  1. Some of you might remember my thread about a 3035 caliber in a rep case here.. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Gen-3035-movemen...-ca-t93612.html Well I am just about done with this thing. Here is where I am at. Gen 3035 movement Gen 16613 dial Gen 16613 hands Gen 18K crown Aftermarket solid 18K bezel and instert Aftermarket solid 18K/SS bracelet with MBK clasp showing all rlx markings MBK case, I removed the engraving and drilled the lug holes. (this case had engraved rehaut and no lug holes) This thing is freakin beautiful! And heavy...136 grams! The lume on the gen dial and hands is awsome. I did order the V3 case from Eurotimez and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I may end up using that case and crystal because I made a tiny chip in this crystal which is barely noticable at 10 o-clock. The only thing that looks off a bit is the crown position but its close. We will see if the V3 case is any better. All said and done? About $2700.00 which includes the V3 case but not the initial cost of the complete rep which I can put together once the V3 case arrives. Tell me what you think. I hope my pictures are better this time.
  2. Who are they kidding. We all know that every one of those customs agents grabbed one for themselves.
  3. Not sure yet, Chris from Eurotimez did get back to me and I have the V3 case coming. Once it gets here I will choose the best one. I'm sure the V3 will be the one I use though.
  4. Thanks. I already have all the gold parts. I am slowely turning a rep into a franken sub. I have a gen 18K crown, an aftermarket solid (not plated or wraped) 18K/SS bracelet and a solid 18K aftermarket bezel and insert. I have all this on a fully functioning rep case with gen ETA and MBK dial. The watch looks and feels fantastic as it is but I wanted the gen movement and dial. Once I get the case for the 3035 squared away I will transfer all the gold parts to it. Here is a picture of the watch now with the MBK dial, unknown case and ETA sitting next to my gen 14060.
  5. Ok so I'm sitting around waiting for Eurotimez to respond so in the mean time I decided to tinker. As I mentioned I have this gen dial, gen hands and gen 3035 movement that I need a case for. It all fit perfect in the MBK case but I don't want to use that case because it has no lug holes and it has the ROLEX engraved in the rehaut. So I went to the hardware store and got the smallest drill bit I could find. I figured I would drill the lug holes and see what happened. I wasn't planning on ever using this case so what the hell. Well the lug hole drilling came out pretty good and I have gen spec spring bars to fill the holes. The holes are just a hair to big but almost un noticable compared to my gen 14060. Next was the engraved rehaut. That was a piece of cake to get rid of. A few times around with a soft sanding wheel on the dremmel and it was gone. Then some light sanding with 1200 grit paper and then a little polish with metal polish. Now I am just in need of a case tube and a bezel retaining ring as I had to modify the originals to use on the case I am using now. I already ordered a ring and tube. I think I will still buy the V3 case if Eurotimez ever gets back to me so I can choose the best one. Here are the pics. Sorry the quality isn't that great but I'm still learning how to take macro pics. The pics don't do it justice, especially the dial which is beautiful. The date wheel is white and the 6s and 9s are open. I don't have the movement set in perfect yet, I just set it in for the pics so it looks a little crooked.
  6. On the subject of people being able to spot your rep. I have thought about this and its a real fear, especially if you are called out in front of people. I bought my gen sub about 2 years ago. I wear it practically every day and this was well before I even knew these good reps even existed. And every day I never even thought to look at other peoples watches. Sure I noticed peoples watches but I never once thought they were reps, muchless how to spot a rep. Now that I have a rep I find myself looking at every Rolex I see. I am always trying to spot a rep. But I am realizing that if someone spots my rep its only because they learned how to spot a rep because they have one or at least spent a lot of time on sites like this learning about them. Kinda like when you were a kid and the school bully says in front of everyone that he saw you shopping at K-Mart and your reply is "I know, I saw you there at the same time".
  7. Thanks, I have contacted Chris at Eurotimez and I am awaiting his reply.
  8. Heres an update. I got the 3035 today and it matches up very nice with the gen dial. And......its a perfect fit in the MBK case with the engraved rehaut! And I mean a perfect fit, nothing to modify, the stem lines up and everything. Unfortunatly I don't want to use that case because it has no lug holes and the engraved rehaut. Then I tried it in the unknown rep case I am using now, not even close. So now I am waiting on the noob case I bought from a member here to arrive. I'm thinking sinse it all works in the MBK case it should work in the noob case. Am I correct in that asumption?
  9. Thanks. is that Euro v3 you are talking about from Eurotimez?
  10. Well I recieved a bad news email from Sean, he has no case sets with lug holes. He is offering a refund or a case with no holes. I really need the case with the holes so the watch will be dated properly. Anyone have any sugguestions what I should do? I was thinking of just getting the no holes case and trying to drill them out. But that could be an expensive screw up if I mess it up. I do have a small table top drill press and I'm very good with my hands. But stainless steel is tough to drill through. Add in the angle of the lug and that tiny drill bit and its ever worse. Damn....I was ready to get this watch together, the movement is on the Fed Ex truck for delivery today and I am picking up a gen dial this morning from a local dealer. I really wanted that 1:1 case so I could put the gen guts in with no mods.
  11. Interesting replies. I do have a noobmariner case that I bought from a member here but it hasn't arrived yet. I will do a dry fit in that case as well. Once all the parts arrive I'll post the results. At that point I will have 4 cases to mess with. I have my first rep case which is the MBK with the engraved rehaut. Then I got another unkown case from a member here. I chose to ditch the MBK case because I was starting to dislike the engraved rehaut. I have no intention of ever using the MBK again though. This unkown case is the one I am using now with the MBK dial and movement which I believe is the ETA 2834. This case looks great and everything fit perfect. Then the noob should be here any day and I expect the complete sean case set in a week or so. But then I pulled the trigger on a gen movement a little premature. I was sure the current 16613 movement was a 3035 but its a 3135. So my goal now is to make the 3035 work somehow. Thats how I came to the sean case set. But hell if it fits in a noob case I may just use that one and try to just put the ETA in the sean case set and then I'll have a complete 16610 or 16800? If that works I will sell the all SS sub because I already have a gen 14060. Once this project is all done it should be a sweet blue 2 tone. I have an aftermarket solid 18K/SS band with the rep clasp showing all the rlx markings, I also have an after market solid 18K bezel and insert and I have a gen 18K crown. Looks like I will have some options to play with.
  12. Well we'll see. The 3035 and Sean case are on their way. I'll report back when it comes time to fit everything together.
  13. Sean says the case takes a 3035 or 3135 so I'm hoping its all good. Now the next obsticle, will the MBK dial work with the gen 3035? If not then I know where to get the gen blue dial but I think this MBK is pretty good.
  14. Just figured it out, thanks. He is quick to reply to. I think I am going for it so I don't have to worry about this 3035 (which I already aquired) fitting. Not a bad price either, $450 for the entire watch minus the movement.
  15. Yes that looks like the case I need to complete the project. How do I buy it? It looks like only a picture hosting site.
  16. Hmm, I wonder why I thought it was a 3035. What was the 3035 made for? Whats the difference between the 3135 and 3035?
  17. I'm slowely trying to build up a gen franken 16613. I already have all the gold parts covered. The case, movement and dial are all thats left. I know thats like the whole watch but it seems the case will be about the only thing that is hard to find. What is this "sean" case you are refering to?
  18. I'm looking at a Gen 3035 movement but I was wondering if it will work in a rep case. I have a few cases. One is an MBK which I would like NOT to use because it has the engraved rehaut and no lug holes. One case is a Noob with lugholes and the other is an unknown but its pretty accurate. I know most reps have an issue with the crown being to low so I'm not sure it will work, any advice would be great before I pull the trigger on this movement. Also....will an MBK dial work with the gen 3035? I also have a set of gen hands for the movement.
  19. So when I first saw this auction I emailed the seller saying that I would buy the watch at 2800 if the winning buyer didn't work out. And today I get this email....... "if you are still willing to purchase the watch i am definitely willing to sell it to you for 2800 please respond asap"
  20. Wow...you're right. Look at the ebay ad again. Two of the pics show show lug holes and the other doesn't. The one showing the green sticker and dial were definatly stolen. Thanks for the heads up. I placed two bids and luckily I was already outbid.
  21. Looks like a real nice 16613. The guy stated that the buy it now price was $2800.00. That sounds way to cheap, had I seen that before the bidding started I would have jumped on it. But now that the bidding started who knows where it will go. I'm sure it will pass $2800 though. Why would anyone start bidding when the buy it now is so low? Are the prices of used subs really that low? http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Submariner-2-ton...%3A1%7C294%3A50
  22. I have been watching it too. I am also afraid it will go sky high but I'm pretty ready to drop some coin on it depending on how high that sky is.
  23. Anyone know where I can get a sub case (16613) that will take a gen 3035 movement? It can be gen used or aftermarket.
  24. Found a website selling the same dial for $1200.00, and its the exact dial and the same picture. I looked at both pics side by side and they are the same. Hmmmmm.,... Its the 1st serti dial on the list http://www.limitedwatches.net/rolexsubdials.html#subdials
  25. Thanks. I don't mind spending $250 on a rep dial but it needs to be better than that. Its night and day compared to the Serti Sub link I posted.
