  1. I'm afraid once they do, the print font will bug you and once they correct that, the uncrossed "t" on the back will drive you crazy and after they correct that, the fact that the movement inside isn't original as evidenced by the second hand movement will get to you, and after they correct that, the movement of the chrono second hand only ticking 5 times per second will bug you ........and so on and so on........ Much wider than the original???? I think you are being pretty tough on a watch that has won many kudos here for accuracy to the original.
  2. As I stated earlier, a depth rating means nothing except in relation to the water resistance ratings of other watches. You can subject a watch to the same static pressure it would experience at 200m while swimming vigorously at a depth of 1 meter. This is why the 200m rating is a benchmark. It means a watch can withstand the kind of dynamic pressures it would encounter during scuba diving, ie. swimming under water at say 15 meters. If you think your 30m wr watch is safe taking a dive off the springboard into the pool or body surfing in the ocean, then you are putting it at significant risk.
  3. I think you are focusing on a flaw in a 98% flawless rep. Remember the rule here, all reps have flaws. Find one with flaws you can live with. If you are the kind of person who, once they identify the crooked line, that's all you see, you will drive yourself nuts. BTW, I think the extra width of the inner bezel results in a smaller stainless outer bezel in this particular rep, not in a smaller dial. I got the white dial version so the difference is minimized
  4. Me too. I was just wondering in my post if waterproofing as an added value upgrade package is worth it if only to 50m. Do any rep manufacturers waterproof their reps to 200m?
  5. Does 50m water resist testing really mean anything other than the fact that the watch can get wet and gently submerged? I've had genuine 150m resistant watches fog in the surf or after springboard diving into shallow water where they are subjected to dynamic pressures greater than their depth rating. In other words, is anything other than a true divers rating of 200m and a screw down crown a guarantee of water resistance that one can trust at poolside?
  6. This is like an episode of COPS. All we're missing is the trailer park and the dozen beer cans! No, I'm just tickled to see someone other than me with their balls in an uproar. "Bad boys, Bad boys,,,whacha gonna do...whacha gonna do when they come for you.. ......Bad boys .....Bad boys...." "Can't we all just get along?' Rodney King
  7. Bought a Rollie SS Sub, very good quality, got it in 4 days, $119 + $25 for WU transfer. Very good transaction.
  8. Thank you soooo much. I was getting ready to order the blue. My question is is the blue true to the genuine ie: is the genuine an almost black dark blue? If this is the case, I might get it anyway. A photo essay comparison earlier pointed out that the tire spoke wheel bezel was not as wide as the genuine and that this is also reflected in the thickness of the white zone in the inner bezel. Any truth to that in your direct observations?
  9. GODDAMNIT!!!!! I knew I should have ordered that Bentley GT from you last week Josh!!!! You know, every time I think I'm being prudent, what I'm really being is STUPID!!!! Nothing suceeds like immediate gratification. Chris
  10. I can't tell if that's a genuine or a replica because the 300M water resistance rating on the replica vs the 3000M resistance rating on the genuine has been cut out!
  11. With what I've been able to gather from some of the answers I've gotten to this question is that trying to make a distinction between "Made for Switzerland", "Modified and finished in Switzerland", "Swiss Made" and "Swiss Movement" will drive you nuts. Bottom line as I understand it is that ETA movements are made in China for ETA and shipped to Switzerland for some finshing touches to be labeled "Swiss Made". It is somewhat of a fallacy that these "swiss made" labeled movements are in some way inherently superior to the asian made movements by virtue of their pedigree since that pedigree does not truly exist. Now, of course, in house movements by Rolex, Girrard Peregeaux, Audemars, Patek etc do have this pedigree but they are not available to you and me, and to the replica factories, as retail movements. That is not to impune the accuracy and reliability of these ETA movement designs because some of them, the 2836, the 2824, the 2892 and the 7750, are tried and true movements that have proven their reliability over decades. I guess what I'm trying to say is "Swiss Made" when it comes to ETA movements is not a very important differentiating label. An ETA design made in China without the ETA stamp can be just as reliable.
  12. The two part guide to Submariners is a must. One bit of quickly learned wisdom here is that a "perfect" replica does not exist. All of these copies have flaws in fact, if you lined up 10 genuines of any particular brand, you would find variations in their manufacture. The best advice I got here was find a copy with flaws you can live with. For some submariner buffs, a poor crown is a killer, for some, dial variations are a dead giveaway and for still others, feel is the most important attribute. You can get pretty nuts with modifications such as genuine dials, (which will run you $250+), genuine bracelets and crowns some of which will fit and some of which will need modifications. The best submariner title is an ever moving ever changing crown, no pun intended. If I had my druthers, I would combine Luckyy's MBW Modern Submariner 440 grade stainless case for the 50th Anniversary LV with Kings very accurate LV dial and movement and have Josh at perfect-clones.com do his movement servicing and adjustment and waterproofing but I dont have $1200 to buy all three and have a spare $175 to have Ziggy do the assembly! I have learned to live with my 98% accurate $119 SS Black Dial Modern Sub rep from aspire-eshop.com that just happens to run closer to COSC accuracy standards than my genuine Omega.
  13. Hummmmm? Did I smell a first replica purchase being delivered to work???? Hope you didn't do this because your significant other wouldn't approve! I kept my wife in the dark about my non drug, non affair, non alcohol, non gambling addiction for a while using stealth deliveries to work but it only delayed the inevetable and hindered my ability to wear the watches in the open right away. I guess someone who isn't prone to deception and stealth like myself might do this just to insure someone is present when the delivery is made. What would I get next? It depends on what you are into. I had to get the obligatory SS Submariner and Speedmaster Moon watch but the next purchase was the Speedmaster Broad Arrow. Although the subdial spacing is somewhat off, it has a great bracelet that rivals the genuine in heaviness and quality and the white dial/blue hand look was great. I would stick to the replicas that have passed the muster for appearance and performance here. The IWC GST Chrono in titanium with the new asian 7750, the Tag Heuer Link Chrono from TTK with the same power plant, the new Breitling Bentley GTs and, of course, the MBW Vintage Submariners from Luckyy are all models that have gotten high marks here for accuracy of reproduction and performance.
  14. It did sound like scare tactics to me too but getting some reassurance is helping me justify that Bentley GT from Josh I'm ordering Friday!
  15. Thank your lucky stars you were saved my replica experience. I bought replicas from scam sites and rip off sites for years before I came to this place. I think I blew $4000 on replicas that would have run be about $1000 if I had bought them with the knowlege I got here. Enjoy and buy smart. There are still some mistakes you can make with the unbridled enthusiasm I hear even with the good guidence at this forum.
  16. I posted several weeks ago about my $120 Submariner from Paul fooling our jeweler's Rolex USA contact person when we all met at a restaurant. "Nice watch!" he said. When he was enlightened that it was a fake, I heard him lean over and whisper to Rachel, "That watch is a fake? My God!" It was as great a chest puffing experience as a replica owner can imagine. This weekend, we were in the jewelrey store when Rachel said to me, "I have a note from my Rolex guy for you" I thought it would be a tongue and cheek scolding of me for copyright infringement. The note said "Doc, PLEASE get with the program! Fales fund TERRORISM. Yes its TRUE" I think this is probably the company line about the counterfeit business to discourage it with any and all means at their disposal but, of course, I have my little nagging doubts. Anyone hear of this and is it a rumor, a fact, a ruse, a scare tactic ect...
  17. I've been called out 2-3 times by strangers. You wouldn't believe how effective it is to ask them "You think this is a rep?" and look them straight in the eye. Each time they responded "Wow that's a real......!" Even if they are knowledgeable, they back off thinking you were given or sold a fake . I think most people quick to challenge authenticity are pretty familliar with being fake thamselves.
  18. I've done a search here and came up empty. Looks like genuines are over the top with leather going for $250+ and Croc at $450+. There is a seller on ebay who sells 24mm leather straps with a Breitling insignia buckle, although I dont know if it is true to the genuine. Anyone know of a source for something true to the original that will not break the bank?
  19. On the genuine, the t cross is so subtle, even in hi-res photos on the Breitling website, that it's easy to see how they missed it. It actually almost reads as Swilzerland on the genuine
  20. Are you going to 'freeze" the 6 o'clock subdial?
  21. I agree both the inner bezel white ring and the machined look of the gen outer bezel looks better but both of these pictures appear to have been taken at slightly different angles so a direct comparison is hard. I picked up the angles of the angled bracelets are different where they contact the 6 oclock position of the case. It's still pretty accurate. Josh lists the case diameter as the same as the genuine (like 44.8mm or something). This kind of direct side by side is the most difficult one to pass and I think this model does better than most. Also, getting an un-adulterated new 28,000 bph asian 7750 is quite a treat. This one is next after my LV.
  22. WOW!!! Great collection. Nice selection from tough as nails to dress. I have to save your picture and show my wife that I have a lot of room to grow. Making an adjustment of an ill-running movement to almost COSC specs is a very satisfying experience
  23. I just checked out King's LV. Nasty crown but the dial is the best I've seen on any of the reps I've been going over with a magnifying glass. Great print font and spacing and thin metal borders on the lume markers. It also has a better pearl than most and is guaranteed waterproof to 40m I think I should take a Valium and just make a freeking decision!
