Didn't have the confidence or knowledge to do it myself.
I took it to a local watch repairer who did the job for

HELP.... putting my watch on this morning and it slipped out of my hand and dropped on a wooden floor - watch still working fine put the silver frame around the day / date window has come away. How would I strip the watch to fix this - my only experience in watches is to remove the back and replace a battery!!
Many Thanks,

Hi there,
I am planning on a trip to Canada this summer. Just wondering if someone can give me some detailed instructions what I need to do / what would happen to me if I wear a rep for the entire trip. What about the sterile "homages" (like homer's or vac's MM homages)?
Thanks!
Interesting question.

If this is the foldover deployant clasp (FC5014) then I'm afraid the aftermarket options are almost zilch. TH designed the clasp that way specifically in order to keep owners buying very costly gen straps.
I said 'almost' zilch, but fortunately there are a few - Jurgen and Squinky on TZ but IMO I'd have a serious look at seller tango252 at that auction site - e.g. listing 220391477196 - fantastic quality for the price (I have a spare for my gen Monza) plus Al's a very nice guy and will see you right.
Thanks for that - looking at ordering one from tango252.

I recently purchased a white Carrera DD with leather strap - but as already discussed in this forum the supplied strap doesn

WOW. Its a beauty, complicated without looking busy. Too bad I have small wrist to carry it off
I have the exact same watch with - same leather strap and I would consider myself as having small wrists but really once its on it doesn't look out of place.
Agree - I aslo need to change the strap - any suggestions anyone as to were best to get one from??

Mine arrived today - this is my first 'super' rep and I am totally amazed by the quality and feel of it.

Ordered a Tag Carerra DD from Andrew and its been waiting in customs since Tuesday 26th!!
26-05-2009 19:52 International Hub AWAITING CUSTOMS CHARGING
26-05-2009 19:52 International Hub Arrived in destination country
25-05-2009 00:13 Delivery Agent - GUANGZHOU - PTT Left origin country
All seems a bit slow at the moment - normally clears customs in a day at the most.

Well, thats because i got both watches...and switched the straps! You could ask for a black strap to be made available?
Thats what I did - ordered it from Andrew and asked him to put a black strap on it. Must admit I am impressed with his quick responses. Hope I'm just as impressed with the watch!
-
Couldn't hold off any longer just put my order in with Andrew for the white one!
-
Yeah, that was during the first hour that i opened the parcel. Then I tweaked the day & date wheels and its been perfect ever since (since wednesday afternoon)
as per the wristshots
Is it an easy adjustment to make for a newbie?

Importr, great pics, thanks.
I was planning to order my black version any time soon, but the white dial looks awesome, extremely elegant for a sport watch.
Decision, decision, decision...
Enjoy your new pair.
After trying on the the black one at the AD's yesterday I too was going to order the black but after seeing the pictures of the white / silver I think I'll go for the white....... I think!

Got my two today!!
They are f-kin brilliant! Both watches are well made and are feel heavier than the previous Carrera (obviously). Both are very well made - as good as, if not better.
The details are all there...the white dial one is awesome! It looks very classy with the polished bezel and leather strap. I love em!
Thanks Joshua...dealer feedback coming soon!
Nice one. They look gorgeous!
Thanks for the pics - I'll have to get my order in - the white one with leather strap for me I think.

Tried on the black dial and a date version carerra this lunchtime at a AD's so that I could compare the two side by side for size and this watch is awesome looking - the AR makes a massive differnce. One of the worries I had, being small wristed, was that it would look way too big and just 'shout' out but it felt just right and in comparison to the date version its not that much more bigger looking on the wrist.
I was going to order the white dial version but having tried the black on I think I just might get that - with leather strap.
Still not found the white dial one at any AD's and the saleman at the shop wasn't aware they did one or likely to stock one.
Anyone seen the white in the flesh??

Now this has thrown a spanner in the works for me I was interested in getting the white Carrera Chrono Date - but now that I've seen this in white as well ..... hmmmmm .... just spoilt for choice!

Just seen that Precious Time have just got the Tag in and it looks better on their site. Is it just that they have a better set of pictures or would it be a different supplier ie better rep??
-
Just can't decide between these two watches both in my opinion are lovely watches I was struck by the Tag first but once I'd seen the IWC that took my fancy as well - so I need advice from the collective enthusiasts here as to which one to buy?

Thanks for the pics - that looks good.

Don't worry too much about the straps. Bracelets are another issue as they are sometimes not available separately, but with straps, all you really want is the tang buckle. With very regular wear, a strap might only last 6 months (even a gen one)...so you go through them. This being said, you will probably want to look at getting another strap anyways regardless.
Focus on the watch head...the rest you can swap out inexpensively.
Valid point.

Well everybody thanks for help, so I decided for this model,
http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=1618 , gonna order it soon, hope it is right choice :-P.
Been looking at this watch for a while - debating with myself wether to order it or not - wasn't too sure about the white stitching?
I definately wanted a leather strap - so would be really interested in your thoughts once you receive it.
