  1. I tried all sorts of bleaches and got nowhere.

I discovered generic Drano drain cleaner works well. It can be diluted with water.

Also keep in mind that each insert react differently, for instance an MBW insert will change slower than a cartel.

You gotta keep your eye on them and pull and rinse and repeat till you get the desired effect.

Cillit bang for 3-4 min before bleaching could help. It worked for mined wich did not react only with bleach...

  2. DW has never been anything other than accomodating for returns. It's just that when you get a picture of something, you say you want exactly that, and then get something that is FUBAR, it gets frustrating. Literally, every time I order anything from him it is incorrect on the first receipt. Hands for the incorrect movement, dials that are a complete joke compared to the pics he said would be the exact dial and now this. This wasn't to disparage DW, just wondering if there are other options that don't require shelling out $1500 for a case. It appears there are no other options, so I will now get off of my horse.

Sorry to pollute the tread but I have no responses by PM. Did the parcel (gen Insert) get back to you ? I PM yo tell you I did a mistake with shipping address (new home...) and since march I 've try to contact you. Please update

  3. I bought one of those Bergeon caseback remover sets on ebay about 4 years ago. Its been one of the most valuable tools on my workbench and worth the investment.

I did the same but mine must be one of the low quality one. max 20 opening with it and 29.5 is screwed up... I need a new tool btw

  4. I think the best bracelet is the WM9 or the Noobmariner.... just pull off the SEL's and convert it to a floppy endlink. The numbers wont be correct but personally I really dont worry about little things like that. The hollow link MBW 93150 links are good.. just swap on a gen clasp and you are good to go. You're still looking at $300 give or take to build that so you may as well spend $500 or so and get an all gen bracelet. At least you can sell it later and get your money back if you want

I am curious about how you remove SEL on a wm9 bracelet and install new enlink ?

  5. I completed a couple of projects today, both of which bear an uncanny resemblance to pieces already in my collection. I plan to write about these projects in greater detail, but for now I just wanted to take pictures!

For both the 1016 Explorer and the manual-wind Daytona, I wanted pieces that were representative of the early and late stages of each model's life cycle. However, I really like folded-link bracelets, so shooting for 1987 wasn't in the cards. So let's travel about a decade from the mid-60s to the mid-70s, as riveted bracelets fell out of fashion, and Superdomes were demolished...

I really like the left one. (all you Rolex are gorgeous btw) What is a good model to start with to try it ?

  6. A, excellent pair! :thumbsupsmileyanim: I wear the twin to your Oysterdate probably 50% of the time and that is a fantastic looking chrono! Do you know which Clarks crystal was used?

Take a look at the "unusual" band I put on my silver dialed PDC:

Great bracelet my friend. If another one cross you road, catch it for me ! Or any other oyster Tudor by the way.. For the crystal I do not have a ref but as far as I understood, it was a seperate cystal and cyclop... May be Namor remerber.

    Best regards

I received these beauties some week ago but had no time to take some family shots. First one is a Tudor by JMB. A 34mm case. Originally came on a rep jubilee style bracelet but I am so used to oyster bracelet that I change it quickly, thanks to JMB again. ETA movement, gen dial, and perfect assembly by JMB.

Second one is a well know Tudor Prince pre Tiger Chrono which has already know many RWG houses, last one was Vikkyrob

  8. No, sorry, but I wish I did. It is basically a jig that holds a few of the links stationary while 1 of the them is opened. Because of the tool's rarity & likelihood of link damage when manipulated with hand tools, these days, most watchmakers refuse to do anything with these types of bracelets other than adjusting the clasp.

So does it means that THIS bracelet can not be resized without unfolding the links ? Or Adjusting only the claps would be enough for a 7" wrist ?
