  1. Luke,

Your friend clearly has an acquired taste for reps - since the explorer II and GMT IIC are, IMHO, two of the best out of the box R@llie reps available. If you go with the GMT IIC, I would consider the ETA movement better value than the Asian Clone with the modified bridge engraving.

    Cheers, Lumpy.

  2. mmm yea...

but honestly, wld like to avoid that if possible... you know how the customs are sometimes... cld take weeks/months before the watch actually reaches Josh. This is my favourite watch to date, and I'll have to wait all over again!! Ok i'm whining... but u guys to know how it feels...

    That said, any other alternative?

(I've mailed josh anyway in the meantime... let's see how tt goes along too)

Josh will send you specific instructions on how to send the watch back by registered air mail - if you follow them, you will have no problems, I recently sent a watch back from Australia, it arrived safely 5 days later.

If you explain the problem, he will likely offer to cross ship a replacement.

    Cheers.

  3. Chargin55 (lol) great name,

Kind of spooky that your first post should be about your new speedy, One small step for man........

Can't wait to see the speedy, let me know when the UPO arrives, I'll come over with 6 pack and a macro lense.

    Welcome on board,

    Lump.

  4. Quite right ! Its called marketing and corporate image. Whats "not on" about that ? A company comes under fire in the "real world", takes a bit of a battering, makes changes and improvements and then the first thing they do is revive a popular marketing campaign to remind everyone how good they used to be. I don't see any problem whatsoever.

++1 - I sent an enquiry to Neo and received a nicely worded reply within the hour - it was concise and helpful.

Their customer focus is clearly high priority. They QC the watch once they receive it, then send hi-res pictures to the customer before dispatching it....I like it! It's a unique selling point for EuroTimes which I hope one day, will be industry standard.

I believe now is as good a time as any to try these guys out - I am.

  5. My GMTIIC(IHS) had a similar problem about three months ago. I took it to a local repairer to find out that the rotor had come loose. It was an easy fix and the watch worked great until a week ago. Now it has stopped and cannot be wound???. The repairer said something has broken in the movement and has quoted $220AUD (approx $180US) to repair it, he said that he will need to order Gen ETA 2836-2 parts to fix the clone ETA movement??. I'm not happy, but I guess i have no choice but to have him fix it.

BTW - The dealer who sold me the watch said the loose rotor was a common problem with the copy ETA 2836-2 movements....???

I hope your watch is the loose rotor problem.....good luck.

    Lump.
