  1. The crown and tube for the SMP chrono are for Omega case number: 178.0514

You can install the Omega parts in the rep. the part numbers you'd need are as follows:

    Crown: OME-ST42154

    Crown tube: 090ST1237

Ofrei has both of these in stock.

The crown is $49. The tube is $12.20.

Thanks. I know about the gen parts at ofrei, but as I said above, I'd prefer to go rep because I'd be sure the parts would fit.

  2. I've been haunting all the forums with this question - I need to replace the stripped crown/tube on my SMP Chrono. I was thinking gen for a while, but every repair guy on the forums I've contacted told me that a gen may or may not fit. I'd prefer to source a rep crown/tube somewhere so that I don't spend money on the gen crown and tube and then find out they could not be installed. It appears speedy would do it with rep crown/tube, but his turnaround time is something like three months. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

  3. Let me introduce you to my best friend:

It's all relative. I decided a long time ago that if my hair started to go, I would just embrace the hairless look. It started its retreat, and one day on a trip to the barbershop I made the decision to crop it real short. Upon coming home, my wife declared that it made me look like a member of the "Hitler Youth." I concentrated on the "Youth" part and took it as a compliment. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

She has now done a 180 and says real short hair makes me look like Brad Pitt (trust me, I don't). So, as I said, it's all relative. Don't let your mother determine what looks good on you. Or, you could always go retro and rock this look, and no one will be the wiser:

  4. There is a V1 and a V2. The V1 has a bezel that is too thick. I paid $198 for my v2 (josh).

    Hope it helps! Great watch.

Your review is making me buy it!! Very hard to tell whether it is V1 or V2 from dealers' photos. Plus I saw a discussion on one of the forums that there may be as many as four different versions. As must as they are "trusted" dealers, I don't really trust them to tell me whether it is a V1 or V2, or even actually know for that matter.

  5. this is a very common problem, not only with Narikaa's PO, but pretty much all other PO's, including mine. You will have to do a search on the "other" forums as there is a complete tutorial with pics on how to do this.

Ah, that's why I couldn't find it before! I found a reference to it on another forum, which took me to yet another forum, but I finally tracked it down. Thanks!!

  6. I bought it a few months ago, worn it a few times and the last time, the snap closure is not snapping. I think the little spring that holds the nub in place slid out of position. I think I've seen a post here with detailed instructions on how to fix the problem, including photos, but I searched and could not find it. Anyone have a link?

    Thanks

  7. I handed my "ultimate version" Planet Ocean for regulating at the local watch store by my house. When the Asian store owner was finished, he handed me back the watch and said "absolutely the best replica he has ever seen". I asked him how he knew it was a replica?!?!. He said that if it was real, there's no way I would of brought it into his store for repair. We both started laughing!

I'm fairly sure the guy who sized mine charged me more than he usually does because he thought it was a gen...
