Hi all,
I know that many here have lots of expreience with gen and fake watches.
I am looking at potentially buying this secondhand 2008 full size speedy moon watch.
I have no reason to believe it is a fake but thought I would check with you.
Below are the photos - any opinions on it ?
Thanks

I tried e-mailing perfect clones and the guy said he doesn't have it and just said to look at other watches on his site. I am not a scammer, just someone who knows what he wants. In fact there are two watches I have found that I am hoping to find reps for, one being that Cartier, the other a Patek Phillippe, but the websites linked here don't have it. They have models close to it (well not the Cartier, but the Patek Phillippe). Sorry if I jumped the gun with a rude accusation. The point was you didn't need to go to each of those websites and list what types of Cartier's they have. I am just finding that when I see a watch I like, I can't find the rep for it. It's quite frustrating.
I truly want to buy a rep of a watch I want.
Have you tried Chris at EuroTimez ?

Pappy,
Have you tried emailing a few of the trusted dealers, as kindly listed by muck to see if they cn source one for you.
When you email them, include a photo of (or a link to) the watch you are looking for.
If they don't have it on their website they may still be able to get one for you.
Ask them to email you a photo of it when they find it just to make sure it i exactly the one you want.
If it exists, one of them should be able to find it for you.

I will be going at a fair that will be hosted in the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition center - 88 Bang Na-Trat Rd.
I recently stayed in the JW Marriott - great hotel with great service.
I also understand the renaissance is very good and a little more central. I haven't stayed there but one of the guys I wa swith at the Marriott said it was just as good.

I have just received the 2008 Black Bond SMP for my brother. Super quick delivery - posted Friday from HK and delivered in the UK today
The watch looks exactly like the photo, feels like a good weight. I'll let my brother see how he gets on with it.
So far so good - fast delivery, looks as described and $88 delivered !

thanx freddy- do you think that's a reasonable price?
The price is not bad considering you bought it from a dealer. Private sellers are asking for money around that mark as well.
See here: Elite Deal Seeker

I have also bought from him and also met him in person - nice guy. Can't go wrong.

There is also this site: Watch Obsession
I haven't bought any straps from there but I have bought a Bergeon tool that was delivered quickly

Shundi, a good place to enquire is on WatchUseek or TimeZone.
There are a lot of vinatge watch collectors on there who could help.
Be careful they don't poach it from you though

I am not sure whoich one I have - new or old ?
Does anyone know which ones are used in BK's watches ? I order in May 08 and received it at the end of July 08, does this make it a new one (and therefore a 603 part no.) ?

Hi all,
I came across this site Watchmaker9 and wasn't sure what it is.
Is it a rep dealer of some sort ?
I get the impression they build their own watches (look like Frankens) as opposed to your standard mass china rep sellers.
If they are, I am surprised I haven't come across more references to them here.
Can someone provide some additional info please.

2) What are the Rolex part numbers I should be looking for to ensure I get the correct parts ?
I am better with the early vintage GMTs, but I believe the 1675x GMTII uses the 6mm 24-603 crown & 24-6030 tube. Double-check with By-Tor before ordering anything, since he is the expert on the modern GMT.
Interesting....the 24-603 is the same crown used on the Datejust and President and my chart shows this to be the case. However, I believe that the new model with the ceramic bezel uses a larger crown.
Mine is the old model, see picture below:

Freddy, thank you for your prompt and comprehensive reply.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction regarding the parts.
Looking at Freddy's response to question 3 where he highlights that the complexity of the mod depends on the state of the watch, I would be interested to know from anyone who has done this mod to one of BK's GMT's as to whether it was easy or hard e.g. was the tube cemented, did the case need drilling or heating etc ?
Also, reading Freedy's response, I am a little unsure as to whether I should try this mod myself. Does anyone know of a good watch modder in the EU ?
Is Tribal any good and if so, where is he based ?
Thanks guys.

I like looking at my collection in teh watchbox but I much prefer wearing them

Laz,
I read your post with fascination and awe at your travels through rep-dom.
The composition of your photos was particularly stunning and really showed the watches off well.
Looking forward to hearing what you will be doing next

Hi all,
Having gone through a mad phase of trying to sell my BK Transformer, I have now fallen in love with it again.
Re-reading By-Tor's reviews saved me from a mistake I know I would have lived to regret
After a few messages back and forth with By-Tor, I now want to change the crown and tube on my BK Transformer and was hoping you could help.
By-Tor believes I need the 6mm twin-lock crown and tube, the same as that for the ExpI, ExpII and GMT 16710.
So a few questions:
1) Can you tell me where I can source a gen set of these ?
2) What are the Rolex part numbers I should be looking for to ensure I get the correct parts ?
3) Is it an easy mod i.e. does the tube fit straight in to the BK Transformer or does it need drilling ?
Any help is greatly appreciated guys.
Thanks

Chris is great and reliable. Do not worry, he may be busy with life and not able to get back to you. I am sure he will respond soon.
For future reference, Precvious Time is a great UK dealer. Another UK dealer is Homer although he is not as active on teh forum as Chris and PT.

Congratulations - this is one of my favourite watches. I have a quartz rep version (wanted a reliable working chrono).
It is one of the watches I would consider buying as a gen.
Wear it well

I don't know the dealer you refer to but I would recommend you use one of the dealers approved by this forum.
Many people have bought from them and you can guarantee you will get a good quality watch, whatever you choose. Take a stroll down to the dealer section.
If you are from the UK, there are some good UK based dealers (see the dealer section) such as Precious Time and Homer.
EuroTimez is reliable as well but usually ships from the far east.
Other non-uk/EU dealers that sell many watches to members are Trustytime, Ruby and Pure Time.
Always ask for photos and full spec for what you are getting.
Good luck
