  1. Bought this watch from Josh in march, dropped it two days ago. If I tap it, it will run for like fifteen seconds then stops. While its being repaired I would also like to get it relumed. I was considering vac for this but I haven't seen any reference to iwc repairs or in this case whatever Chinese movement I have in the watch. Thank you for your advice.

  2. To clarify, this is selvedge asimplefarmer mentions a couple different things that are accurate but can also be misleading. Selvedge generally means longer lasting because of that natural stitch which is stronger then a non-selvedge jean. Asimplefarmer also mentions qualities that are exclusive to Raw Denim and these are not all interchangeable. For example you can have a crappy denim that has a wash and has the selvedge stitch and you can also have raw denim (which has no wash) and not have a selvedge stitch. If your just trying out Raw Denim check out Cheap Mondays Alive and Drys they can be found for 30-60 dollars, if you have a little more of a budget check out Nudies, or Naked and Famous.

TLDR: just because its selvedge doesn't imply its raw or its of a better quality.

  3. Just wanted to mention that I love p90x and it is awesome in the summer. But during the winter where no one is going to see much of your body besides you and your women I decided to check out www.stronglifts.com who have a great starter program that builds muscle fast using a 5 x 5 technique. I'm currently doing it and I have to say after you do feel like your plateau'ing on p90x its worth looking in to. Best of all its free!

  4. And LIKE IT CAME IT WENT! Yesterday the watch stopped ticking. I have a feeling I was given the seagull movement and not a swiss eta because after only one month the watch has stopped working. Hopefully I am able to resolve this with Joshua and from the sounds of most of his reviews he is a gentlemen, but its still very frustrating that my first watch has already broken. I really hope this gets resolved soon my WRIST FEELS NAKED!

  5. Sorry for the delay haven't had a computer for awhile (just got a new macbook pro though!) but here are the pictures I wanted to put up. They are a little blurry because I took them with my phone and maybe I'll put a wrist shot up later...either way I'm really satisfied. Please if there are any movement experts out there that could help determine what it is that I have I would really appreciate it!

Thanks for all your help, I really do appreciate this forum!

  7. Well its been over a year and I finally pulled the trigger and bought a watch from Josh. When I opened the watch up I was about as ecstatic as I've ever been, I can tell that this is going to be an addictive hobby. I couldn't believe the replication on this watch I was thoroughly impressed by its feel and its accuracy when compared with the real thing. Unfortunately my watch does have a couple tell tale signs that I'm working on modifying. First I was unfortunate enough to receive a caseback which reads constellation instead of aqua terra, I was able to polish this off but it still irks me quite a bit. After looking back on Bytors reviews I am also hesitant to believe that I have a genuine Eta 2824 movement and instead I think it might be a low quality seagul movement. If I post pictures of the movement through the caseback would anyone be able to identify it? I'd really appreciate it. I think either way I am going to keep it, but it would be helpful knowledge for the future.

    Thanks,

    -Benew0

  8. I have girly wrists. Let me rephrase that, boldy petite wrists and 39mm is perfect for them (I realize the rep is 38mm). Currently I was between the IWC Mark XVI (which was a complete bust, but hopefully wm9 does something worth spending money on) and then also the Tag Heuer Classic Carrera or the Twin Time version. I know the reviews for the XVI haven't been great but what I'm not quite sure of at the moment is how great of a rep the Classic Carrera or Twin Time version of this watch is. I understand that its been mentioned in Bytor's guide yet there hasn't been a member review that I've been able to find. Does anyone have any experience good or bad with this watch?

    Thanks,

    -Benjamin

  9. I just figured upload each disc separately so when rapidshare nukes a link people don't lose the whole thing.

Ok so I'm going to have to download some kind of rar compressor for mac any suggestion? In the meantime I found all the files on rapid share already!

  10. Ok sorry for the wait but I've zipped the folders and they are 4gb total which means I need to find an uploading service which would allow this big o f a file size. Everything I have found thus far is 200 mb limit. Any suggestions?

  11. The only real problem with MacroHard is by the time XP worked right, here comes Vista, by the time Vista works right, here comes 7.

What's the point of Vista anyways? Half of your system resources get used to make the GUI look pretty.

There's always linux! I play around with Ubuntu on my second computer. It works well. I don't game anymore so I don't need a super powerful system.

I have got to disagree my theory is that they released vista in order to force everyone to upgrade their computers hardware. Now that everyone has this new hardware they can actually make good use of it with Windows 7. Ironically I have Windows 7 installed on my Mac and it boots up faster and has better battery life then Mac OSX Leopard. What is also really tough for windows is dealing with the fact that people will try to install Vista/Windows 7 on a PC that has 512 gb ram, no video card, and a p4 processor, and expect amazing results. On the other hand you have Mac who not only controls the user software experience but also the hardware experience. This coupled with Macs generally having the best hardware they just seem to have more longevity

  12. I tried the ab routine yesterday because I HATE doing ab work. Seriously, I'd bet it's been 10 years since I've done a sit-up or crunch. LOL.

I made it about 5 minutes into it. I couldn't get past the scissors. I didn't feel it in my abs, but my hip flexors were burning. They're sore today.

Hah "crunchy frog" and the one where you push your legs up in the air always hit my abs. I HATE the one where you climb your legs cause I just don't have that flexibility.

  13. The whole thing is about 4gb including all the videos in mp4 format (which works well on iPods and Blackberrys) and the workout guides/calendars. I got it originally from a torrent on mininova.org but if its easier for people to get it via rapidshare or similar I wouldn't mind uploading it.

  14. Plyo kicked my ass! I took your advice and got some whey protein today so hopefully I'll get that six pack that i've always wanted. If anyone needs the program I have it formatted for my ipod and I have no problem uploading it to rapidshare or something similar...let me know if anyone's interested!

  15. Milk isn't nearly the same as whey. It's mostly casein which is slowly digested and absorbed. Higher fat content. A whey isolate will actually have zero carbs usually. In 30 grams, mixed with 8oz water, you'll have 27g of protein, 0 carbs, 0 fat, 110 calories.

Contrast that with skim milk. A pint and a half (3 cups/24 oz) will give you 24g of protein (mostly casein), 270 calories, and 39 grams of carbs. If it's 2% milk you'll have 390 calories, 15g of fat, 39g of carbs to get that same 24g of protein.

Not to mention whey is cheap at only $0.52 a serving. At $4 a gallon, drinking 3 cups of milk will cost $0.75.

I personally use trueprotein.com because I can choose exactly what goes into it (right down to the sweetener!). I also add the vitamin pack and the aminogen (protein digesting enzymes). Skip the free flavors because they suck!

You can use coupon DLN550 for 5% off your order and 10% off orders over 16 lbs. I'm personally a big fan of http://www.trueprotein.com/Product_Details.aspx?cid=22&pid=633 The hemp protein is alright for a change of pace (with vanilla). What was all the buzz for a while was the pea protein: http://www.trueprotein.com/Product_Details.aspx?cid=22&pid=6816 Similar to whey, but cheaper.

Cliff notes: whey protein is cheaper and better than milk.

    TOUCHE!

  16. I'm just starting phase 2 so I'm about 1/3 of the way done and I've noticed results. Its really a great program and I was just wondering if anyone else on here has done it or is doing it, and whether or not they've got tips or tricks. To start off I found one trick recently while reading the health section on yahoo.com did you know Skim Milk has nearly the same carb to protein ratio as a whey protein shake? If your looking to save money on protein shakes look no further then the milk aisle!
