  1. great work - looks awesome I like the black hands, however all pictures I found of the genuine Navitimer Fighters had silver hands - am I confused? I have a Fighters too and would like to mod it. cheers and thanks
  2. great collection thanks for sharing! would you please tell us where you got the acrylic display stands? I suppose Ebay? - thanks
  3. I would look into the Breitling Chronomat Evolution 3rd gen, or any of the upcoming ones like PAM Northpole GMT, Chopard Gran Tourismo XL, etc.
  4. I like it almost liek one of my oldest reps
  5. for all of you that wanted to know what my equipment and setup is. I am using a Canon 20D with a Canon EF-S 60mm Macro lens, Circular Polarizer, a $49 Photek Digital Lighthouse and some of the shelf 500 Watt construction lamps from Homedepot ($5-10). I don't spend a lot of time with setup as you can see from the pictures and just shoot with Aperture priority and use F-Stops between 8 and 11. I than trim and slightly color correct the pictures in Photoshop - no heavy editing here Here are the pics of my setup:
  6. looks interesting, however not my cup of tea. I just received mine from Eddie Lee - it is on the winder right know to see whether it is keeping time and if it winds properly. The second is very choppy and I sure hope that I am not faced with the same issue than on my 3 IWC Portugiesers..... Eddie ensured me that the issues have been fixed - we'll see! I will post pictures once I am confident that it runs appropriately, it still has all the plastic on
  7. shame on you Angus, you should enjoy your birthday rather than posting here today
  8. none available yet, it seems that the forst one with decent maginification will be the PAM Northpole GMT from Puretime
  9. you are right - my bad - Joshuas is only 20mm - sorry
  10. so this is going to be an all German post - nice pics Rolli Gruss and Bob und Dich
  11. I compared it to the gen and it is a 1:1 copy and as said before the movement is the only givaway - other than that it is spot on. I own a large number of reps 30+ and this is the only one I walk into an AD with since they have no clue that it is a rep - unless I take it off my wrist and they turn it around.
  12. I am looking for a Strategic Alliance Manager for a very successful software company here in the Bay Area
  13. Panerai Arktos 186 GMT on this beautiful California morning
  14. all replicas are problem models, at least all chronos to a certain extent and even some gens are problem models - I had an Omega Seamster Pro and had a lot of problems with it, even my genuine Panerai broke down after about 1 month. With replicas it is all about luck - I received models where nobody had problems with but I. My BB for example had the usual slipping chrono hands problem, but was/is ok on all other fronts.
  15. thanks for the tip Rob - I have to make a list of watches that I will send to you - lots of work comming your way
  16. form the pics of the gen that Eric posted it looks like the gen is also a manual??
  17. I hear you my friend and I am with you - I am afraid the perfect ones will remain a rarity
  18. good observations! I have seen one Roger Dubuis in real live and that was at an event with a large amount of rich people - I doubt that anybody would even know what a Roger Dubuis is. This is yet another one of those never to be accurate replicas, since the makers will not spend the money to buy the original, or put a lot of effort into replicating a watch that only about 1% of the replica community would buy anyway. I like it though, despite the flaws :-)
  19. Angus - you are killing me - are you telling us that this is a replica??
  20. my main challenge will be to get the crystals removed - I am very clumsy and don't even want to try to remove a movement. Once I have figured out how to do that I will commit thanks for all your efforts
  21. I almost forgot to post the pics of my Seamaster Professional Chrono from Angus - so here you go
  22. Canon 20D and a Canon EF-S 60mm macro lens with Circular Polarizer - I use a cheap lightbox and some homedepot $8 lights :-) and yes the finish of the asian movement is superb!
