the TCO ? come on - the regular gen owner puts the watch to a service if somehting is broken ... this can be after a looong time if its a gen Rolex 15 years ? maybe longer .... just like Seikos they run and run also thanks to synthetic oils - and if you believe it or not there are independent watchmakers out there too no magic there just simple but robust movements cheers, Frank

it all depends how deep your diving in to the Submariners - i had countless rep-generations of the watch and 3 gen Subs. i agree that the WM9V2 - not V3 is a nice rep and its a LOT of fun to mod it with gen parts. but there are this little thinks that are still off - that drives me personally crazy + if you want to have it nicly modded you can end up close to 50% of what you pay for a used Sub .... cheers, Frank

i whould reccomend a watch without Box and papers - they start at around 2500 Euro here - a Sub 16610 is not a good investment - you can alsways sell is easy - but it will not raise in the price like some vintage pieces before you get the older Sub - check the subtile differences like SEL and lume if i whould wear the watch every day i whould def. get SELs and SL .... so go for it - but take your time. you can sell the WMV2 also for a good price here . cheers, Frank

the shine - the GENEVA shine i agree - visually ist hard - very hard to call out todays reps - but fat SELs you could spot if you try im more not happy with the build quality of the reps - on my skyland i had to replace the movement - an my SA - from the same factory - the whole case and finally the steelfish got trouble with the "ETA" inside - but all reps from this factory are extremly accurate . beside the tecnical problems there are also some QC issues like : not centered bezel, lumedots - badly finnished bracelet ect ... if you can life with this and dont plan to keep your watches for a life time - welcome to RWG cheers, Frank

without reading the hole thread i kindly disagree with the TS example : please try to get new AR for your rep Skyland - impossible - you simply can not remove the crystal without destroying the hole watch and if you dont see and feel the difference betw a gen and rep Rolex holding them next 2 each other ? i dont know - maybe you should not wear sunglasses all the time not bashing reps here - they are okay - like always : you get what you pay for cheers, Frank

well well well - reps may be getting visually better ... the quality goes down one of the reason i stopped buying reps - think about the nice genuine watches you could have bought with your hard earned money but on the other hand you made some asian cocksuckers that call themself dealers very very happy cheers, Frank
