  1. I have tried hard not to get involved in the Rolex Rep dept. stashing spare pennies till I can get the "real deal" for fear that my accountant (wife) will not allow such a purchase if I am content with the rep. But when I saw the $29.00 Daytona I pulled the trigger just for kicks. And didn't wear it for months finding excuses to not, oh it's too small, or today will be the day the movement explodes. I finally put away the Pams and Omega's and strapped it on. Wow, from my first stop at the coffee shop I have gotten compliments and looks. EVERYONE knows this watch, and I have to say has more presence than the biggest 44mm pam I own.

Looks like I am a convert, been admiring a few DSSD's, and air kings as well.

  2. I don't post much but I wanted to share this. Just got this Elgin A-11, This is one of those standards for Military collectors. It certainly isn't rare nor very expensive in relation to others. I have only gotten one compliment before today on the regatta 222, but as I was picking up my wife's xmas present at the jewelers a guy (wearing a very nice Rllie YM) said, Nice watch, my Father was burried with his a few years back. Some BAd pics.

    Tiny in comparison

  3. Very Nice Here is what I am wearing Today.

It's a Taursus 709 slim, my new carry and conceal. Same size as my old walther, but 9mm. I'm trying to consolidate caliber.

This is what I keep in the car.

XD 9mm and I think it goes better with the Pam222

  4. It's crazy that in a age of instant gratification, we put ourselves through this. I have been running home after work to get to the mail, I feel like a 9 year old waiting for that Pop gun ordered from sending in proof of purchase codes off the kellogs box. Do they even have those anymore?

  5. I purchased a watch from a memebr here in April, and was told it was sent on 4-27. When should I expect it shipping from Canada? Is this a customs thing or am I just being an impatient Noob. I Know now I should have offered to pay for some tracking, the not knowing is killing me. I was Okay untill I received something this week from China that I ordered around the same time. UHHHG

  6. I was just in Portland in Sep. Impressive Olympic sailing village there. And of course the French showed up in Bendyslows. Like everything in New Orleans racing is laid back. "Ready to Tack", "Not yet, I need to finish my Drink".

Living on the south coast of the UK, I've done a lot of yacht sailing/racing over the years. Most summers, there is a "European Firefighters Sailing Challenge" where firemen (and women) from across Europe get to battle it out on the briney :boat::boat: and then get to battle it out in the bar afterwards. :drinks: Generally, we, the Brits go to have a bit of a laugh but the French Firefighters (Sapeurs Pompiers) take it VERY seriously and turn up with stripped out, factory Beneteaus !
  7. Before this turns into some sort of flame thread, and the E thugs show up let me say. I never blamed triplhd for sending a busted watch. The watch was shipped cocooned in bubble wrap. I have no idea how it was broken, just want to fix and am looking for advice. Like I said I am brand new to this hobby, and don't want to get banned on post # 8.

I have purchased a case opener, and an assortment of watch tools. I will give it a shot. I have built cars and rebuilt motorcycles, let me have a try at something a bit more precise.

The yellow circles seem to be the original glue that haeld it all together.

  8. I am a complete noob to this world.

As I wait for BK to finish my first rep, i got impatiant and had to buy something. So I bought an Omega deville from another member. some parts came loose in shipping so I want to fix them. Honestly I was going to find a reason to break it open anyway. Question is what do I use to re-affix the pieces?

  9. I just subscribed to this thread. As a noob I have spent ridiculous amounts of time scanning this board and flipping between pictures and dealers website. I have even made trips to the gen dealers to try on different brands.

But with such fandom for Pams, how come none made it to the top 10? Excuse the question if it is dumb, but until two weeks ago I had never even heard of them, and now I am virtually infatuated with them.

  10. Found this site through pure curiosity, bought a Replica in Brazil while on Vacation 10+ yrs ago (Still have it somewhere.) And been facinated ever since. Any way looking for advice and mentoring. I love Toys of any sort, so let the Madness begin.
