  1. Actually from what I have read on Yema (I'm using a Yema for it's 7734 in the 7032), it's a fairly old (1948) French watchmaking company. They are actually still around: Yema. It's a nice piece and I'm sure if you look around you could probably find a pusher.
  2. I bought the same exact one from Eddie. Time Factors in the UK.
  3. Also for future reference; Chieftang has a service here where he provides a Double AR (Anti-Reflective) coating to the crystal. The guys AR is amazing and he is a good guy as well. So if you ever want to get a rep crystal looking like a Gen, he's the man.* *This member is not a paid spokesman for the Chieftang AR Company. Any references to their product is purely coincidental.
  4. YES! My bad. That's what I get for trying to multi-task after work and having some drinks. Gen Crystal makes ALL the difference. The Omega Lume is amazing (that's why Vac has to do the pearl too), the clarity and crispness of the dial. It's thicker and sturdier. I know it's over $200. But if you are taking the leap to really Franken out the UPO, do it. I would do crystal before caseback because you look at the crystal every day. I wear my Franken UPO more than I wear my gen watches.
  5. email Vac @ vaclume@gmail.com He's in Florida. And buy the Gen crystal(0625B3063). HUGE difference. Oh and make sure you get Vac to relume the pearl.
  6. Dial - OME-2500 Dial #4 Hands - HAN-4221 and HAN-4222 You want the caseback for the 168.1650 You should get the crown and tube as well not very expensive 069ST42184 - Crown 090ST1232 - Tube Let me know if you need anything else.
  7. Also would like to add, I am not one of the members that received the generosity of Kurt and turned around to resell.
  8. Well, I seem to have made the forum a little more exciting today. Believe me that was not my intention. I actually had a nice conversation with the person that started this thread this morning and I think I understand where he is coming from. When I got access to these crystals (yes more than one) it took me over 3 months to find them. They aren't on eBay, Cousins (Not even listed, or a myriad of other sites except VRF - 7032 Crystal $380.00. I asked several senior members here what they thought a fair price should be. Exact copy of my PM: "I have access to sealed Tropic 128's from one of my AD's. I have no idea what to sell them for. I can sell a crown or an insert here and there but no clue on something vintage. I'm not looking to screw over any of the members here just make a little here and there to help fund this addiction. If I may ask, what is the going rate for something like this? I appreciate your time." I checked DW, Yuki, Phong (his Aftermarket is $125) to see if I could get comparative pricing. After all that, I put it up for sale. I come from the school where you can always go down, but never back up. Also, I didn't hold a gun to anyone's head. The fact remains some people have access to parts that others don't. My last two purchases from here were: Gen 25-295 C1 - $220 Gen 25-295 C2 - $250 (Ever see any of these around?) And finally: Gen sealed 16610 Insert from an AD - $200 Nobody made me pay that for these parts. I paid it because that's what the market bore for me. If someone can get $20 Gen inserts and $18 crystals, Good for them! I can't. I know what these cost me. All the Tech Info I posted in the tech area is sold on eBay for over $200. I have spent the better part of 3 months scanning tech manuals of 32 different brands producing over 16GB (not MB) of data. I also have the Matsys Watchmaker Database system for those of you that knows what that is. I'm sure I could sell all of that on here and make some cash. I'm going to post it all for free. My point is, that information (though valuable) didn't cost me anything but a little time. Hell, I never thought I would learn so much from scanning pages. The crystals did cost me. I don't use one to justify the other. I find this place an incredible haven and have made some very good friends. I try to contribute to the community rather than just taking. But I don't need to justify my motives to anyone on anything I sell. It is what it is, don't like it, don't buy it. JB
  9. What are those Mongolian Yak Nut sack straps going for these days?
  10. Since this was in line of what I was going to ask, will a 2893-2 movement fit a Gen 16570 dial?
  11. Just go on Overstock.com. They have AP's, Omega, Breitling, just about everything. It is suppose to be a discount wholesaler website but they sure seem to be selling the Premier brands at a discount.
  12. I am a very jealous man. Would love to know about the Gen Parts you used. I have started collecting them for a 7031.
  13. I do agree. Yes he is a dumbass. The problem I have is that the guy got away with it and is profiting from it. May I present: I am a Big eBay Scammer I guess I just don't want the bad guys to win. And I can promise you they won't in this case. This thing has been reported on more than Paris Hilton's crotch crabs. Bad guy won't win.
  14. Actually thought of that and someone posted on here an instance where that happened.
  15. Ha. You should file a PayPal dispute! I would like to see the owner of the site talk his way out of that one.
  16. Thing is over $2K now and still up. Unreal.
  17. I have officially seen it all. Rep eBay store
  18. I'm sorry I just have to add one more; Did you see the shipping cost? $100 for Priority Mail? [censored], for that cost you should get a US Navy Seal or a Royal Marine to hand deliver it to your house.
  19. Is it balls or stupidity? "Dad paid $18,000 for it". hahahahaha. Then you have a family of dumbass's.
  20. My idea of heaven; having my parents back, fiance/soon to be wife, and my all my dogs with me. I do nothing all day but build watches and search for parts(and I actually find them!). Oh and watch college football and drink the finest bourbon. On a serious note. I have an AD that pretty much gives me the aesthetic parts of the watches he works on. No movement stuff or major problems, he ships those off. Does Rolex keep all the parts? All I know with the new parts is that they have been microchiped on the label on the bottom. Whether that is for inventory purposes or to track where new parts go, I have no clue. Thoughts? Control the flow of new parts or a smarter inventory system?
  21. The HE valve is in the wrong place. Dead giveaway. Other than that, I haven't read if that PO actually accepts Gen parts.
  22. Just like anything that ages over time, will there be a time in the next 100 years where your vintage Rolex becomes an old paperweight on your desk because you can't source parts to fix it? Are there always going to be parts out there for the newer models? The purpose of a watch is to tell time. When that stops happening it becomes a shiny bracelet. Do watches have a finite lifespan?
  23. I just went through this for some parts. As far as Rolex goes, they will ask you for a serial number.
