  1. Got foggy headlights on your car? All this UV, chemicals in the air/rain, etc made them dull and milky?

You can buy an expensive headlight repair kit off the web with mixed results, you can DIY with increasing grit sandpaper and then polishing (which works, but is time consuming)

Or.... as a watchlover who has to have a cape cod polishing wipes in the house - try that first.

I just did it on mine and they look sparkling new. Small chips are still there as you need to sand it down if you want to get rid of them. But, overall, you do not notice them and the plastic is clear as new.

    Try it for yourself!

  2. Rest and take care of your eyes,

you will be fine as long as there is no damage to the internal compartments (no changes in eye sight is a good sign). Subconjunctival hemorrhage is not serious by itself when it is just a ruptured vessel that leaked blood. It only looks scary and can cause some pain because of the distention, but it should subside and you will be fine. If you experience worsening of your pain or any other symptoms, especially with eyesight, I would recommend to visit a doctor just in case.

    take care

    Alex

  3. if I remember correctly you get 4 o-rings with tube:

1 small diameter and sort of flat - this one goes on the tube neck where you screw it in the case for water seal

2 small diameter but thicker, these both go inside the tube, there is just enough room to fit two of them in there

1 big diameter - goes on the outside of the tube and touches an edge of the crown when you tighten it up

you have to put one more on the base of the crown, inside on the stem holder. it is the same o-ring as one you put inside the tube but it doesn't come with tube set, it comes with crown, or you can just buy it separately.

    hope this helps

  4. actually you have to fit two of them inside the tube, that's how it's done properly. you have to supply your own for the crown base which is the same as the one inside the tube.

OK, stupid question but I don't want to screw this up!

Have a new triplock tube which came with four o-rings, the smallest clearly goes around the bootm and is screwed into the case. The largest one is a little thinner than the others, I presume it goes around the exterior top portion of the tube. Another pretty clearly goes under the crown

Where does the fourth o-ring go? It is between the size of the two which go on the outside of the tube, and it happens to fit perfectly inside the top of the tube. Does it go there?

    Thanks :bangin:

  5. Thank you for your comments. I am sure seller is legitimate, and watches he sells look spot on, I would be surprised it is a rep. He's sold thousands of them over the past few years (not that it means anything knowing people who shop on ebay :) I wasn't ready to pull a trigger yet, just wanted to ask you guys about buying it from a foreign country. I always first look at ebay to see what price range is there and what is available before I start shopping seriously. But it is a good point that most likely AD will offer a reasonable used SMP with a piece of mind.

    Cheers!

  6. Hey guys,

I am pondering on the idea of getting a gen Omega SM Pro. There is one seller on ebay from Japan that sells genuine watches (I hope he does), but I wanted to find out if there is anything I need to know to avoid some surprise later, like US dealer refusing to service it etc. One little thing I noticed on one of his watches is presence of a stamp on the caseback that looks like a earth globe with omega sign over it on the outer ring of the caseback (if it tells anything? I have never seen like this one before).

    Your comment would be appreciated.
