  1. Hello all

I recently received my first PAM rep from Andrew, and let me say that it is gorgeous. However, I have noticed one problem. When the time gets to around 9:00 (usually at 8:16) the watch simply stops. If you move the hour hand out of the way, the watch will continue to tick. It seems as though the second hand gets caught up when it passes under the hour hand from time to time. My question is if this is a repair that I can do myself (I have no experience in taking apart watches) or if I should contact the seller. Again, I love this watch and would like to not part with it if at all possible  .

    Thanks guys

  2. I have recently been admiring the various PP caltrava reps that our dealers have to offer. This one has caught my eye the most.

However, even though I like this dial, I have yet to see a similar one on a gen PP. Does anyone know if this is a fantasy watch? Also could someone please point out the faults of this rep, I am clueless when it comes to Patek.

    Thanks

  3. To clarify: iPods, whether Nano or normal, can play MP3s of any kind. They can also play Windows WAV files and Windows WMA files as long as they have no DRM, or copy-protection. They can also play MPEG4 audio (known as AAC) either with or without copy-protection DRM.

While you need to use iTunes to put the songs on the iPod, this in no way limits you to just using songs converted with iTunes or bought on the iTunes Music Store.

iPods are more 'open' to other formats than any of the Windows players or the Sony ATRAC players.

For a non-techie person, an iPod is by far the logical choice. For a techie, the choice is already made and is most likely iPod.

They are the best selling MP3 player for a reason ... and it's not because of their price.

(edited because I pressed the button too soon, danmed laptop keyboard)

I'm just verifying what Pugwash said. While I'm sure there are other choices that would be cheaper, if the look of the player is important to your wife, I think it is best to go with an ipod nano.

  4. First of all, I would like to say that for my first purchase, I have decided to fork over the extra bucks for a 111h with a "better" movement. However, I have since fallen in love with the Patek reps with dials such as these.

EL and Trusty also have versions that seem similar to the 2nd one (the one with a more expensive movement). Now this brings me to my question. I was wondering if the 21J movement is reliable enough to let me wear the cheaper watch for a few years without trouble. If the difference between the reliability of the movements is night and day, I will certainly save up longer and get the swiss movement. However, I really dont mind the fliplid case, or the display case back, so I can't see much difference between the two besides the movement. Any comments would be appreciated.

  5. First, I'd like to say that I am new around here and have become very interested in the hobby of reps. I also love the look of The Pan 111s, so I thought that should be my first purchase. However, I am begining to think that such a large watch would look goofy on my 6.25 inch wrist. I posted this to ask your opinions on whether or not my wrist is too small for the 111. If it is, any recommendation for another watch would be great.
