If you don't love this combo, you need to get your pulse checked! It is STUNNING in person. I have always loved CF straps with blue stitching on 253s but a thick beefy super soft strap with FAT stitching blows a CF strap out of the water. I special ordered this strap and can't say enough how much I love this combo!!!!! It has a Strap Culture buckle on it but the strap is not from Strap Culture.

The GMT hand makes one rotation around the dial per 24 hour day so read GMT time based on the 24 hour bezel dial rather than the 12 hours dial. For example, if the GMT hand is pointing between 2 and 3 on the regular dial with the minute hand on the 6 it's 2:30 regular time but 5:30 GMT time.

I figured if plan A and plan B didn't work, I would simply crush the thing into submission.

I wanted to take the AR off my 111H so I took it apart and tried to pop the crystal with my thumbs. That sucker was in tight and wouldn't move so I went into McGyver mode! Drove down to Home Depot and came back with some goodies for plan A and plan B. Here is the victim, my 111H with crappy single AR that is so strong and opaque that it's hard to see the dial. Plan A: Abracadabra... alakazam.... So easy a caveman could do it! Took the AR off and pressed it back in with my fingers but if I needed a press there was always plan B.

Easy fix, you just have to bend the bar or plate that the clasp rests on. Hard to explain in words but since you can't bend the clasp, if you bend the part that the clasp latches into... you can adjust it accordingly. Make sure you really look at it and think about your bend before you do it.

Yes, fast lenses are a must for nice bokeh and shooting in low light conditions with natural light.

I have rubber on my SA and love it. The shiny band overpowered the watch, now with the rubber strap my attention goes straight to the beautiful watch head.

The Nikkor 18-200 VR and Nikkor 18-55 VR are fantastic lenses. You can't go wrong with either, they are lightweight, very wide and very sharp. If you need the reach, go with the 200. If you need a close min focusing distance for watch shots, get the 18-55 VR. My suggestion is to get both! My 10 year old son took this with a D60 and 18-55 VR. This is his first watch photo ever, the watch is sitting on his lap in the passenger seat and I am driving 75 mph. Not too shabby IMO. Here's another one he took under the same conditions.

I disagree on the Fiddy case and crystal. I just got my DSN 217 and the case is EXACTLY the same as the 0117 case that I have on my non DSN Fiddy and the DSN crystal has too much distortion. Here is a shot of my DSN 217 with my non DSN 127, from any angle the cases are identical, the case back is the same 0117 caseback and the increased distortion is visible in the 217 if you compare the 12 and the 6 on both watches.

Bought this from a member from Europe, couldn't tell you what brand it is but I like it.

You get what you pay for. I bought 2 watch boxes recently for under $100 each and both arrived damaged. I opened one of them 3-4 times and the hinge screws fell out.

Gen rubber strap came in today and it kicks a$$. The polished SS band was a bit much for an already flashy watch, the rubber strap tones it down considerably and gives the SA a perfect blend of bling and sport. Love the look! Noe this piece is done... gen dial + lello dw + gen hands would make it perfect but I'll stop here. That's too bad, I thought double AR would have made the crystal completely disappear. I have Chief's double AR on by HBB and I literally can't see the crystal 90% of the time.

Yours has double AR and still has the coke bottle effect?
