  1. According to the powers that be, the main difference I observed was due to the quality of the photos....
  2. Mind if I ask how you arrived at the "15%" figure?
  3. Okay. So, the $100K question is: How much is too much for an "off the shelf", non-modded Rep watch? Whether it contains an Asian or Swiss movement, what is your spending limit for a REP? At what point does it no longer make sense to buy a Rep? For me, I cannot imagine paying more than USD$600.00 for a Rep. You can get some good BNIB Gens from an AD starting at that price point (discounted below retail, of course!). What do y'all think? .
  4. No, not at all. I'm speaking of the hidden pics for the RG and SS Big Bangs, of course. Care to wager anyone? EDIT: According to the powers that be, the main difference I observed was due to the quality of the photos....
  5. I'll take that bet! How much would you like to wager? BTW, I've got the password to the pics. EDIT: According to the powers that be, the main difference I observed was due to the quality of the photos...
  6. I'd like to see the airplane cockpit that inspired it! I bet it served passengers regularly flying to Vegas... Anyway, I'll stick with my non-blinged version. And I don't care if someone thinks it's too big, gay, etc., etc.! ;-)
  7. Well, I can honestly say that the Nautilus would not be my first choice....or second...or third....or fourth....or ad infinitum.
  8. Of course, one variable we have to consider when comparing prices: is the quality of the reps the same? From what I can see, there are differences between the products being offered by the two dealers (Andrew/Josh vs. Angus). I'll leave it to all of you to determine what they are and if they make a difference ... EDIT: According to the powers that be, the main difference I observed was due to the quality of the photos.
  9. As long as there's a demand, there will always be rep watches. The issue is the cost to the consumer, i.e., how much are you willing to pay? The price will inevitably increase, but so must the quality. If the quality doesn't improve. paying significantly more for a replica watch would no longer make sense IMO. If the price is too high, the demand will decrease, and the reps will disappear. Don't you just love capitalism?
  10. Regarding the SS version, for example, the bottom line price difference is USD$45.00. (Trustytime: $413.00 shipped; Puretime: $458.00 shipped). That's a pretty good savings. And at least the price didn't jump up by a huge margin at the last minute, which I think you guys took exceedingly well!
  11. Beautiful watch! Sinn is definitely on my gen purchase list. This is my personal favorite:
  12. With an Asian 7750 movement? I'll pass on this one. Maybe if it ever comes out with a swiss.....
  13. Now that the pre-orders are done, what is the price of this watch? Thx.
  14. My first two replicas-$500.00 a piece. Panerais with Asian movements. Damn. It still hurts. I was somewhat mislead, but " I should have read the description more carefully". Yeah, right, and I should have paid less than half for each, too!.
  15. I've always been self-conscious of my small (6.5 in.) wrists, but I still wear whatever I want. It's good to know a fifth (?) of us are in the same boat!
  16. My first luxury Swiss gen: a Ti Chopard Mille Miglia. I have the original rubber tire tread strap, but normally wear a croc strap. One day I may get the Ti bracelet, but it costs almost as much as the watch I've read!
  17. Wow. That Black Magic model is beautiful. Ceramic over PVD case would be preferred unless the price gets prohibitively expensive....
  18. I've had the same problem! I can't take it off. It's different, but nonetheless a beautiful watch. No regrets here!
  19. It's a beautiful watch. I almost bought one, but the movement and the recessed date font kept me away.
  20. My watches come thru SFO, too. Usually they're released in a few hours. I would never have more than one watch shipped in a single package. It may add to the shipping costs, but it's worth avoiding the hassle. Actually, my dealer recommended that the watches be sent individually on different days. Never had a problem after receiving about a dozen watches.
  21. Thanks for the info, jfischman. One other minor "flaw" is that the time numbers and markers appear a wee bit too thick. Otherwise, it looks near "perfect". Darn, I wish the Hublot BB wasn't coming out, too!.
  22. That looks beautiful. Anyone know the reliability of the Asian Valjoux movement?
  23. Isn't there a 10% off sale going on now? I'd seriously consider one, but I'm concerned about customs as it enters the U.S. What's your experience in that regard, Sasha?
  24. Richard: You have bigger wrists than me, obviously! It looks good. In fact, wouldn't you agree that pics don't do justice to this beautiful watch? I wore it to the office today-with a suit, tie and cuffs-and I was complimented more than once. The size does take some getting used to, but after wearing a Radiomir for months it's not that big of a leap for me. Notwithstanding the knee-jerk reaction of some, I think it's a very versatile watch. Unlike some of the reps I've purchased, I like it a lot! That's my two-cents, anyway. / / /
