  1. I am looking at getting my wife a TAG rep for Christmas.  The ones she has liked are the F1 Ceramic's:

I am curious how the 'diamonds' look in the reps.  Are they just crystal?  Are they just low grade diamonds?  TAG Ladies F1 diamonds are already lower quality compared to any of their other lines, so I am curious if someone has some pics of these watches and the quality of the stones?

    Thanks!

  2. Think that's just the new Rolex 116333. It's the one that I am looking into getting. Looking at Josh and Andrew's website.... the only one that they have doesnt come with the oyster bracelet but the jubilee bracelet. I msged them and both said they would be able to pop the oyster bracelet on it for me which would make it like the 116333.

    Regards,

  3. I have had mine for about 6 months and think it's an awesome out of the box rep. Only complication I have run into is that the rotor on my movement stopped engaging or siezed so I have to take it to my watchsmith to have him take a look at it. (I have to manually wind it atm). Dont know if this is common among everyone... I might have just got a bad movement or something. I might have to contact my dealer and see what he says.

BTW I purchased the Asian ETA clone.

  4. I have an ETA 2824-2 movement in my rolex milgauss GV rep and it works great, however, the watch has begun to not wind on it's own. I can manual wind the piece fine and it will work for the time period, but does not automatically wind. Thinking this could just be the rotor seized up? Can I just take off the caseback and apply some lubrication to be able to free up the rotor?

    Thanks!

  5. Got it in. It looks good from what I have seen. There are a few things which I notice on the piece.

    1) The date font is not accurate compared to the gen.

    2) The tag emblem / plaque is slightly rotated.

Other than that it is looks flawless compared to the gen. The current gen has a skeleten caseback and quick release bracelet I know... but those are minor.

  6. I've have it about a 1 year and a few months ago the Day dial stopped working and now the watch is completely non-functional. Does anyone have a suggestions on where I can bring my Aquaracer back to life at?

Just look in the forum's repair section. Any of them would be trusted. If you have a local watchsmith that works on reps, that would be another way to get it done faster probably.

  7. It's a beautiful gen watch. I try it on regularly :D Although as far as reps go... if you are going for the most accurate TAG's... I would stick to By-Tor's review section + the new Aquaracer 500M because that rep is also amazingly accurate compared to the gen. Just my 2 cents.

  8. Hi guys,

I don't think it compares very well (accuracy wise). I recall this watch had many glaring flaws. It's also the reason why it hasn't sold a lot here.

Go for the older Link if you want an accurate rep. If you simply like the design and want the day-date I say go for it. Live a little, worry less.

I went ahead and ordered it. I'll post some pics when it comes in :D

  9. Hey guys,

I am looking into getting the Tag Link Chrono Day Date but do not know how it compares to that of the standard Tag Link Chrono that By-Tor reviewed. According to the one that By-Tor reviewed, it is one of the best made Tag reps on the market today. I have been a fan of the day - date chrono that has the Tag Emblem plaque rather than just writing and the way the watch looks in general. I saw that Josh and Andrew both have the Black and White versions of the Day-Date but am just wanting to see someone's opinion of the piece that might have it or have seen it.

    Thanks!

BTW: Here's a link from Josh's site of the black dial that I am looking at --> http://www.perfect-hour.com/tglk10002-link-chrono-daydate-ssss-black-a7750-chrono-p-6512.html

  10. I,ve just bought one for my better half from Silix, blown away but the quality, all I need to do no is figure out how to adjust the bracelet!!!

The bracelets of any link is a pain to size. It's the sole reason why I hate selling links at my store. Once you have the right tools it is not too bad. Just push out a pin and a small screw driver does the trick. Just take it to someone with the right tools and it should be a quick job. My wife loves her link. Most comfortable bracelet I've seen (compared to my SMP or Milgauss)

  11. I am looking into getting the Rolex Milgauss from one of the reputable dealers and am curious as to the differences between some of the movements offered in the Milgauss GV. (Asian 3131 Clone, Swiss ETA 2836-2, Asian 2836-2)

There is a considerable price difference between the 3 different movements offered, all beating at 28800 bph. From what I have gathered, it is not worth the money to go with the 3131 clone as it pretty much just adds a bridge to the balance wheel which is not needed. As for the comparison between the swiss ETA 2836-2 and the Asian 2836-2, I am not very familiar. Would you warrant the extra $70 for the Swiss ETA 2836-2?

    Thanks!

  12. I would have to agree saying that if you are wanting it as close to gen as possible right out of the box you'll have to go with the standard aqua terra or railmaster. The seamasters, POs, and Speedmasters will need a little work to become very close to gen. Most will not have the best AR done though out of the box.
