  1. Oh yeah, I remembered the incident but forgot it were 'lanikai' that made the 'bracelet for upgrade' offer. Thanks for revisiting with all the infos Lanikai...........sigh, what was it that other brilliant member had to say on the subject of true benevolence? Oh yes; Like we all said to 'Ubiquitous' that time; then gesture is made outward to the benefit of others, seemingly, but the real rewards are paid inward in the form of Karma. And a good night's sleep. Or maybe it were just 'Omni' who said that. Cheers 'lanikai' But let's not lose sight of the 'thing' here. 'AllergyDoc' started all this fracas. See the Pandora's box you opened up Doc? I don't believe in banning as all can be worked out by calmer heads. But a suspension of posting privileges? That's not entirely uncalled for. If not down right funny.
  2. Special 'Kiwi' massage? Oh, wait, the Kiwi's are those other ones Down Under down under.
  3. Ditto. Asim is on some hard times, but that is not an excuse. It's really none of my business aside I have a casual interest in Asim as an e-bud here on RWG. I don't remember which exactly, but a member of the Admin. team quipped as of late (paraphrased); "Dealing from the member group is an easy way to get bound up all to hell....." As an individual, you have no support team. Just because you have a friend who is a jobber in watch parts, and you can get them bulk on the cheap, and you are willing to extend a service to the membership, in the name of solidarity, and even make a few bucks on the side for your troubles? Think twice, thrice, four times and then forget it. One bout of appendicitis that lays you up for three weeks with orders from 'friends' pending? You will be hunted through the streets by villagers with torches. Just not worth it. Once upon a time any member with a Dremel tool and a steady hand was a 'modder'. Man, the fall out was like the USS Indianapolis hitting a mine field on route to Tinian. Three or four members I can think of off hand were celebrities. Before they were strung up with piano wire. Then there was a guy who thought it would be good fun to source homage watches with an RWG logo. Leave it all to the pros. This thread is a perfect example and should be pinned with regard.
  4. Yeah and that's a hard one to disprove. Like the mobster on the stand; "I do not recall that". Hmmmmmmm. I would imagine more often than not 'factory' will hang the collector out to dry. And then again, more often than not, we are "Stupid dog face who buy crummy watch. HA!" Kind of like Detroit automobile manufacturers. So. You have to go with your gut. I'm kinda likin' it. Things were getting too easy on the noobs. "Add to your Cart" -click- and then three days later; 99% Planet Ocean with Swiss ETA COSC? Pffffft! I've always thought the best facet of this whole hobby was the 'hunt' and the bent on doing well by one's own self through good due diligence, research and judgement. With RWG and posts like these, it's not like your not loaded for bear. Good watches for good money? Shoot. The mall has that.
  5. I remember this. The deal went into discussions over a 'donation' made versus an upgrade to 'membership'? That is; you made a donation to the board in lieu of becoming a paid member and there was no way to confirm your donation? This needs to be revisited. Hind sight being 20/20 I thought that were a wacky deal from the get go. Good intentions all around, but the road to ruin is paved with those. No good deed goes unpunished and all that. I dunno, I just rolled my eyes when that one unfolded. Well all that aside, just know; with VIP upgrade you get fruit basket. Right Doc? And with Platinum you get massage with happy ending. Right Shundi? So we have that going for us. Which is nice.
  6. Oh, have you not the addy for RWG1.1 then?
  7. lol Joshua and Andrew dressed in chauffeur's uniforms standing at the bottom of the escalator at McCarran International, holding a paper sign; "PUGWASH".
  8. No doubt. You could almost hear the collective; "Oh. Dear." when the collectors read the title of this topic.
  9. There has to be something relevant or somewhat enlightening with regard to 'replica watches' in there somewhere. I mean, I'm not sure either, but, certainly. Oh, and besides, I bring the beers. Regardless, I'm Platinum. 'Elitism' is a terrible thing. Unless of course you're on the inside. What's that like? I wonder.
  10. "So, did it hurt? When you fell from heaven? Bum first?" Have fun 'Pugwash'. Watch yourself. If you see Lady Gaga there tell her from me; all is forgiven and she can come home.
  11. Jet, the watch in your avatar. Is it bending that spoon with it's mind? Whoa.
  12. Not if they bring beers, cigars, girlie pics, or post something relevent or somewhat enlightening with regard to 'replica watches'. Like a review or wristie or link to an ETA page. Owen was a freeloader. Some come to the party with something to share. Some just come to the party. Some come to the party empty handed and take home half a cake. Then post a vid on YouTube of them eating the cake at home.
  13. OK, if you guys aren't going to let it die, I'll have to contribute: "a lot" apparently is one guy named Owen. Or Oren, or "O" something. Whatever. Oren was the only member I think should have been on a revolving charge for bandwidth used.
  14. Please let this thread die. It's taking away too much attention from the 'Shoutbox'. TIA
  15. RG, I'll leave the 'tech talk' to the WIS and just mention, as it means more to me than 'watches'; your technical writing, in terms of the rhetorical, has evolved to a great place. I've never missed a tech post of yours since the first Asian 7750 expose`. Although the info was 100% all there, as a neophyte, I had to read that particular post quite a few times to correlate the info to the 'understood' past the technical. This post however? I 'got it' first run through. The proof is in the fact I have no real working knowledge of the subject, just a cursory fascination, but I could now hold a quite complete discussion on the subject. That is the power of the craft. WIS can wax technical all day long and communicate. A 'teacher' can bring the ignorant up to speed in short order. You're on it. I know that English is not your first language, and as an American it's not mine either, but this is great writing. In any tongue. Thanks for the effort(s).
  16. Getting ours tomorrow. But, I have a crystal ball; 1) Joshua Classic 16610 (as always) 2) Pre-cut, trimmed @ home 3) Fraser Fir 4) 8 ft. 5) Florida, US 6) ~ $100
  17. 'PayPal' If you upgrade to Platinum you can get away with murder.
  18. I dig the talisman lugs. 4X good luck charms. Oh yeah. Congrats. I had never heard.
  19. Nice Gio. Very tatsefully trimmed. The look we had BK (before kids) but we now have to let them have free reign with the tree as we did as kids. They load it up with so much (a lot of it hand made in school) that it ends up looking more like a recycling plant than a proper tannenbaum. Can't wait until the Teutons or Maine Coasters chime in on how we get ripped off for the price of a 9'+ Christmas tree. Suffice; I wonder what they pay for citrus. Pay? Every house on my street has grapefruit the size of basketballs stock piled in radio flyer wagons with a sign; "Free, please help yourself", where they sit and rot before the trash man takes them to the landfill. I think my sister pays $1 a piece in NYC. Don't get me started on sea food. PS Those aren't the stockings we want to see stuffed. Shamefully trite I know. But you started it.
  20. The Quartz chronograph replicas are, in most cases, the more correct with regard to the subdial spacing. I.E. (until recently, with the m7750) the Planet Ocean Chronograph and the current Speedmaster Pro specifically and topically, the Moon Watch. It actually begs the question; Why has there not been a quartz 116520? I suppose even the replica lords have limits on ettiquete, taste and aplomb. A quartz Daytona!? Perish the...... Quartz. When you absolutely, positively have to be there on time. Not +/- COSC.
  21. True, but I'm a Scot. You know that joke? What's the difference betwixt a Scot and a Jew? The Jew will loan you the money. On terms. I don't want to see any racist connotation or disparaging comment with regard. It were Shakespear's line in The Merchant of Venice. So, take it up with him. Anyhoo, I made good on the gesture from Admin., for the Platinum account. It were a humbling moment when I logged on and the PM popped up; "Dems, you are now a Platinum member." I have no practical use for the technical database here as I once had on TRC and the old RWG. But, since registering here, I have fired my therapist, those two guys I used pay to go drinking with me, and no longer buy Playboy on the odd occaision. Think of the savings.

  23. OK, we can see the way this is going. Mods, lock this mess up. When will they ever learn? Trolls. <edit> BTW I'm on a barter with the Admin. here. After a month of posting I was given Platinum gratuitous. So. There you go.
