  1. Just a thought...I've been checking out eBay for 19mm straps. there's a seller there whose selling straps by a company called Accessories. They have 19mm gator straps (supposedly list price of $300...but you know how that goes) for $50 including shipping. Also some ostrich ones for $25. I ordered one of the ostrich ones just to get a bit of color contrast and see about quality. I'll let you know how it is once I get it if you like.

  2. Jurgenk:

I'm assuming that this is the Swiss 2892 version. I have one with a black dial that I got from Josh. The Zigmeister also serviced the movement and lumed the dial and hands. The bracelet on that model were garbage and mine kept losing screws till I just gave up. So, I have mine on a DiModell 19mm black gator strap which is very nice. Good luck with your hunt.

  3. I don't think you need the conversion kit if you have the rubber strap. The kit contains the 4 plots (the little metal things-2 per side) the case screws and the long screw and cap the connect the strap to the plots. You should have these already.

You'll just have to unscrew the long screw that connects the band to the plots on each side and remove the rubber strap. Of course you'll need to see if the deployant fits. Otherwise you'll need a buckle.

    Hope this is clear

  4. As an FYI...I bought one of the 24mm suppaparts mesh straps that people are buying for their Ploprops and fitted it to my SOH....perfect fit. I do have an extra clasp, so I'm gonna see how hard a project that is. But for $50 it's really nice and fits my 6.75" wrists!

  5. Snowball:

the MBW/MBK ROO comes with seconds @ 9. I have one and sent it to The Zigmeister who threw in a Swiss 7750 with seconds still at 9. Cost was not too bad (I have around $700 total in it). The good news is that the MBW has the slow beat asian 7750 in it which has hands that are interchangeable with the Swiss version. As Delta mentioned what you want is possible, but expensive and you have to wonder whether or not it's worth it. It isn't to me. How many people really know seconds @ 12 from seconds at 9? BTW, with the MBW, the dail is correct...the 12 subdial is laid out like a seconds dial, etc.

  6. Lardlad:

hopefully I'm not being too basic, but what you're looking for is an Omega Planet Ocean chrono....it is also available in the non chrono version in either 42.5 or 45 mm. If you pursue the chrono version you will get an asian 7750 movement. Check whether it is the 21.6 or the 28.8 version. You want the 28.8 one. In the non chrono version you can go from asian 21j to swiss ETA movement and the price will reflect your choice. You will also have a choice of black or orange bezel.

Look around and check the dealer section....if they have a catalogue there generally will be pricing. But the golden rule here is "first choose the dealer...then choose the watch" Your enjoyment of this hobby will be dependent on the dealer(s) you use. As you explore the site you'll see a section for dealer reviews...READ THEM.

Finally, the Planet Oceans come up fair frequently in the member's sales area. If your patient you can buy a preowned watch and save a few bucks (of course if this is your first rep, waiting is not the easiest thing in the world)......and keep reading.

    BTW welcome

  7. T:

Welcome////looks like another storm is headd toward Florida. I have a house in N. Florida and it seems that the National Hurricane Center website has been my most frequent visit....

As to where to buy good reps....scan down a bit on the site and you will see a heading of "watch collectors"...these are all dealers and have been vetted through the members and board admin. You will also see reviews of transactions, etc. As you read and review posts, you'll see a lot of refrences to various dealers, so you'll get a good idea as to their practices...

There is also a section of member's sales which is a good area to check...

    good luck

  8. Interesting pick....I'm reserving judgement until after the convention and I see how she does. Remember, Obama doesn't have much track record to run on but he does have a remarkable ability to sell a vision....let's see how well she can sell her vision. I think we might be surprised....

One more thing...this "heartbeat away" stuff...if you think McCain is gonna die in the next 4 years...I'd advise you (republican or not) to not vote for him.....

  9. I'm not sure of the lug width, but I think it's 22mm. If so, Panatime has a black gator with orange stitching that looks nice..... www.panatime.com

just checked, they also have it in black leather with orange stitching:

    http://www.panatime.com/22wagelemain3.html

OK, just looked at your post...so it's 20mm....well they have the gator and the leather plus carbon fiber in black with orange stitch.....

    hope this helps

  10. I was there about a year ago. Yaron has given you the correct stall number. At the time I was there, I purchased an A/P ROO and a PP Natilus. But you have to ask. None of the branded reps were displayed in the cases. They had a fairly good selection , but don't expect everything. BTW, the stall next door is owned by the same people and they have purses in case you want to pick up something for the wife/girlfriend.

    good luck

  11. I know it's not on your list, but I'd do a 112H on a bracelet assuming the daylight is on a strap...you can mix and match and the bracelet will be cheaper buying on a watch then buying it seperately. You'll then have two very distinct wathes....

  12. Welcome....

Andrew is trusty, joshua is perfectclones.can't tell if you've located their websites or just seen the names bandied around...if you need the sites check in the dealer sections or ask.....you might want to check out silix (www.silix-prime.com)...a bit slower but a bit cheaper and they take paypal...

Chanel J12 is a nice choice in black or white..man or woman's size...there are three levels of quality all relating to the ceramic...$300 will get you "level two" which is a good choice...

I was in an AD the other day and the salesperson had a 40mm PAM that looked great....

victoria sems to like the 44mm, so she may chime in...

Cartiers are fairly abundant, so if you like them, they are out there...most popular is the Santos 100, but it is a BIG watch...seems as if the square watches wear bigger...I had a tank americque (sp?) which I gave to my niece and she loves it...

    just my thoughts....
