  1. Not a datejust expert, but looks really nice... Just picked up a roman silver dialed daydate myself.
  2. This is exactly what I want, diamond bezel and all... Hoping it comes out soon.
  3. Dish Soap and a soft bristle tooth brush will get all the gunk and blackness off... A lLIGHT rub with a cape cod cloth with give it brilliance but still be brushed (like a rolex should be), this is not as much a concern for other brands as current rolex models consist of a higher grade of steel with just a touch brighter sheen to it.
  4. If you were paying for the kleenex at a "brand name" price, and got single ply toilet paper I would think you may not see them as the same... Same as if I order a coke and receive pepsi without prior warning. Those are two specific brands... Id be even more upset if it is advertised as coke and I receive no-name brand cola. Now multiple the cost by 100x and there should not even be a question of why this is an issue.
  5. That was my point pug mentioning the "other dealer"... The current $228 of the b&r price is higher then I personally would pay, but its also a price where I would have said hmm no way that can be Real Deal Swiss ETA 2892... Over $300 doesn't raise a flag with me.
  6. Actually V, my bringing another dealer into this equation was directly to your comment below... I wouldn't expect to pay over $200, maybe $220 dollars for the copy movement while watches with SWISS ETA REAL DEAL 2892 (FM, ect) have been available in the past at the $300 mark. Like i said earlier, I didn't buy the watch but nothing I saw from the prototype threads to the actual sales thread lead me to believe there would be anything other then an ETA REAL DEAL NO COPY 2893.
  7. Many people were upset with paul for selling "copy 2892" movements in watches as eta, but at least in his case the watches were under $200's... I didn't buy a b&r but i remember all the prototype discussions where j&a stated they were getting it made to get specs even including the 2892 instead of the cheaper 2824 or 2836, but figured with the "ETA" 2892 it would run $350-400. When I saw it going for $300 the first thing that popped in my head was NOT that it was using a copy movement, figured it was special prices they got for commisioning the run. I dont see dealers running around listing Asian 7750 as ETA 7750. A7750 or even just 7750 but not ETA. What made them pick SuperLume instead of great lume, best rep lume... because it is immmediatly appeals to the masses. Most people here want superluminova and will pay a little bit of a premium for it. I dont think they 2.1% intrest rate thought cuts it, even if two years down the road your rate is 9.xxx percent you would still get the 2.1. Would you be upset if someone sold you a car that they advertised you as supercharged only to find out they ment it was a super car with a k&n filtercharger and then changed their descriptions for the rest of thier cars to be superbly charged?
  8. I had a gen for 10 years and honestly couldn't tell you the answer.
  9. ONLY BRUSH IN ONE DIRECTION... Use caution to try very straight lines or you wont be happy with the result.
  10. One thing that is nice, is that the smp has been around so long if you beat it up a little no one would be the wiser... Before I sold my gen, then second hand was faded, the bezel was faded, ect. I was at the ad, and he said he's seen a few that looked the same that were about the same age (10 years).
  11. Its not that hard to understand, there are differant labor ethics in differant parts of the country... People in some places just work harder or are more diligent then others. Texas for example, I would imagine know more about rolexes then most customs agents (as HK says they are the texas timex).
  12. Wow that looks like garbage... I had a 007 rep with pins for a little bit. Didn't look that bad, but looks like that was someones project watch for a while.
  13. Might want to try heating it for a minute with a hairdryer, may just fall off. I know heat is bad, but what do you do if you live in the desert it will easily get close to as hot as the hairdryer for a min?
  14. (Maybe she'll comment but)Wife loves her: Rolex datejust with diamonds, FM Crazy Hours (colorful dial), PP Twenty-4. Omega Nicole Kidman. I got her the LV Manhattan GM bag (she already knows) for v-day with matching purse from dave_nyc... She got the wallet the other day and loved it, purse shipped out today.
  15. I always use superglue to fix my gen watches.
  16. I'm having issues with trc also, I get the hr ad but the rest of the page doesn't load properly and browser just hangs... Think it has something to do with the fade in deal.
  17. Not a chance here, everything is signed by the kids in the mail room and things have a way of disappearing (just last month 5 items worth 3k a piece got "lost"). Plus I dont want to raise eyebrows receiving a new luxury watch every couple weeks.
  18. I always wondered how the bags from some of the dealers here compare to you garden variety purse party bags... party bags are not the best but they are cheap with most lv's at about a $100 compared to many of the lv's here for around $200. Is it a canal street vs our rep differance or are all the bags about the same quality. And trust me wifey has her share of gen bags... one every couple months though gets daunting.
  19. Although its a pos fantasy rep, and has a wierd [censored] yellow glow. It sure seems to have a heck of a lot of ar which would be nice on some other reps.
  20. It's common with alot of white rep dials.
  21. She still thinks I/we are crazy... And she gets mad at me everytime she notices someones watch.
  22. Remove the strap and declare it "Doll House - Wall Clock"
