  1. Amazing work and all created at a time when there were far fewer resources / options available to build with. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Marco! Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  2. Good to see you around Marco, you're a true asset to any community! Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  3. They look amazing - although I can't believe how much effort they've gone to on the movement and then stuck in those horrible winding wheels with massive chamfers on the sides!
  4. I've got a J-series rollerball I'd trade - I guess desirability depends on what you're building!
  5. You could always pick up a second hand 203 and swap the dials out. I hear there's one under the seat of a NYC cab
  6. Plus, if it gets covered in dents after about 10 minutes wear or corrodes, it's probably aluminium
  7. Not that I'm interested in getting one (this model is more about community and remembering), but the logo looks pretty off - I'm no expert, but it looks really stretched to me.
  8. Just had a watch PVD'ed by Rolli (for a Pre-V project) and it's also turned out brilliantly. The colour is the perfect lead shade, and having seen other PVD watches from just about every after-market PVD service offered on these forums, I have no hesitation in saying Rolli genuinely does offer the best quality and finish, especially for the old-school PVD colour!
  9. I've just had a response and may be getting somewhere. I'll update with any progress and continue to hold out a little faith that the entire problem was due to lack of time / focus rather than anything more deceitful.
  10. Interesting photo, thanks for sharing. Any idea when this was taken / emailed out? Still not sure what to do, but getting sick of his attitude and continued praise over at 'Risti!
  11. The project was to create a 1:1 3646 case, and the agreement at the time (which many 'ristis bought into) was that it would take a good few months to build the project. He's getting my emails as he occasionally responds with a meaningless excuse. The deal was a trade, I won't go into details - but this is where it becomes complicated. I have an email trail as proof, but he's quite clever to use phone / instant messenger for any statements that are commital - in hindsight, it looks like his formal communication has been carefully used to ensure he can scam people and get away with it. I guess it just goes to show that you shouldn't trust anyone regardless of how well respected they are in certain communities.
  12. Nice idea, but when the person you're questioning can do no wrong, we'd be shot down in flames! I don't want to drag his name through the mud, just get what was promised from the outset or a refund. Lets see what happens!
  13. Just wondered if anybody ever ordered a 3646 homage watch or case from Adeoos and were scammed? I've been waiting patiently for a couple of years, but he doesn't respond to any form of contact and I'd just like to find out if anyone else is in the same scenario? He's very well respected on 'risti, but I've been far from impressed with the contact I've had with him. Any comments / suggestions welcome!
  14. ...plus a gold railroad track and white numerals - could be perfect
  15. There's a genuine dial / bezel /hands / crystal w/cyclops for a great buy over at viapaneristi at the moment from a reliable seller from this forum!
  16. Good picture clearly showing the 6497-1 in the Pre-V's / 6497-2 for later watches. Still like the idea of a high-beat Swiss movement with decent decoration (CDG & Perlage) regardless of 'accuracy'!
  17. There's an idea, Simon - you know how to manufacture them consistently, and you know you'd be more than welcome to my existing artwork and any new ideas
  18. Great project, I'll be in for one depending on cost / availability when they're made! Great news on the other parts.
  19. According to the material interchange list, the pallet arbour is the same as a Unitas 6497. I know it's a long shot, but has Rob tried butchering a Unitas for parts??
  20. S - I think the only interchangeable Molnija's / Cortebert's are the cort 624 and the Molnija. I believe the issue with interchangability is the thickness of the pin / arbour / whatever it's called as well as the height. Have you checked Jules Borel? If I come across any parts to help, they're yours, but unfortunately I don't think I've got anything to hand.
  21. VDB's the only way to go right now; Kevin (Adeeos) was making 1:1 cases, but he has taken many peoples money and not returned a thing. Unfortunately as the state of things at Risti don't allow mention of anything homage (even completely unbranded with no reference to trademarks), nobody can go through their mods to chase Kevin for the money he's taken. I'm still holding out hope that something will surface, but after 18 months, hope is fading
  22. I just have to say, these hands are incredible. The quality and finish is superb - the blue finish is out of this world (a million miles apart from those painted blue hands that come with reps). Thanks for bringing us this project, your work is very much appreciated and admired!
  23. Not at all unusual; I've had ones with all kinds of engraving / decoration, from bare brass with no engraving, through to CDG with co-branding, individual makers branding (Cartier, Hermes, Tiffany, Mathey Tissot etc.), Angelus branding, Stolz Freres makers mark etc. - there really are dozens of variants!
  24. Looks great, M! I've been looking at the photos for a while - at first they looked like the back plate was brass, but the design looks like the first generation steel ones. Which dial is it, out of curiosity? The steel ones were my first attempt, and in terms of dial thickness (total 1.3mm), was probably as close to the genuine dials as we've seen (later dials were thinner out of convenience for vintage builds!). Great to see you back on these forums, you've injected some life in to the place and once I find the time, I'll definetly finish some projects and share with old friends. Hopefully we'll get the chance to catch up again soon, it was great to meet you last year.
  25. Sorry for the late reply, Simon - just returned from my honeymoon The watch looks great, glad it's up and running - it was a long time coming, but we got there in the end (god knows how you managed to get that stupid stem engaged eventually!). The strap from M looks amazing, he's a true gentleman and it's because of people like you two that I stay around these forums. BTW - the 'tutorial' is online, it's on Gordon's site - Angelus tutorial (mods - please delete if inappropriate) Happy New Year!
