On the gen the numbers are filled with platinum so this is impossible to duplicate with paint. It needs to look bright white and metallic.

That is true. Most of my friends own only one watch. I wear a different one just about every day. My friend with a gen Daytona always asks what I'm wearing. He said to me yesterday "I never felt the need to own more than one watch". I said to him, how can you only own one watch? Unless anyone has anything negative to say I will buy this soon. I have a $100 winder from ebay that is about 4 or five years old and it still works fine. This one looks like higher quality.

So I noticed my 8 head winder isn't doing any good for the other 10 watches I have. i decided to look for a new watch winder. I came across this on Amazon Amazon Winder I am contemplating a 24 head winder I saw on ebay but I can't bring myself to spend $1,600 for a box. That is close to the price of a nice gen. Although I would like one box to house all my watches so I don't look totally insane with three boxes sitting on my furniture, I think two of these may be the answer. I might have to order three just in case Does anyone have thoughts on this winder? Is it a total piece of crap or the deal of the century?

Very nice. I prefer bracelets and have held off on the HBB because the bracelet versions haven't been up to par. This looks great and if they do a gold version I will finally have one in my collection.

The UN is a must for any collection IMO. I am waiting for the black pimple dial in gold. I emailed Andrew and he says it is on the way. I think the black surf is just too much.....

Very nice watch and nice review. That depends on the manufacturer. Yes in it's pure form it looks a bit yellow because white gold doesn't occur naturally. Most white god nowadays is rhodium plated for that super silver luster. I have had white gold jewelery where the plating wore off and you could see yellow underneath. I think the polishing does wonders for any SS rep. I polish all of my SS reps with a cape cod to remove dirt. If you look at a gen Rolex the SS is much brighter than the reps even on the brushed areas and the polishing definitely brings it closer. The white gold Rolex uses however is totally different animal. You will never see yellow on a white gold Rolex. They have a patented process where they manufacture an alloy that makes the gold white the same as their rose gold called everrose. Even common rose gold turns yellow after time but not Rolex's. You will not find rhodium plating on a Rolex yet it will look whiter than any white gold. I think the polished SS gets pretty close. Good job. You have a great girl there BTW, nice of her to order the watch for you. Last watch I got from a girl was a black dial orange bezel Croton from shop nbc that looked like a PO but uglier. That went back fast and made her cry. Oh well...........

Timeshops.net has a good selection of Bvlgari and so does rolex2u.com Rolex2u looks to be the same layout as watcheden but a bir less expensive. I have spoken with them and he answers emails quickly but I haven't ordered yet so I can't vvouch for the service otherwise. I cannot say if either has the carbon dial but they both have big selections of Bvlgari although most are quartz.

Yeah, I remember a member getting ripped off as well that is why I wouldn't consider ordering from them. I do remember a time however when honpo was held in high regard. I hope these jacobs make it to the mainstream and i hope they come out with a high quality iced bracelet as well. Maybe I'm hoping for too much. My iced jacob just isn't doing it for me. I had a date a few weeks ago and I wore this watch. The girl was mesmerized and commented on it a few times. It does sparkle nicely in the dim light of Shula's Steakhouse. I was so upset with the poor quality I had to tell her it was fake. She didn't seem to care and that sure was good for me .... Thanks. Here's mine in case you missed it.

That is what surprised me. The workmanship looks to be really good. The stones are expertly set. Most of the cheap iced reps are just glued in although I have had a few really good iced Rolexes. The prices are about $1,000 but if it is good quality like in the pics it is worth it IMO.

I haven't been on a job interview in years but I have previously worn some serious ice. Masterpiece, iced day date, etc. I had once told a guy who was interviewing me that my shoes cost more than the salary he was offering and he must me kidding. I have always been in sales and no one wants to hire a sales guy who was broke. You have to project success. I guess this is the total opposite that any of you would suggest.

I check honpo every now and then and to my surprise it looks like they have made some very high end Iced Jacobs. Now I know no one here really cares and probably wouldn't be caught dead in one of these, but since my iced Jacob purchase I have been longing for a high quality version. The stones look expertly set and although the dials are unappealing to me, I would like to see one of these with a high quality iced bracelet and a standard dial. Looks like they have a MOP version too. Does anyone know if these are just for the Japanese market or are these available for us as well. I cannot contact Honpo as I understand they only deal with Asian clients. One of these would definitely satisfy my full iced watch desire. Here are the links: Jacob & Co

It seems there are a lot of new reps on this site priced at $1,029. Maybe this is like the 8,888 price when they aren't available yet. The inside of the clasp does look just like the original with the micro adjustments. I read somewhere that the new sub was supposed to have the glide lock clasp like the deep sea. Does anyone know if that is true?

Dial matching straps seem to be a new trend with the UN's, HBB and Chopard GTXL ( I have one with a blue dial and rubber strap). This is very unique. Looks great.

There are several gen movements with this feature. I had a Cartier chronoflex and the second hand sweeps when the chrono is activated. I have seen one other quartz chrono movement on shop nbc as well but can't remember the brand. I have yet to see this in a rep.

It's good to see they put a gold rotor on the gold versions. That was missing on the original chrono.

Just saw the new Datejust II jubilee TT on Josh's site. Looks good except for the gold plating. I emailed Josh to see if there was a wrapped version available. He said no, but I wonder if anyone here knows if they plan to have a wrapped TT version available. It would sure be nice to not see silver on the side of the center links and end links. Also I have several of the old two tone wrapped bracelet watches that look as good as they did when I got them years ago. I know gold is much more expensive now and that is probably why we aren't seeing any gold wrapped versions now, but I for one would rather pay top dollar for a two tone wrapped rep than an iffy seconds @ 12 movement. Just my 2 cents.
