  1. There's plenty of humorous avatars around, whether it's a tombstone implying a husband/boyfriend was murdered because a materialistic wife/girlfriend didn't get the watch she requested, or a set of handle-bars on a girl's back suggesting a different kind of ride.

Strictly out of curiosity, how about an avatar that's not sexual? What about humor involving religion? I've seen this on another forum, but would something like this also call for cries of censorship?

    Gio,

You have proven yourself to be nothing but rude and childish.

  2. I find myself frequenting and posting on this forum less and less because of some of the avatars and sigs. I just don't feel it is a necessary part of a watch forum. Every month I pay my membership I wonder why I continue to support a site that allows porn to be linked to watches...be it soft porn, hard porn or pictures items of a general sexual nature. Some offend me, some I just find in poor taste. There are times I can't help but wonder why I am part of a community where some of the members obviously have very little respect for women.

Posting an avatar with one woman's hand on another woman's genitals is classless. A way to express yourself? Please. :yucky:  How about expressing yourself through your posts rather than a girl's crotch?

  3. Much has to do with the heredity of the dog, as well as the stupidity of the owner. There are such things as bad lines...dogs bred to bite/attack/fight/kill. Specific traits are passed down the line and become hard to "breed out". Unfortunately, there are too many people breeding dogs...dogs that should NEVER be considered for breeding.

I raised and trained Schutzhund. All my dogs were pink papered, imported from Germany, and were trained to either SchII or SchIII level.

I would consider a Pit a good dog if-and only if- the parents were Schutzhund trained to at least a II level. There is no way on this earth that I would ever have a Pit in my home otherwise. I feel the same about Rotties as well. There are just too many stupid dogs that come from stupid owners and breeders.

What really pissses me off is to see some dumb-ass walking his Pit or Rot with a spiked collar, the dog is not neutered, fat, and limping from hip dysplasia. Oh…and the Rotties with skinny heads…you just KNOW those are poorly bred dogs!

  4. Ok, so now that the honeymoon is over and I took off my happy eyes I have noticed a couple things that I would like to get some advice on please.

I recently purchased a “perfect” sub from Josh and wrote a review which I posted on the other RWG site. I STILL like the watch very much but want to change a couple things.

There were some modifications made before it was shipped which makes it the “perfect” version including:

Modifications : Watch Case, Crown Guards is modded to correct shape as genuine. Bracelet edges is modded smooth and whole bracelet is repolished to hariline low sheen finish.

Waterproofing : Additional seals are add on and watch is pressure tested to 5 bars... 50m waterproofing..

Movement is completely overhauled and re-assembled, serviced and re-lub with 5 different types of Swiss imported movement lubricant, Calibration to +5 secs per day.

The issues I am having are with the date mag being too far over to the right and the pearl but I’m not sure if the date window and mag are too far right or just the mag. I have not contacted Josh about this because I wanted to get some advice and see if it would be worth the shipping, money, and possibly having the watch come back worse than when it left.

Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

I am sorry, it must be my mood for the evening, but I had a good laugh over this. Yes, your date window is 1mm too far to the right, but you would actually consider sending all the way back to Josh--risking customs and the expense of shipping-- for issues that are common in reps? No rep is perfect. Why don't you send it to The Zigmeister or RBJ for some mods?

  5. very interesting post. i have a (rusted out movement) genuine rolex that i am going to be turning into a frankenwatch one day for my wife (see pictures below). she doesn't really want it ... but she's getting it! anyway, i was doing the same thing just the other night. only difference is the watch was a datejust with a jubilee bracelet. luckily for me, the watch fit her on the smallest possible size fitting with screws. i am curious to know if this could be done with the jubilee bracelet as well. if so, i might try it because the clasp could be a little better positioned for her. thanks for the tutorial. big watches on girls is hot! watchgrl, you need to get a pam 049 now. that will be another purchase for my wife that she doe not want. lol. i love it.

I would be willing to bet the process to snap a jubilee bracelet is the same as the oyster bracelet. Let us know how it goes! In order for the clasp of a large watch to fit on my tiny wrist, the bracelet has to be short on the 6 side.

I had a gen 49 for a few months, but I traded it for a gen ExpII. I really want a Daytona (waiting for a good one :whistling: ) as my next large watch. I am thoroughly enjoying my ExpI and would love to source a gen bracelet and dial to "finish it off".

  6. I don't think so.....!

    1. The case is the wrong shape.

    2. The 3 / 6 / 9 indices are TOTALLY wrong.

    3. The dial printing is way off.

    4. The hour hand is too short.

    5. The minute hand is too long.

    6. The seconds hand is waaayyy too long.

Everything is WRONG about this watch.

Just my wee joke...............winding you up.........very nice watch.....I hope you enjoy it........

And here I was thinking, "what have you been smoking?" ;)

  7. So, how do you remove more links from an oyster bracelet even AFTER all the “removable” links have been removed?

I am a woman who likes large watches. Even after all the links have been removed, the watch is too large and --more importantly-- the clasp doesn’t sit correctly under my wrist. I learned how to do this from a Rol*x AD, and have done it to my own watches ever since. This procedure is permanent, but it is a nice alternative to an improperly fitting watch.

BTW, thanks to El for a wonderful Explorer. I wore it into an AD yesterday and I’ll be dammed if I could see the differences between the rep and the gen.

    1. Open the bracelet and lay the watch flat. You will see the Oyster bracelet has 3 sections. We are going to force these sections apart in order to see (and remove) the pin. Please note: this will permanently damage and remove this link!!!

    2. With vice grips securely holding one side of the link, take a bolt cutter (however, heavy duty wire cutters will also work) and line it up with the junction of the 2 pieces you want to separate. Lightly wiggle and squeeze to get the bolt cutter tip to start separating the links. Do this on both junctions.

As you can see, the link to be removed is permanently damaged.

    3. Grab a separated link with a vice grip. Hold—don’t crush—the link. Use another vice grip to hold—not crush—the other outside link. Gently wiggle the vice grips while separating the 2 outside links from the center link. Pull apart.

    Here is the removed link

    4. Reattach bracelet. This does change the perfect taper, but it is less noticeable in person than it is in the picture.

    5. The result is a properly fitted watch! Easy!

  8. That is a red flag, but you have to determine where they put the regulator. Apparently none of them were set exactly between 'fast' and 'slow' (+ & -) and if it's waaaay over to the right, that would explain why it's running fast.

If not, yeah, I'd query the dealer for a replacement....

    And Hello, Paris guys!

Thanks. It is pushed way over to the right. Will give that a try and see what happens!

  9. That is my next purchase. I had a middie gen and sold it to fund my t/t gen datejust last year. It was a bit big and heavy for me, so I am sure I will love the ladies size rep.

Would love to see some wrist shots.

Other than the plat dial and bezel, what are some of the obvious differences between this rep and the gen?
