  1. I had a flyer through from Cousins this morning - with an advert for 1/2 price Allergy jewellery shield for watches. Product code J12037 @ £3.37 - may be worth a try if you're serious?!
  2. It was probably just coincidence, Kaneda says he bought two tickets as a regular member. Oh well, at least it bumped the thread back up!
  3. Here! You may be just as well scanning a technical drawing of a caseback from the catalogue / finding one already online (there are loads kicking around) and tracing it in Illustrator. Even if you don't know how to use the program, it'll take 5 minutes max - and that'll give you a clean logo using a minimal number of edit points.
  4. I've just found this on Timezone - so maybe there were brushed vintage buckles? Unless it's just my eyesight!
  5. Just got one - I tried when you first posted it, and was denied access. Now that I am a supporter, it let me buy them - I don't know what's going on there (a bit of a catch 22 with one of the prizes being RWG membership!!). Thanks!
  6. It was intended as fault finding - I'm actually deciding whether to go with the raw buckle for accuracy, or the brushed for aesthetics. The brushed actually looks better with the strap, I wouldn't change it!
  7. Is the GPF-style buckle brushed, or 'raw'? I'm really tempted to go for an engraved one, but I'm not sure of it's historical accuracy for the project I'm planning. I take it that's not your compass?!
  8. Mark, that looks amazing! The second I sell my watch, I'll definetly put an order in. It'll be awesome when it's finished, can't wait to see the results.
  9. Not bad at all! All you've got to do now is fix the wobbly crown (if yours has this problem?) and you're there! Didn't you mention something about the T-Swiss-T being wrong? It looks great though, I saw another on ebay earlier, I'm very tempted to buy it - only problem is, I seriously doubt the watch would survive my 'handy skills'!
  10. Agreed, it's a dog! The sad thing is, it was designed by Marc Newson - one of the most influencial product designers of the last decade. I guess you win some, you lose some. Probably not bad suggestions on splitting it - the strap's easily worth £120, the movement is unusual but should make £200+, no idea about the diamonds - judging by the build quality of these things, there'll be a few disgruntled owners looking to replace their bezels (I've heard the diamonds, pushers and even crowns have a tendancy to fall off!). Ho hum.
  11. Thanks to r11co, I've got the PO back together! I decided to go back with the SS band, I'll buy a leather strap when I find the right one - I ordered an 18mm omega buckle from a jewellers, but when it arrived, they'd measured the outside dimensions of the buckle so it doesn't fit. The bezel is still a bit wobbly, I've been reluctant to keep taking the bezel off in fear of losing the spring again! The photos aren't up there at Pug's standard, and the light in the house always makes everything look lavender. I'm aware that the Omega logo is slightly high, the AR coating is very weak, the pearl needs replacing etc. But, is the crown horribly innacurate? I was at an AD this morning, and the crowns seemed to be a lot larger, this one sits flush with the casing in comparison!
  12. It's worse than Telewest, I've got Tesco broadband. Maybe this'll go some way to explaining it!
  13. No luck, but thanks for trying! Maybe it'll start working when I format my HD, no idea why it's happening though
  14. Ok, thanks for the replies! No idea what's going on, I've cleared my cache and all of the usual tricks, but no joy. It is still http://replica-watch.info right?
  15. This is most probably a stupid question, but I've not been able to access RWI for over a month - I've not seen any posts regarding RWI here or over at TRC, so wondered if I'm the only one with this problem?
  16. If it's the watch case / glass, have you tried WD40? WD40 is the answer to the world's problems.
  17. I won't upload hundreds of photos because I'm sure nobody will like the watch - it's a bit OTT. It's also a bit of a weiner at only 40mm, and the diamonds really don't do it for me. However, it is genuine with a ETA 2892-A2 based movement and a rather overwhelming smell of vanilla. I didn't realise just how effective a heavy AR coating is, on my wrist, it looks as though the glass has fallen out!! Here's one quick picture, before I try to offload it on Timezone Sales corner!
  18. I used Offshores advice about 6 months back to clean a dial, and it cleaned up perfectly. I was using Tescos economy denture cleaning tablets (30p for 30!) and within 5 minutes, the dial was a thousand times better. I've heard Rodico is quite good, you can get it at clockspares.net for about £2.50.
  19. Now that is ugly! The only reason I can think of is that they were bored. Or, it's Pauls shop and his Craaazzzzyyyyy sale really is as crazy as it sounds.
  20. Please tell me it's not some kind of led powered alternative to superlume!
  21. Thanks for the advice, stupidly I missed that post. Still can't find the spring, and none of my pens have a small enough spring - I think ebay's calling!
  22. My PO is an older generation, and has several obvious flaws. The most irritating are the pearl and the wobbly, misaligned bezel. I figured I could take the bezel off (using bytor's Seamaster bezel replacement tut at TRC), realign it and adjust the spring. Everything was going well until I the spring launched itself from the watch whilst I was replacing it! On the plus side, I found another lost spring for a pusher whilst I was looking for it. Sorry for the blurry picture, I was trying to focus it on the *insert component's name here* instead of the watch! Anyway, this is the watch as it is, I assume the small part pictured should be placed back in the hole under the bezel once the spring has been found? As the bezel was fairly loose anyway, I was considering getting a new spring to tighten it up - does anybody have any recommendations of where to get one, or even suggestions of household objects I could take apart for the spring?! By the way, the strap is the 20mm Omega strap from Official Time (ebay) that a few people have been promoting - it's nice quality and very soft, but both sides of the strap are the same length which seems very unusual, it means the buckle sits on the wrong part of your wrist.
  23. A 24/24 Wojtecki Light Tan with white stitching (I was going to go with cognac, but I was beaten to it!).
  24. It's an Ikepod Dual Time diamond edition. I think it's limited to 99 models, steel case w/diamond bezel, black face, rubber (vanilla scented!) strap, ETA 2892/A2 movement. I'm having difficulty getting the original rrp, I've contacted Ikepod who can confirm it's original - but can't give me an idea of price. The standard Dual Time went for between $5 - 7,000 and the diamond bezel was an extra $3,000 on some of the other models. I like Ikepods, but I don't like the 'bling' diamond bezel - this was bought as more of an investment (like climbing the property ladder!!) I'd rather not put it back on ebay - I've dealt with the seller in the past, and don't want to put it straight back up for sale and cause offense! Plus, it'll be at the top of my feedback so any buyers will know what I got it for. I'm interested by Watches.co.uk and can drive to their office easily enough - the site looks slightly suspicious though. A trade would be preferable to selling, as I don't think there'll be much demand for a watch with diamonds on it, but I may be wrong!
