  1. Are the transfer gears on the genuine thinner than the Asian ones? Is that why the case requires machining?

I am not sure how different, but the movement is thinner, that's why the case need to be machined to accept the gen or else the crown position won't lined up.

Thanks everyone for compliment, the watch really is stunning to look at :)

  2. Just wanted to share the excitement from this project, a very special one....

At this point, the case is being machined to accept the rare, discontinued Cal. 79240. Crystal being sent to PBdad for his double AR treatment. The blank OEM caseback is getting the custom engraving and install a sapphire crystal so it can show off the movement.

I also wanted to give big thumps up for Texski for agreed to assist me with this project, and personally deliver the parts to me in person. A gentleman from my experience dealing with him.

Enjoy the pictures. I love the 3714-82 dial, different angle produces different result, flat to glossy, dark to grey, to brown.

  3. Thank you gentlemen.

@Watchmeister, subtle and elegant is so true. I listed it for sale due to that same reasons but due to no one wanted it. Now I am glad I still have it.

@Lobster, it's a rep movement, fully serviced and treated with nano-tech stuff from Rolexman. So far running beautifully. It ticks with slight tap on the watch and great great power reserve.

  4. aaaaaaaaaaa. Missed out on the sale again. Ouch.

The weird thing is I emailed the guy 2 weeks ago, asking to buy 1 if he still have some since the link on ebay sold out. He said he has one, asked me how much I would pay for. I said 200 euros (which still a bargain). He replied with one simple word: NO

  5. [censored] off but would not anywhere near file chargeback without communicate with the seller. How do you feel if you were the seller? This wasn't the seller fault.....

To me, if you cannot afford to lose a couple hundreds dollars without being so unreasonable, and patient, this hobby isnt right for you.
