Be careful with watcheden though, I'd go so far as to say they are the worst culprits for listing watches that they don't have in stock. Over 70% of the website must be non existent, you will most likely get a 'not in stock' please choose another after you've paid, you will get a watch, just may have to choose another until they find something they can get... at least Josh/Andrew are telling you some truth.

 

In regards to that exact watch, I have no idea, it's a fantasy and WE may have access to it, also check out timeshops and silix for such watches. The old semi good BA rep with blue hands from a few years ago definitely isn't available anymore.

We cannot deny that leather straps are the first consideration for modern watch enthusiasts because they are softer, more suitable against the wrist and more comfortable than stainless steel bracelets which might invoke allergic reaction for nickel leaking. Besides, leather strap pops out a kind of elegance. Therefore, the particular watch lovers have a bias on leather straps.

In modern marketplace, there are various kinds of leather straps including crocodile, lizard, cow and ostrich. Among so many of them, cow leather strap is frequently used in modern society.

Regarding the durability, leather strap can’t compete with the bracelet. The average longevity for a leather strap is around 2 or 3 years. However if you correctly wear it and take good care of it in daily life, you can greatly extend its life span.

Similar to other leather products, we should keep the leather strap far away from water. It’s known to all that the leather strap will become harder and crisper if soaked in the water for a long time. Therefore, you’d better not wear the wristwatch with leather strap for a swimming. Moreover, sweat is another killer because it makes the leather strap become mildewed with a long-time touch. If you are a person easily got sweaty, then you should find a wristwatch with bracelet. In the hot summer, I don’t suggest wearing the timepieces with leather straps. However, most people prepare at least one bracelet and a leather strap for everyday watch wear. Once it’s a cool weather, they choose wearing the leather strap model. While in summer, bracelet models are their prior selections. For those smart users, they usually take off the original leather strap and use the homebred one of the same specification in everyday life; only change back to the original for special occasions.

What’s more, you should keep the leather strap from strong sunshine which can make its color fading and the leather aging. And the chemical reagent can also fade the color. Besides, don’t excessively pull the leather; otherwise, it would cause crack. Thus, be gentle when wearing it.

The high quality leather strap is finished with sewing edging. And the inferior ones are usually done with sticking. Once got wed or sweated, the sticking part is prone to fall apart. Suppose you find crack trail on the leather surface or the sticking ruptured, you need to change to a new one immediately.

However, it is still not enough for the long-time use of your leather strap. It requires periodical cleaning. Use the wet and soft cloth with suitable Washing Spirit to wipe the surface, and then dry it via the cloth wetted by clean water and air dry in the cool place. For better maintenance, you can wipe it with leather oil every two months.

At 2011 Baselworld, Breitling shocked all with a new Chronomat GMT equipped with the new Breilting Caliber 04. The whole process is finished within the company workshops. Different from other Breitling timepieces, the Chronomat GMT is a special chronograph offering a smoothly functional dual timezone system.

For convenient use, a different system has been created by the watch makers and engineers, disconnecting the local hour hand from the gear train when it’s changed the timezone. No negative consequence will be caused to the accuracy and functionality by such an operation. The new Breilting Caliber 04 is derived from Breitling Cliber 01, featuring the same original architecture including a column wheel, a vertical coupling clutch guaranteeing high-precision activation, and an innovative patented recentering device for the zero-resetting hammer. The movement bearing inside the case is chronometer-certified by the COSC. Besides, the new Chronomat GMT is equipped with two central hour hands. The first matches the minute hand and runs over, and the second is tipped with a red triangle and runs in 24-hour mode.

To adjust the 12-hour hand to local time, the user simply pulls the crown out to position 2 and turns it in either direction by the number of notches corresponding to the number of hours composing the time difference. The date display is indexed to this 12-hour hand and changes automatically if required, both backwards or forwards. The red-tipped hand keeps track of home time on a 24-hour basis.

Entirely made in Switzerland, the Chronomat GMT may be teamed with a choice of various straps and bracelets offering a variety of styles and uses: the classic touch of Barenia or crocodile leather, the sporty spirit of rubber straps, and the sturdy steel Pilot bracelet. The retailed price for such a masterpiece is only $9470, perhaps a little expensive for common people but really worthy of purchase.

You can't keep a good counterfeiter down for long.

But now that idolreplicas went down, I wonder if Watcheden will be next, I was planning on ordering a few inexpensive reps from there, but now I hesitate.

Tag Heuer Monaco is an iconic creation, favored by many watch lovers and collectors. It’s really funny and excited that Tag Heuer will come with a distinctive and creative Monaco!!

A few months ago, Tag Heuer started a project with the New York City Campus, called “The Art of Watchmaking”. The purpose is to have design students re-imagine the iconic Tag Heuer Monaco. No matter what the final result will become, it to some extent helps Tag Heuer in its future design directions.

The students participated in this project were divided into groups which compete against one another. With cooperation, wisdom and effort, three groups of students won with their final works showed as below.

I really appreciate the intelligence and imagination of the designers; however, the charm of these watches only refers to design but not movement. Tag Heuer will reserve the right to actually produce these watches. If they really like the design, they will of course put them into creation. That’s to say, any of the three watches is possible to become a masterpiece in future.
