  1. Don't know about a21j, but they send Asian clones instead of Swiss all the time. Very few of the buyers open the case back to check, and even fewer know how to tell Asian from Swiss.
  2. Go with asian - 9 times out of 10 you'll get an asian movement anyways even if you pay for swiss; even if you do get a real swiss movement chances are it will be old, dirty and in a dire need of service. That's the dirty little secret of rep industry - most people don't open the case back and check the movement, very few do and even fewer complain to the dealer when they find out they were duped. The dealer would blame the factory, give a partial refund to that one buyer out of many hundreds who did not bother to look at the movement, and keep the money he made on all the suckers who paid an extra $150 for what they thought was a swiss movement.
  3. What about a gen Edox WRC Classic instead? The dial is similar to the Portuguese, and you can easily find an auto model for well under $400 on Watchuseek.
  4. Why spend $250 on a fake Canada Goose filled with crap-stained chicken feathers when you can get a real Mountain Hardwear or Marmot for the same price?
  5. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=61801 might help
  6. You can buy a gen pair of pretty much any brand for under $100 if you look around, why pay close to that for a fake of questionable quality?
  7. Looking at the rep accessory section, it seems like lots of rep accessories, especially shoes and jackets, are priced higher than some of their genuine counterparts without a fancy label (Johnston & Murphy, Ecco, Columbia, North Face, etc.) While we can certainly see what the items look like from a picture, it's impossible to see how well they are made. Why don't the dealers destroy a few of the items they're selling and take detailed photos so buyers can see what's on the inside? Saw that $150 Prada dress shoe in half so we can see the internal construction and make sure it's good quality leather and not glued cardboard, cut those Canada Goose jackets open so we know they're not stuffed with dirty chicken feathers, etc. It won't break the bank for the dealers, and prospective buyers are much more likely to order knowing they're getting a quality item, not some Luckytiger8888 junk with a fancy label on it.
  8. We all know the swiss ETA myth by now (i.e.there's no such thing as swiss eta in reps, hasn't been for quite a few years now - you're still getting asian even if you pay $200 for the alleged swiss upgrade,) but am I the only one who finds all those alleged timegrapher results in QC photos highly suspicious? Doesn't it seem strange how a dirty, unlubricated asian movement is running with timing and amplitude of a freshly serviced Rolex at the dealer, and then it's +/- 45s when it arrives at your doorstep?
  9. $268 for a21j-based rep? Couldn't they at least put an ETA clone in it?
  10. Hype it up, throw ridiculous price numbers into the mix, release at a slightly lower price, watch the suckers line up - works every time Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  11. Wasn't there a post a while ago in the Panerai section stating that most , if not all rep cases are investment-cast nowadays, thus making them brittle and prone to chipping, and machining out of a single piece of metal is a thing of the past?
  12. Does anyone know if any US-based dealers or modders sell spare CG levers? Lost it on my H factory 111M and would prefer not to pay close to $100 with shipping to order the whole CG from China.
  13. http://www.monstercable.com/outletstore/linelist.asp - refurbished (basically brand new but without the fancy packaging) Monster Turbines are only $50 directly from Monster, much better deal than the el cheapo $30 skullcandy and whatnot. In fact, almost as cheap as the fake ones on ebay
  14. Gilt.com has a whole bunch of high-quality winter jackets for under $100 in their coat rack section, including GoreTex ski jackets. Marker Thermo ($350 jacket) is only $40, which is way cheaper than fake Spyder from KB. Heck, it's even cheaper than carcinogenic mystery material stuff from diystorm. There's no need to buy fake clothes when you can get the real deal cheaper.
  15. In case of Breitling or BR you're paying for the name, warranty and quality. In this case, you're paying $600 for a chinese watch of much poorer quality than the $350 Tissot. Reps are fine as long as unmodded ones are priced at the same level as a similar Invicta or some other lower-quality brand, but a poorly made, unreliable chinese reps costing more than entry-level quality Swiss brands is beyond ridiculous. Once again, you're getting ripped off. Don't order it, and in a month or two Hose&Co will drop the price to $250.
  16. http://www.glooks.com/watches/watch_detail.asp?pid=T34.7.487.62&brandname=Tissot&cat=watch - gen Tissot with the same movement for under $400. Just wait till the dealers come to their senses and drop the price to a more reasonable level, there's absolutely no need to pay $600 for a chinese rep when you can get a swiss gen for $250 less. PS: isn't "jos" pronounced as "hose?" You're definitely getting hosed by that guy
  17. It's a $50 u-boat rep with dOOBIE on the dial selling for close to $1000 and idiots are snapping it right up. That's 20x markup right there, not even $4000 Invicta can match it
  18. No offense, but some of your items are more expensive than their gen counterparts, especially A&F jackets which can be found at deep discounts on A&F.com or any other online retailer. Same goes for ski jackets, there's plenty of sub-$200 jackets on sierratradingpost or campmor that are made out of real GoreTex or Entrant fabric and not some scary carcinogenic chinese stuff that's probably about as waterproof as a sieve and as breathable as rubber. As far as diystorm junk goes, you might as well go to chinatown and get it there - same thing, only cheaper.
  19. You can hire a good hitman to whack the customs guy who's probably wearing your awesome watch as we speak
  20. Just out of curiosity, why is replicawatchreport referenced here, and more importantly, why does it have ByTor's RWG posts on several of its pages? Isn't it basically just a fake review site pimping scam sites selling $500 "swiss" PAMs with pizza slicer crowns? Or is the guy running the site some moron who can't tell his ass from a hole in the ground, let alone a good rep from a bad one?
  21. Nope, just wondering why people do it. Are you a dealer who sells fake $150 A&F cardigans, by any chance?
  22. It's not as good as the gen but it gets the job done. But then again, a gen clasp alone would probably cost more than the rep watch, clasp and strap combined
  23. Wrong case shape, thick OP engraving, wrong plexi shape, wrong crown shape, ugly laser-etched text, need I go on? Just get a pam288 if you're looking for a semi-accurate out of the box Radiomir rep, can't possibly go wrong for $230.
  24. Why in the world would anybody buy fakes of low-end brands just to save 10-20% as compared to gens? Uggs can be had for under $160 on zappos.com any time and that's their regular price, meaning they're even cheaper when they go on sale, gen A&F cardigans are $150 on abercrombie.com (thinner ones are cheaper than the fakes, go figure,) gen Spyder jackets can be had for under $200 all over the place, gen Nike Shox are under $80, etc. And don't even get me started on the Farmani suits with comical shoulder pads that make you look like you're straight out of a bad 80's movie when you can get a decent-quality suit at Jos A Banks (their Signature Gold line isn't too bad) for under $250. I can understand a good rep of a $2000 bag for $200, which puts it in the same league as high-quality rep watches, but why the cheapies?) Just shop around and buy gen, even brands like Arc'Teryx that almost never go on sale can be found at a decent price, let alone A&F and RL. http://www.zappos.com/ugg-womens-mid-calf-boots~1 http://www.abercrombie.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&catalogId=10901&productId=719773&langId=-1&categoryId=12223 http://www.abercrombie.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&catalogId=10901&productId=704797&langId=-1&categoryId=12206 http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/853749/ http://www.zappos.com/nike-shox-bb-pro-tb-white-white-black-metallic-silver etc...
