  1. My gen 177k has AR coating on the inside only if that helps.

I had a project completed by Vac recently and sent my crystal to Cheif for his great AR service. My question is what type of AR coating comes on the Gen, single?

I have looked around and read many threads but there was some confusion as to opinions on this, some said single some said none and others said double????

Also, if it the gen does in fact come with single sided AR and I want to remove it what is the best non dremmel (I do not own one) method to remove it? Cape Cod?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  2. Holy crap on a stick, thats an f-ing stunning strap - I am now sending you mind controlling thoughts to send that beauty to me......go on.

Have to agree tan PAV is a classic! Otherwise tan to cognac colors seem to pop the most.

Here's an inbound frankenstrap that I had Zack(Red12) put together for me -this will be going on my Pre-A 009.

I thought the new Dirk olive/brown shark would be nice but the color is too chocolate and seems flat paired with the PVD -just my 2 cents.

  3. These three straps are just so.........I want.

    3) HKTAN/V Metta Catharina strap. Made by HKTAN with a piece of hide I provided him. I adore about everything on this strap(colour smell craftmanship...). It has a sewn-in MX Logo buckle as well.

    4) Mario Paci PAV99 hide with sewn-in MX logo buckle. Amazing strap as well full of Panerai history and it has now developed a very nice patina. The darker it gets the better.

    5) Mario Paci PAV91 hide with sewn-in MX logo buckle. Very unique hide pattern with a wonderful burgundy colour. Love it.

  4. I think the 6497 movement in general is a noisy ticker - I own a genuine 177k and a Marina Militare with an asian 6497, they are both the noisiest watches I own, although the asian movement is marginally louder.

My other watches are all solid case backs with anti-magnetic shields - I guess this absorbs the movement noise whereas the case on the 177 is open backed with no magnetic sheilding.

I actually like the ticking, reminds me I have a stunning mechanical watch on my wrist. :)

  5. Time for Project No.2 and sell that beauty to me.... B)

  6. Hi, try contacting Military Time - www.jacksontse.com They sell cases and crown/crown guards so chances are they will sell you the CG screws, I have found the communication very good.

    Good luck.

    Hello,

I have a 177H from Andrew and I was walking in the street, pushing the stroller of my kid when the screws of the crown guard pop out and disappeared somewhere on the sidewalk. Thanks to my lucky star, I felt the crown guard felt off so I still have it.

It seems that the screws that might fit would be 1,8 mm diameter. But I am desperately looking to get some. I looked around but could not find it anywhere. Anyone might know where to get some 1,8 mm screw to fix my poor uncrownded PAM?
