Watcher,
Quick question for you which you may not have the answer for if you have the gen on your wrist !
Can you tell me how accurate the timekeeping is on the BK rep?

Morning all!
I'm looking for a new cell, but not sure, don't want to buy Apple agaaaaain, allready have almost everything from them. Does anybody has some experience with it? Does it work with a Mac? Is it better then a blackberry? (The BB is without any doubt the best mobile i had)
Thanks for your thoughts...
I have an HTC Desire HD. I use 'sync-mate' to sync it with my iMac 2011. The free version only does calendar & contacts but that's all I need. Copies to iCal & address book with no problems.

+1...the AR cyclops really stands out...
Without a side-by-side though, you would never notice the bezel font colour because of different lighting and stuff...all in all...a great rep!
I agree. on it's own on your wrist I don't think you'd be able to tell the difference. On closer inspection with them side by side the differences I was able to spot were:-
Bezel font colour
The lettering on the rep dial are bigger
Rehaut engraving not lining up at 9 o clock mark
Rehaut engraving is different
incorrect hand stack
The white gold border on the hour markers is much thicker on the rep
Lack of AR on the cyclops
When you handle them, the differences are:-
Bezel moves so much more smoothly on the Gen
You adjust the 12 & 24hr hands differently.
There is a slight jerkyness to the rep second hand sweep but it is only the cheap 21j Asian movement.
The crown feels much smoother/more positive when adjusting the time.
There is a huge price difference between the two but I'm fortunate to be able to afford the Gen and there is something about knowing the watch you have on your wrist is the real deal, irespective of what people think you have.
I'm hoping to go to the Phillipines in March to attend a friends wedding and I'll be wearing it there. There are loads of cheap street corner sellers of fakes in Cebu so everyone will think my watch is a fake. I don't care - I know it's real!!
Cheers.

Hi,
I have bought a few reps from the dealers here over the past year or so. One of the latest was the GMT Master IIc as I wanted to see how it looked and felt on my wrist before buying the Gen version. Well, I now have the Gen and thought I'd post this picture of them side by side for anyone who is interested.
On it's own, the rep is ok, but by the side of the Gen, the differences are very noticeable.
The Gen is keeping time exactly, it's not lost or gained anything yet - but I've only had it 24hrs!!!!
Anyway, here's the comparison photo.
See how many differences you can see.
Happy new year to you all!!

I've gone from Gen ( Tag SS Kirium from the States whilst I was on holiday) to rep - Tag Carrera. Then Gen Tag Calibre Link S. Then back to reps Sub Date from PT then GMT master iic from wbk and lastly a DSSD also from wbk. Today i have just bought a gen Rolex GMT Master iic.
Don't know if I'll buy any more reps as I was very taken with the new Breitling Chronomat B01 ( SS with black dial on a divers rubber strap) when i was in the AD buying the Rolex today. I do have a BK Rolex subDate LV on order which i've got to decide weather to cancel or buy and sell on.

I didn't think the new WG sub date had gold pcl. He states the retail price as

After a few months as just being a 'member' on here, I've paid up and became a VIP!!
Now I can't see Stan (WBK) in the Dealers section but he is on RepGeek.com.
Anyone know whats going on, or am I having trouble with my eyes??
-
I bought the GMT Master IIc from Stan (WBK) it was $150 with shipping to the UK. The watch arrived very quickly. The time keeping is excellent ( it has the Asian 21j movement) it is staying approx 3 seconds fast as what it gains during the time I wear it, it looses when it's on it's side - crown up - over night.
I don't know how long it will run for but I'm buying the gen version for myself next year for my 50th birthday, so as long as it lasts until then I'll be happy.
If you place your order with WBK you won't regret it, he comes highly recommended.

Im trying to figure out if its worth it to buy supposed swiss movements rather than regular asian movements. The main factor im looking for is what wont break if i drop the watch on its face real bad. I know about the beat stuff, i guess. My reason for wondering this is i was planning on buying that Sea-Dweller for $198 that josh has then i look today and hes got one for $98. I really dont wanna spend $200 on reps anymore. But if they are going to last longer i guess i would spend the other 150 to get the "swiss" movement. Thanks
I bought a swiss movement rolex sub date from PT (the supreme version - wm9 v1 i think) worn it every now and again in the 9 months I've owned it. It stopped working a few days ago. I have now got to send it back to China (i think) for them to repair it hopefully free of charge. The date wheel is misaligned, the time keeping is rubbish and the pearl fell off the bezel. This cost me
-
George at WM9 has a GMT MASTER IIc in his project list. Maybe a while before we see them in the flesh but I'll be putting a deposit down on one as soon as BK announces it in his section.

My Gen Link Calibre S by the side of a poor low quality fake. I bought the Gen in Nov last year. Set it exactly to the speaking clock. Checked it last week, it's only gained 10 seconds in all that time. Very pleased with it.

I was recently in the same boat. I scanned the dealers on here and eventually placed my order for a Sub Date with PT. The watch arrived in fairly quick time but it was gaining 3 hours a day, so back it went. Several weeks later he replaced it with another Sub Date. I have not been able to get this any more accurate than 2 mins a day and I've now given up trying. The date wheel is also misaligned in the date window and the last straw for me - the pearl broke off at the weekend some time. I am very close to just binning this pile of rubbish even though it cost me

Found this small report online from the Daily Mail. Thought it'd be of interest on here.

Got mine from BK a couple of weeks ago. Had it modified (by BK) with the smaller crown and of course the Clark without etched crown.
Mine is running a stable +4 secs a day when wearing it.
I am amazed by that litte movement, running sharp and actually holding "some hours more than 40 h" reserve.
Only one issue bothers me with the watch, considered the amount of time and effort put into building this watch at WM and by BK, why not put in an extra hour the round up the edges of the case and the bracelet before assembledt? Edges is very sharp. Of course I know this is a general issue(more or less) of all reps, but I would no doubt be willing to add to the price if I could avoid the disassembly, "rounding", assembly.
All in all, very satisfied with the watch and the service. Go for it if you want a very good out of the box sub.
I may have to put mine on the Sales Forum shortly to help fund a couple of Omega gens I have in the buying pipeline.
Hi,
If you decide to sell, could I have first refusal on it please?
Any idea how much you'll want if you do sell??
-
I agree BK is your Man. He has a pre-order going on at the moment for a 50th Anniversary LV. You have until the end of this month to get your pre order in at the cheapest price. Look for BK's own section in RWG , all the info is in there.

Hi, I'm new here, after checking the collector's section, I would like to order from Precious Time a.k.a. PT but I can't find his website. Can someone tell me if there is any website for Precious Time ?
Thx in advance
He has posted a message that he will be away until the 7th Jan. Prob. gone to fetch the Submariner I've just ordered from him!!
Pick the watch you're interested in and contact him through the web page.

I've just ordered a Rolex Submariner from PT. I used him as he is based in the U.K. His communication was/is good. I haven't received the watch yet but he's told me it should be 16 days from when I placed my order. Looking forward to it. If all things go well, I intend to treat myself to a genuine Submariner for my 50th birthday in a couple of years.

Hi,
The watch (a Tag Heuer Calibre S) I ordered from watchesprice.net before I joined the replica watch forums arrived this morning. Very poor rep even for my newbie eyes. Watchesprice.net publish photos of the genuine articles and then over charge you massively for rubbish.
I'm putting this down to an expensive mistake!
Though I'd post it on here to hopefully prevent anyone else from doing the same foolish thing I did.
Here's what the watch looks like :-
-
Link calibre S for me. Hope to treat myself next year. I've got to take my Gen Kirium professional in to my AD soon for it's 2 yearly battery change and service, I'll have a proper look at it then. Wonder if they'll offer a discount?

Ordinary job?
I work for myself and am a Corgi registered heating engineer. I work in the domestic sector, servicing/repairing and upgrading domestic central heating systems. Very busy all year round. There ya go - ordinary!!!
-
Ouch! Looks like you've paid well over the odds there, I'm afraid. $180 - $220 for the Link Cal S? It's only a 21J movement - normal rep price should be around $80 :-(
Yes, I know. But I did it before I found this site and also repgeeks. You live and learn and this has been an expensive lesson! At least I have something being sent to me. Better than getting nothing I 'spose.
I hope to be going over to the U.S next year for a holiday and want to pick up the Gen. version of this when I'm over there (providing the price is right of course)
My next rep. buy will prob. be a good quality Rolex Sub and I also fancy the all black version of the Tag Golf watch. Both will be bought from trusted dealers from RWG now that I know about them!!
-
I ordered one from www.watchesprice.net before I joined this forum. They appear to be using the original pictures on their web page even though they state that they don't. I've had an e-mail with an EMS tracking number so it's on it's way. When it turns up I'll put some photos up for you to compare. I'm not experienced enough to write a review yet, so I'll just keep to my opinion of it as a newbie.

Welcome to RWG.
As a Tag fan make sure you check out By-Tor's Guide to the Best Tag Replicas
Thanks for the welcome. I've read it. Twice!! Nice to know that there are such experts on here to ask advice from. I've been looking on the sites of the collectors on here at the Rolex Submariners. I'm tempted, but want to wait and see what is going to happen with my order from www.watchesprice.net. I might treat myself to a Xmas present next month though!!

BKs 116610 LN vs Gen
in The Rolex Area

Sneed,
Did you keep a record of the cost in parts & time to complete this project?
I'd like to buy a rep ss sub-date c but with all the errors on them that have been pointed out on RWG, I'm reluctant to drop over $400 dollars on one from BK.
If the cost is reasonable, maybe you could start selling these modded versions !!
all the best
