Are you confusing manual winding, with automatic rotor winding.
No movement winds with the crown manually in both directions.
Some automatic movements are bi-directional in winding.
See my signature below, basics 101 and 102 should cover it, as well as the glossary.

I HAVE A ROLEX DAY/DATE THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN THE SPECIAL SERVICE TREATMENT THAT COSTS $120 BY jOSHUA and my watch will not wind AT ALL,AND IT GAINS 20 SECONDS A DAY ANY SUGGESTIONS?
-
I would not buy a rep for 4k if it does not have the underlying value.
Over @trc Tom sold a pimp-[censored] bling rolex daydate, solid gold with rolex movement and real diamonts, for similar amount of cash joshua asks for his.
I've seen solid 18k gold case kits for 1600-1800 usd (just the case + saphire).
I like Aligoats statement ``for that kinda money, I'd spend a few more dollars and get a gen.``
THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR REPLIES,I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT,BEST LEAVE ALON AND JUST STICK TO NORMAL REPS. WHICH FROM jOSHUA i FIND VERY GOOD,ITS JUST A CSE OF HOW LONG THE GOLD PLATING LASTS,IF IT LASTS 2 YEARS,THATS FINE WITH ME

I had one a while ago before gold was so expensive. Sorry I sold it. Where have you seen them for sale?
Joshua has them listed on his web ,page 4 of the Rolex day date section $4299

Hello,
I am interested in one of the above, and just wondered if any member had purchased and could give me an opinion.
Thank you

It might also simply be that the caseback is loose (they nearly always are) and moisture from your sweat has entered the case. I would open her up and let it dry then get some silicon grease to lube the caseback O ring and do it up snug.
Just in case anyone else has this problem,I cured mine without having to take the back off,all I did was to loosen the winder on the Tag so as to let air in,then I placed the watch in a sealed container to-gether with one of those silicon gel packs that absorb moisture (They pack them in dvd players ect) and that did the trick,it took two days but now its fine.

Take a Google picture search on "CJF2114", and you will see that this is the corect model number for the Blue dial Link Chronograh.
"YD6538" is the individual serial number, I assume.
Good choice, wear it well!
No I think it is part of the model number,if you go to the official wedsite of Tag Heuer you will see that this model is listed by them as CJF2114 BA0576 and that is what promted me to ask the question.
-
Are you serious? A rep as good as this and you are complaining? Spend 3k to 4k if you you want but boy, I love it.
I was just asking a question,is that a crime? I also asked if any person with this type of watch had luminescent hand and hour markers, once again only a question, but one that was ignored.
-
My recent purchase of the Tag Heuer Link blue dial watch has made me wonder looking at the model number on its back as listed above,Was there ever such a model? Also I note that the genuine model has luminescent hands and hour markers, well this one dosent, does yours?

well hard to say on chrono, but my suggestion is to open all valves and if u can take the caseback off do so , make sure there isnt alot of sealant on the orings first ,if it looks like ther may have gotten some on the inside of the case then wipe it out , probably not the case but u never know, lol then let it dry out good with the back off , or if u dont get the back off , run a warm hair dryer over it not hot ok till it goes away , let it sit and then close all openings good and see if that took care of it, more than likely when assembled some air got trapped in the case and or some type of sealant has created some moisture in it ,make sure once it is out to tighten that caseback down good and snug
hope this helps, lmk via pm/email if u need more assistance ok

THANK YOU VERY MUCH JOE FOR YOUR ADVISE,I DID TRY THE HAIR DRIER,I THINK I AM GOING TO HAVE TO SEND IT BACK TO PT THE DEALER WHO I BOUGHT IT FROM.

Hell,
I bought a Tag Heuer link watch from PT only a few days ago but since I have had it,the face of the watch keeps misting up,so much so that its hard to see the dial.I know that this can happen with a sudden change of temp. but this has happened even when the watch is not being worn and has been in a constant even temp. for hours. Can anybody please help.
Thank you

You haven't worn it while showering, I hope?
No nothing silly like that,I have six other watches and I have never had a problem like this before. It looks like I will have to send it back for servicing by PT the dealer that I bought it from, its going to turn out an expensive watch for me.

The gen Link chronographs use quartz, ETA 7750 and El Primero.
The model line starts from Link Quartz chronograph, then Link Automatic Chronograph (ETA Valjoux 7750)... and Calibre 36 (the top model) uses Zenith El Primero.
PS: Thanks all for your comments, appreciated!
I HAVE READ YOUR REVIEW AND BOUGHT ONE FROM PT AS YOU RECOMMENDED.YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT BUYING FROM HIM IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF THE UK,I ASKED HIM TO RE-SIZE THE WATCH FOR ME BECAUSE OF AN INJURY TO MY RIGHT HAND,NO PROBLEM HE DID IT FOR ME AND NO CHARGE.DELIVERY WAS TWO DAYS FROM ORDERING ALL IN ALL A FIRST CLASS DEALER WHO I SHALL USE AGAIN.
COULD YOU TELL ME,DOES THE WATCH NEED A SERVICE OILING ETC? AND ONE FINAL POINT,MY WATCH KEEPS MISTING UP INSIDE THE DIAL,AND THATS AFTER WEARING THE WATCH FOR TWO DAYS,SO IT SHOULD HAVE REACHED AN BALANCED TEMP.I COULD UNDERSTAND WHEN I FIRST WORE IT.ANY IDEAS?

I am looking for an expert who can increase the gold plating on a Rolex Daytona
Any advise appreciated
-
You could get it plated yourself.
Where would I get that done ?
-
Hello to you all,
I have just recieved from Joshua one of his latest daytona models, and I can report that the watch is simply stunning. It would be nice if one could buy these with 10mil of gold plating just to give that extra confidence in their durability, but even so ,well done Joshua for a super watch and I may add simular service as usual.
Best wishes to all on forum

Hello,
I have lost the little pearl from my sub,and wondered if anyone new where I could cet a replacement from?
Thank you
-
What did you think you were going to get for $170? If the bracelet mid-links and clasp were made from 14k gold to Rolex specs the gold value alone would be close to $400. IMO, a solid 14K bracelet is a waste of money because it looks less real than a high quality 18k plated bracelt.
I was repying to a member asking for a picture, what I was saying to him was that the 14crt gold bracelet was exactly the same in appearance as the 18crt plated gold bracelets sold.As far as the gold costing $400 for a product like rolex who also make them hollow, see the artical by PT who gives the weight of the middle links and the cost of the gold is more like $100 and gold is gold wether it comes from rolex or anyware else
-
if the midlinks are solid 14k id say you still got a good deal , you can always buy a solid gold clasp on ebay .
would love to see some pix ..
enjoy ..
The appearance of the bracelet is exactly the same as the two tone plated ones that are sold by the likes of Joshua. The links are not solid as such, they are only hollow and very light in weight. As for being able to buy the clasps on e bay, could you give me any info on who is selling these?
Thanks for your reply
-
I recenty purchased a 14crt TT sub bracelet from Precious time and whilst the mid links seem ok the clasp is still only plated, and considering that this gets more wear than any other part of the bracelet with taking off and on,then it seems just a wast of money,as I have found out after spending $170 on one.

Ouch... Why double? Out of principle I would rather someone charge me an extra five dollars (or pounds) and say "I'll cover pp" rather than saying "you cover it." Then...when it's 2.9% for everyone else, why do you charge 5%?
I work solely off of commission, being in Real Estate. So I understand people charging more or less for their services. What do you bring to the table that you should charge a fellow board member more? Fast shipping? Does your band not have sharp edges, or make noise?
I'm genuinely interested...

I stated £20 for sale plus 5% =£1 total £21 purley for easy pricing,As far as the bracelet is concerned it is new and is of good qaulity as Joshua who I bought it from is well known for. If you think it will suit you then you can have it including delivery for £25 now if that is ripping off a fellow member then forget my offer
-
Hi All
Noticed that the TT sub's bezel is not too tight n not aligned . Also the bracelets creeks when worn and the edges are rough/sharp .
Any pictorials on how to modify the above problems ?
Thanks in advance ... yes i did do a search but unfortunately i cant find what i was lookin for
Hello,
I have a spare TT sub bracelet that I have taken off a sub I bought from joshua and replaced it with 14crt gold one You can have it for £20 plus post if your interested pay via pay pal +5%

my 20s per day on this watch that has had a 120$ service is the worst timekeeper out of another five watches thay I have, and thes are on average 10s and these have not had the benifit of a service,so what is the point of having a service? THATS MY POINT! NOT JUST THE 20S+
