Hey guys,
I'm thinking of getting a custom made RXW MM20 style Marina Militare made and wondering if the CG lever should flip up to open (127 or 217) or flip down to open (267 and all other pams)? So essentially which one do people normally ask for from DSN? Thx

The PC/TT Autos are expensive but with good date fonts and cyclopes as far as I know and look the part, DSN cheaper and better lume weaker font, My DSN 229 auto like 104 is a great watch. CP may bug you, but i have a few without 207a/003/022 really not an issue but for some a little cp is too much to take. DSN has great lume out of the box, PP/TT easier to buy from. I'd start with a cheaper version to see if I'd like , you'll want a new strap though DSN's are of better quality.
If the bug bites then it don't really matter cos you'll be ordering more of the blighter's anyway.
Go with what you like thats the best you can do

Also who is PP?

Thanks for the information. So for the 104 PerfectC= TrustyT= PureT= PreciousT are they all the same watch? The strap is no big issue for me..I really dont mind spending a bit more if the watch is an ultimate pam. Do you think the ultimate "Best version" 104 is worth it from the cartel's? Also are these watches actually water resistant to 50m Thanks again

After looking through all the posts I am still confused which dealer to go with for my first Pam rep. I know that I will not do any mods but want a decent reliable rep. I am more into the Marina type models with CG. Looking on PC's site can you tell me the difference between the $100+ and a $400+ Pam 104? I mean there are 3 or 4 price points for the 104 watch..sooooo confusing for a noob. Are the fonts/spacing/mag off, CG not tight or flush?, cannon pin not correct? Someone please shed some light. For 400+ do you get a near perfect Pam 104? If you wanted just to get your feet wet with a nice out of the box Pam maybe a 112, 000 or 005 which one would you get? Say spend $300 usd (or cheaper if there is better deal) From which Cartel? Someone suggested the PC 112h which is fairly affordable at 100+...whats wrong with it? (Cannon pin, CG not flush..thats all i see)..is this watch actually so much inferior to the DSN 112 version? I think I am looking for a new (no scratches or stripped screws), reliable, correct font, good CG, cannon pin fixed from a reputable dealer who QC's..for around $300. Is this possible?
Thx

DSN also takes MoneyGram, along with a couple other types of payment - so there is no need to use WesternUnion only. And MoneyGram is actually cheaper to use than WU.
Thanks for the reply on using the Moneygram...aside from that have you ever bought any Pam's from PC?
Thanks

Hey there,
As a newbie...I'm interested in getting the Ultimate Pam 1:1 rep. I know DSN makes the best out of the box manual watches esp the 112. I've tried to buy his 112 but was screwed around by Western Union and vowed never to use Western Union again. My questions are that I've heard Perfect Clones makes the best Pam automatics ie the 104 or 88 Is this true? How's dealing with PC? Have you guys had any experience with the PC Pam's watches out of the box? Which Pam would you go for from PC? Any issues in shipping to Canada from PC? If there are any other perfect Pam rep dealers that dont use Western Union let me know and their recommended Ultimate model. Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks,
D

Hi
Newbie here. What would be the best out of the box 104? Ie no mods done. Correct cannon pin height etc., tight crown guard lever, 316 steel etc. Of course I'm looking for the Ultimate 104 but it has to be reliable.
Also will I be safe to say that these watches will be better than any of the reps you buy from Canal Street in NY China town?
Thx

The search on 1 post says ruby may still have this...anyone else?

Hi everybody!
Finally it's probably my time to buy a GEN! I have for project to buy a gen (in 1month...) but I'm really not sure about the model I really want...
I have a SMP replica Bond model. That watch was one of my dream. I love the PO 45MM with rubber strap but I don't know what is better between the PO and the new SMP.
I know, choose a watch is a very personal thing but I would like your opinions!
so:
or this
Thanks guys!!
J.Bd
i own both the gen 2254.50 and gen 2531.80 ...if it was up to me i will sell my 2254.50 and get the black bond PO 45 imo...

47mm Sterile dial no markings Cali dial w/blue hands. Display backing but may ask him change it to a solid ss sterile back so its not really a rep.
Thoughts?

No way you tried a search - this has been asked twice this week.
Did you really search?
I live in Canada and I have bought about 30 reps.
sorry i may be a little slow but i did do the search..."canada customs" i havent found anything on "canadian duties and taxes" on the reps. i know that many canadians here have received many watches...but it doesnt tell me what "extra" they pay in terms of duties and taxes?? sure i can receive a watch but i dont want to pay an extra $300 in duties and taxes...because some customs guy assessed the watch to be worth more. sorry for the newbie question man. hope it makes sense of what im asking.
thx

Please help!!!....I've did searches and can't come up to definitive answers. I'm new to buying reps but not new to buying watches overseas. I've bought 2 watches in Germany. My question here is if I buy a rep will Customs charge me duties and taxes for a $300 watch or will they charge me duties and taxes on a watch of what they think its actually "WORTH" say $5000? Or will they just seize the watch and not charge of what they deemed the worth of the watch?
From what I remember on the 2 watches I bought I think they charged me 5% on the converted ex-rate and then charged me 14% GST/PST
Any advice would be appreciated. The other alternative is to buy a custom watch with sterile dials and sterile backing...maybe Davidsen's 249 cali dial...
What do you think?
Thanks D

Thinking of the Slate Skyland Avenger V2 dial. Which dealer offers free replacement with lost goods in Customs

Must mail him but last time i ask DSN the 112 was out of order...
to update maybe
hi meyer,
when did you email him about his 112?
-
jkirke love the tan strap man. peepshow i'm not much of a pvd guy. imo i like the simplistic "base" that you can dress up or down.
currently i am not too worried about his 112h being a bad qc. he is building 100 of these watches i am sure the first bunch is practice and mine will be perfect. =) i am just worried about lost packages and his 50% refund. should i go for it?
-
Thanks guys...that was the watch I'm thinking of.
112h = As Base as you can get

Doing some reading and reasearch I've really narrowed down to DSN Pams. I've heard good things and bad things about this vendor but in anything to do with customer service we ALWAYS hear the complaints and rarely hear any praise.
So the question now is which of his watches are the best out of the box with no mods?
I've been looking at his 112h, 210h, 111h, 005h and 000
If you had one choice from DSN which one would you own and why? Or which would you think I should get to complement my collection .
Currently I have Gen SMP 2254.50 and SMP 2531.80 original Blue Bond, Archimede Pilot and a Stowa MO
Cheers

Thanks guys. DSN 112 was the other out of the box watch I was seriously considering. It looks very simple and rugged.

Hi there,
If you guys were to buy 1 watch with no mods out of the box which of the 2 will be the closest to the Gen (ie the fewest flaws)?
I've found that the Ingeniur has a different date wheel than the gen, AR coating diff
3717 harder to find a recessed V1 dial? AR coating?
I was considering the BP but the not working PR kinda bugs me.
Any ideas or is possible to get a BP with a working PR?
My thoughts so far are swaying towards the Ingy.
Thanks,
D

Hi there,
I am thinking of pulling the trigger for either a Pam 112 or 210 from DSN. Which of these 2 are the best quality and most accurate reps?
I'm kinda worried about Customs. Any comments would be appreciated
Cheers,
Donald

Hi everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone. Can you guys direct a newbie to a good place for a Panerai hommage/rep piece.
I was going to buy from DSN but did a search and the experiences were kinda mixed.
I am looking at his Marina Militare 1950 47mm (kinda looks like the pam 127)
and also looking at his pam 249 cali dial rep. along with his 210.
Which of his watches have you guys had the best suggest with? I'm thinking maybe the simplier pam 249 maybe better because of no markings and makes importing to Canada easier??
Budget is $400-1000 usd
Please help a newbie
Thanks

CROWN GUARD DIRECTION QUESTION?
in The Panerai Area
Posted
Hey guys,
So I've just ordered a custom 47mm Luminor style Marina Militare. It's a custom watch so wondering which direction should the crown guard open. I know the 127, 217 and RXW MM20's flips up to open. The 203, 267, DSN's versions flips down to open. Which one is more historically correct for the Marina Militare 47mm watches?
Thx
