rolex is saying: "It
  5. TOP SECRET TOP SECRET TOP SECRET TOP SECRET TOP SECRET TOP SECRET TOP SECRET This is from the top secret business report of the future telling watch company: "Our head of research and development Mr. Milton K., former road worker and plumber, has been working on a new moonphase module for the ETA 2824-2 movement unsuccessfully in the past four and a half years. In order to limit the vast costs of development for this new module we have decided to take the non-working masterpiece of Mr. Milton K. and cross it with a power reserve complication from Dubois-D

  8. Well, it turns out that there are tons of great reps and basically I do agree with the lists above. I was just thinking about making one more list with ten watches (in no particular order). These are also considered as super reps by one member or the other and are very close to the original: 1. FM Salmon Dial Casablanca with the same movement as the gen. 2. MBW/MBK Patek Nautilus 3. MBW/MBK Patek Aquanut 4. Rolex Correct Hand Stack GMT Master II 5. Cartier Santos 100 - unfortunatelly the rwg dial project was not realized 6. Porsche Flat 6 7. IWC 3717 8. Graham Chrono Fighter 9. Chopard MM 10. Tag Heuer Link Chrono +1. IWC Slevin/Cousteau Diver

  10. Well, yes, you clearly know the family and the family gossip... :phone:
  11. Excellent post - thanks for writing down your thoughts. "Reps are junk in point of quality and quality control !" - This is one of the reasons, why I

  13. Welcome here! I can only warn you: This place is full of nice people and the hobby may grow on you very fast.
  14. One of my favourite brands is Eterna (presently owned by Porsche). They had a very important invention, which became a kind of industry standard: The ball-bearing rotor. The Eterna logo is also based on this invention. There is a movement called Calibre 3800, which is somehow generally unknown - or at least I never read or hear about it:
  15. Of course Corgi, he is my all time idol. And his masculine mate with that NORA necklace too! Cherry, Cherry Lady...
