  1. The basic difference between the two is QUALITY.

    1. The Asian is a copy of the Swiss and its tolerances will not be as accurate.

    2. The Asian version uses metals with soft alloys. In other words the stem shafts may bend, the gears may warp easily, etc.

    3. The Ashian models come without any lubricants and need to be serviced before you can even use them.

    There are reports of people getting versions that work for a few years, but because the quality varies so much it is a hit or miss thing. If you have the chance just get a rep with the Swiss movement. They're well worth the money difference.

  2. Rob's the best! He devotes an incredible amount of time answering our dumb questions as well as teaching about the inter workings of watches. I now know where I can send my 1930's Lord Elgin when it needs servicing.

  3. Well, I reset the main forum index lilke the other user and bookmarked that page. Works fine now.

    //Cheers

    Go into preferences on your hard drive, go to the Safari folder and open it and then select the folder called "icons" and trash it. This folder keeps images to load on sites you frequent often to make browsing faster but it tends to get overloaded and cause hanging. Just clearing the cache won't empty it.
