  1. I'm not sure about where to buy fakes, but ray-bans aren't even all that expensive. Go to eyesave.com. their prices are pretty good... especially on ray-bans (ususally about 30% off). I can't imagine fake ray bans being very good quality or that much cheaper than the real thing

hi i wonder if there is someone who knows where to buy fake rayban wayfarer with all correct markings and so on. there is many sites that sells them, but without the markings, so i would be grateful for info on where to buy these. thanks p-lund

  2. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know if there are plans to release a non-top gun version of the Top Gun V2 (like the doppelchrono, but without the second chrono pusher)? I love the watch, but just can't get over the Top Gun cheese factor... haha. I think it's a much more attractive watch without the logo engraved on the side, and with the all-white chrono hand.

  3. I have two A7750 and winding them... they do not feel nearly as smooth as a gen ETA 7750, it almost sounds like I'm breaking it. Of course, I know nothing about how well made a movement is. I think the biggest risk is you don't know if you're getting a good A7750 vs a poorly built older one. There just seems to be a much bigger variance on quality as opposed to a newly built gen ETA 7750 which seem to be more consistent in quality.

pretty sure you're not supposed to hand-wind A7750s

  4. :D :D oh they replaced "S" with an "A"

The new aquatimers look terrible compared to the slevin, etc. I think 'anustimer' would actually be a more fitting name... haha.

seriously though, the new aquatimers do not look like they should $4000... not even close. I don't know what iwc was thinking when they designed these

  5. A fantastic watch, I am very happy with it. What's more it is keeping crazy accurate time, and the case back gasket was greased. The rotor spins quietly too, anyone would think this watch has been serviced! As for the dial, and the missing gears on the back plate, it really does not concern me, I can't pull this off as genuine anyway, as it would probably cost $60-70 K new

for the life of me, i can't understand why gen AP's cost so much. Don't get me wrong... it's an amazing watch. But 60-70K? really?

  6. I just found out about a flaw on the the dial, two grey circles are missing around the sub dial rings, pretty obvious flaw :(

    Genuine:

Hopefully this will be fixed in a new revision maybe? Definitely not worth $500+, even more so with dial errors.....

are you sure the dial is supposed to have grey circles? they look like reflections from the lighting to me. Look at the bottom part of the minutes subdial @ 12...

  7. bump! 2 years have passed wm9 has another tt to be released

I recently put a pre-order deposit down for WM9's sea dweller that is being released soon. Everything I've read on this site has lead me to believe that WM9 is a reputable dealer with great quality stuff. After reading through this post though, I'm not so sure anymore. Should I be worried? Or has their quality improved over the last 2 years?

  8. Man that sub is terrible, do yourself a favor and purchase from one of the trusted dealers here! Sorry to read you got scammed, I wouldn't pay $10 for that watch. They're labeled as scammers for a reason mate.

He may have gotten scamed out of $50 bucks or so, but most people here get scammed out of hundreds of dollars on a regular basis. Look at the new IWC ceramic top gun rep... $500 for a watch with a cheap asian movement that barely works? give me a f'ing break...

  9. Guys,

I'm relatively new here, but I have spent a ton of time browsing the forum in the last few months. I've noticed that many people have made comments implying that they wished they could take more professional photos of their watches. I dabble in photography a bit and thought some of you would find this link interesting. It's a list of cheap, DIY lighting solutions and how to build them. I think #3 and #8 would be especially helpful for watches.

  10. Attending a number of family dinners over last couple of days has got me thinking.

How many members of your family/close friends are really interested in watches?

We've been sitting at the table today... some talk about normal things, family stuff, pets, food, cars and of course football.

There was a discussion about today's game - Manchester United vs... I don't even remember who as I am not into football at all...

So when the discussion started and I heard Manchester United - the first thing that came to my mind and that I felt like sharing was about Hublot and their new sponsorship contract, the new limited Big Bang watch etc etc.... but guess what? I did not say a word.. because I feel they would not really care. They would have no idea what Hublot is leave alone a Big Bang and what was changed in the MU limited version.

I suddenly started to feel very lonely in this hobby and with my interest.

If it wasn't for internet and our amazing forums it would be really hard to find a person to talk to about watches.

To be honest in my close surrounding there is only my father who is interested in this subject, my gf got a bit into it thatnks to me... maybe one or two friends who like nice watches but do not really have a clue about anything specific....

So thank you guys that you are here and that I can share my passion with you!

Speaking of the ManU limited edition big bang, does anyone know if there are plans to replicate it?

  11. Which type of dial do you prefer? I have never seen a Panerai watch in person and am curious how they look.

Also, for those with experience, do the sandwich-type (111h) make better project watches? It seems that they would be much easier to relume because of the multiple layers.

  12. Hi everyone,

I'm very new to this site and have learned so much just from reading the FAQs and very informed posts in all the different forums. I decided to take the plunge and i've been talking with a dealer regarding a breitling chronomat evo with graphite face and red "automatic" lettering that you can find at many of the dealer websites. This is the newer version with double AR (supposedly) and with more correct date font. I'm very excited about the watch as it appears to be a very fine example of how close reps can get to the originals.

My concern is with the movement is an A7750 and from what i've read on these forums this movement has made great strides in quality over the past couple of years but some report having problems after a very short time and others mention that it is best to have the movement serviced right after you buy it. I guess my question is if anyone has any experience with the a7750 as it's deployed in the BCE and if it is worthwhile for me to try and find someone who can service the watch locally (i'm in maryland).

Your comments, suggestions, and experience are certainly appreciated.

    Cheers.

If you find someone in maryland to service your watch, could you let me know? I'm in the DC area and am looking for someone as well.

    Thanks
