  1. Hey shund, said it in the shoutbox last night but hey Happy Bday Bro!
  2. Hey Shundi! Thanks and correct it is running a A7750, the running seconds seems to be running smoothly and fine with no jumpiness. The date wheel takes a couple of hours to switch over both the date and day but thats no biggie I guess, right? Infact, I'd be interested to see what people think is the IDEAL way to set the date and time on this watch, if the hands should be at a certain place when the date change is initiated for example. I know it *shouldnt* be between 10pm and 2am Firstly, thanks! I agree this is a beautiful piece - if you wear this with shirts/suits as an evening piece it really, really is in its element. The slight blue from the double AR and the glint from the gold indices along with the slightly radial dial really makes this piece shine. I've worn this with a couple of suits already and you can catch people trying to get a glimpse under your cuff I realise the questions have already been answered, but I'll reiterate for you; 1. I believe this is a IWC Portofino Chronograph 7750 with the [champagne] dial. You are correct; the dealers pics do not do this piece justice at ALL. I saw the gen a long time ago before I saw the rep and really liked it. It was only Lanikais beautiful pictures of the same watch that did the dial colour justice and made me think the rep was worth getting. 2. It is purchased exactly in this state. 3. As said; most dealers do sell this watch. 4. It is indeed double AR, actually the AR on this one is stronger than on my Seawolf. Very serious AR. The only thing I would say is that people who have purchased the black dial version of the watch say the strong AR's blue tones on black were annoying so many have sent the crystal off to chief. But with the lighter coloured dial the blue only compliments the shine. I love this watch, it was always the round lines with its pocket-watch like feel that attracted me to this piece and sets it apart from some of the other dress watches. As for rep flaws, well the dial was pretty spot on as is the fonts. The dial colour on my particular version is the closest to the gens of all the reps I believe, they make another couple of versions (one of which being White) where the gen is not sold white. The caseback is nicely printed and has a brushed middle section. The thing I have to get round to is investing in a new strap & clasp. While shown in the pics; you can see they are fine, nicely printed clasp and convincing strap pattern - but the feel of the strap is not so elegant. The "leather" feels cheap and a little plasticy and this certainly does not match the good replication quality of the watch head itself. A gen strap & clasp would be absolutely perfect, if anyone knows where I could get one, let me know!
  3. You've seen this piece before, and when I say this piece - I mean in a number of ways After a recent bit of business with a very valued friend of mine and yours where I managed to get my hands on this piece. This was my 2nd arrival in a week (after my Seawolf!). I guess I'm catching it hard. This is the best dress watch I've seen for a long, long time and the stunning effect of this dial cannot truely be captured in pictures, but I've done by best to show some of the shades it can reflect in certain lights. Still all taken with my phone (Nokia N82), heres the pictures:
  4. Really, really nice pictures. Love both the colour pallettes and the cleanness of the images. Lovely! ..And that strap? I don't have to say it.. very nice.
  5. Another new arrival: (This is going downhill quickly.. or is it uphill?)
  6. Isnt it exactly the same watch with slightly different subdials?
  7. Am I the only one who would never wear a watch branded 'Christ' ? Still waiting for "God" to bring out that Divers model..
  8. Gotta be honest; I think they are all disgusting apart from the GMT2 Pepsi.. which to be honest is pretty likely to be released much like in the picture. The other designs just look like franken parts of other brands, the 1st one is like an odd undecided explorer, although an explorer chronograph probably could be done pretty well.. the movement would have to be pretty serious though.. 2nd one is a daytona with a Subs bezel, just wrong.. and wtf at that date! (Glashutte?!) and the last one they'd have to call the "Rolex Aqua Terra"
  9. It really is a nice piece, I'd expect the lume to be out-of-this-world-burn-your-eyes-out though as the understated dial and design would really be set off by extreme lume. Does kevlar deal with water as well as rubber does ? As I assume this is the reason they've used rubber for this piece edit: Still looks like it could do with going off to Chief
  10. Pretty sure even on gens datewheels need resetting for leap years and such, yes. For a typical sub for example, has no idea what year or month it is! Which is why some large complications that allow for the dates (IWC Da Vinci) are praised movements that only need setting once every how ever many years and such. So on simple movements its quite simple.. the date changes when the hour hand has done 2 full rotations! The date sometimes comes out of synch with the real date, and you just reset them! I don't know about hte other questions I'm sure others will add!
  11. God you've got a long arm Andy! No really whats the story behind the pic? Which ones are gens/reps, what movements etc?
  12. Going for a run Fidestro? Get in on the 'tool watch' action! (For people who have no idea what this is its a GPS watch for running )
  13. Ok, so I searched through other topics etc and didn't find the answer to my question; Why does this Sub LV have BLUE Lume? I've included some other pictures just incase this is a rep and some people notice the differences although crystal height, pearl, engravings, bezel fitting all looks good to me (untrained eye and I didn't think anyone reps the rehaut engraving this good yet do they?) I thought the only models currently available with BLUE LUME on them were: The New WG SUB Deep Sea Sea Dweller ?Some Milgauss Markers in blue?
  14. Nice shots all, very "fresh" BT ^^ Mine for today (more phone pics ):
  15. So when is it being delivered RG?
  16. Reviving this thread as the auction ended today, piece sold for $2,880 (which I'm sure RobbieG will definately call a steal ) Kept my eye on the thing all the way through, unfortunately this went past the point I could afford and someone got a nice little deal on it here.. ..Although it'd be great if one of our members grabbed it! My application to the UN club remains on hold.. for now. edit: Reading this back I sound skeptical about RG calling this a steal. I'll add it definately IS a steal. Theres a similar model on WUS sales area currently priced at $4250, I was just hoping to get uber lucky
  17. Hey RG, I gotta tell ya. This to me feels exactly the same as the Gen when I had it on, can't really tell the difference and its extremely heavy! - the finish is great and its detailing is incredible. AR is HUGE on it and I can tell the new rubber strap is a massive improvement over the old version.. I'll add.. the rubber smells oddly like vanilla for some reason! Very impressed with it, seeing some great bargains on gen used Blue Steelfish recently though.. must resist.
  18. Impressive Micky! Yes I've used a Nokia N82 (same image sensor as N95 but has xenon flash and slightly better colour correction etc) and also correct I've used a 10x loupe for one of the shots, decided not to crop as I liked the look that it created
  19. Thanks guys, got this from Josh
  20. My new arrival today; seawolfy
  21. Just recieved this today, needs no introduction! I want to do a bigger piece on why this watch is particularly significant to me, but while I write that etc, heres the pictures! Oh, and by the way, I take all my pictures with a mobile phone.. This one could do with some work.. (these are the quick and nasties !) Grrr.. dust. Whatcha think? Shouts out to my boy Lani for showing this piece how it really is... beautiful.
  22. Posts like this are really what sets this forum apart from any other, amazing.. ..Just felt the need to show my appreciation of your knowledge!
  23. Actually, theres enough UN posts about these days for it to have its own forum area isnt there?
