  1. Issues: 1. Datewheel 2. GMT hand too big and wrong shape Positives: 1. dial - good A's in Panerai 2. Cyclops - at least it is clear. Thoughts? I am not enthusiastic about the A7750 based GMT's and the resulting sunken datewheel - but not a bad effort. i hope that this means other Panerai are coming.
  2. Could you post pics? I think that none of the optics for cyclops pams comes close to the real thing - although the "Ultimates" were supposed to be better than the typical stuff. If you have a DSN - that was supposed to have an upgraded cyclops as well.
  3. Lanikai - i know that I am pulling a thread back from ancient history - but wanted to ask a question about the Genuine Crown Swap and the Spacing on your Ultimate 104. When you had The Zigmeister change this - what was involved? Was it just the crown - or did he have to do something special to the lever, etc to get that spacing. I have a similar problem - and a genuine crown - but was wondering if there was anything else that I needed to get - like rubber washers, etc? Thanks!
  4. In reality - the Pannie reps are actually quite good depending upon which one you go for. EXCEPT for the dials. For some reason - the dials on these suck big time and there are only 2-3 that come close to resembling the real thing. Every other component - is about the same the rest of the reps. We are very critical about PAM reps the same way that we are critical of Rollie reps - most will not notice the thickness of the crowns the way that we do. The other thread along these lines - the one about making some accurate dials - is attempting to address this problem. It was decided that the base PAM dials would be the best to attempt to replicate as it should be easy to do. This is evidenced by the fact that the dials that exist today - actually are not far off - just the wrong engravings, or wrong font. Those kids of errors are simply laziness or apathy - since it would seem that minor attention to detail and the appropriate incentive to get the printing correct (on dials they are already going through the trouble to print!) would have actually ended up in a close to acceptable dial. Lets all hope the dial project actually comes to fruition.
  5. Have to say - that was pretty scary looking. It would have freaked me out. Good to hear that you (and we humans in general) are more resilient than we probably think. Get well soon.
  6. Wow - they look great. I wish that someone would do a tutorial on the wire insulator fix. I would like to know how to do that...
  7. Rob - best wishes on a speedy recovery. Please take care of yourself.
  8. I wish Angus would use something other than a marker. I mean - would it be so hard to use a little matt model black paint? I would keep it too. If you get a watch from CN that is working - in my book - it is a keeper.
  9. Does the dial rehaut thing have the correct 60? or 80 in place of the 60? Thanks!
  10. Very nice. Congrats!
  11. My GMTIIC CHS Bezel insert came a little left of center. I have read that a number of folks have had the same problem with theirs. Has anyone gone through the process of taking the bezel off and re-aligning it? I would like to - but am afraid of scratching the insert and not being able to get a replacement. I read in one post a person just used a knife to dig it out - but that seems really risky? Do you all think that a real bezel remover would do the trick?
  12. Here is mine. It is an old pic. It has a Gen dial in the pic, and now has lello datewheel. Enjoy!
  13. Agree - I have a project like this one - that I have had on the back burner for a while. I was hoping that someday a more accurate dial would appear. Still waiting.....
  14. PM sent. Confirming I am in - just send payment details. Thanks!
  15. Why not? Do what makes you happy.
  16. I love this hobby. Too bad I have no skills myself. Thanks for the explanation Kruzer - very educational. Thank goodness for ZZ.
  17. I am certainly still in for two if it all works out. Thanks for testing Lanikai!
  18. Holy Moleeeee....... Count me in for 4 please!!!
  19. I am also pretty scared of trying to take the cyclops off. I guess the logical question for you Chief, is - is it possible to just buy cyclopes (somewhere) and have those ARed - so if I screw up taking the one I have off - I know that I have another that I can simply put on with UV glue? Is there a place to buy these cyclopses. Like, could someone simply get a bunch from the rep manufacturers? Anyone have a connection?
  20. Looks fantastic rolli. Now - if only someone would take on the project of making a much closer 111H dial!!!!!! Everything else is pretty much there....
