  1. I think it is not possible, as the manual case is made for the 6497 movement which is one of the thinnest movements around (4.5mm), while the 7750 is one of the thickest (7.9mm).

Besides of that, you would also encounter stem alignement problems as already foreseen by Drulee.

Finally, and especially about your crystal idea, the rehaut of manual case is much shorter than that of auto case. So you might also encounter problems to have the cyclops fit without touching the minute hand.

  2. How do i do the coffee/cigarette method? thanks

This is a translation (reworked a bit) from Italian for the cigar method:

Ingredients: a cigar, a lighter, a glass, a piece of soft transparent plastic like those used to protect glass crystals, two white paper handkerchief (or one white paper handkerchief and a piece of Rodico), a little patience.

    Procedure:

    1. Cover the dial parts that you do not want to re-color (e.g. text) with the soft plastic. Do NOT use adhesive tape!

    2. Place the dial and hands on the white paper handkerchief (its white color will help to evaluate the color change). Place the glass upside-down on the dial and hands.

    3. Light the cigar, inspire a large blow of smoke, slightly lift a side of the glass, blow the smoke into the glass. (Don't place the cigar under the glass as someone said, this is completely unuseful as the cigar rapidly estinguishes its light due to air shortenage).

    4. Repeat step 3 every 10 mins or so until you get the desired color.

    5. Once done, remove the plastic, then remove any possible nicotine residuals off the dial by gently using a soft, clean paper handkerchief or the Rodico.

    6. Enjoy the results.

  3. If you look at the Gen, the R of paneRai and the other script has a straight LEG on the letter, the newer modern version of this watch has a curved leg on all R's

    Oh. Thanks!

I think that I'll go and live with it. Actually, there are many more evident flaws to live with in this watch...

It is a rep of the 341, that is not an exact copy of the Egiziano as per se. So I won't go for 100% accuracy.

    Well, not even 60% I suppose. :black_eye:

  4. good to see you posting M !!!!!

it's an honour to have your beautiful Wempe on the thread..

Good to be here, R, and it's a honour to me to post my 147 close to your awesome 204.

if I remember correctly you also modded the strap in that it's shinier with some substance you applied to it ???

Wow R, you have good memory!

Actually, I just oiled the strap and coloured the original white stitching in rose gold with a Letraset magic marker. I would encourage everyone to use this method, it is easy and absolutely inexpensive and it gives good results.

A couple of pics to better show my point.

The original watch & strap from Josh. Besides the unlikely rose gold, I could not really stand the terrible white stitching:

still the only member with the older PR reserve model (I forget the #)with the correct date font. !!

You teaser! You know I cannot stay indifferent to such a call!

It's my 090 -- and even if the font is not really perfect, still it is a decent improvement over the standard font:

    Be Well my Friend !!!

Be Well You too R! And congrats to you and Drulee!

  5. Not only a nice size, but an awesome watch you have there Lani! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I remember Ssurfer as having the only other one that was posted ..

Correct Lani. Just, mine is the "other" 42mm radiomir, the 147.

Please let me submit a couple of pics of it once again. I had it re-plated in true rose gold, 7 micron thick, and the first pusher fixed. And I still am quite proud of it. :D

  6. I just got mine a few days ago:

Sorry, no wristshot -- just two hours after it arrived I had it disassembled already. A good starting point for a vintage Egiziano project.

    A gen for comparison:

(BTW, the latter pic is exactly the one that got me hooked to the rep world and forums. At that time I knew absolutely nothing about PAMs, but I casually found it on a book and it made me google for Panerai...)

  7. Thoughts on brown dial versatilility?

Well, Ti case + brown dial absolutely require a swede brown strap.

And, personally, I think that a black dial w/ black strap is surely more versatile than a brown dial w/ swede brown strap.

    Much less sexy too, though.

But why this problem? Do you really think you will stay with only one PAM once you will have one?

  8. Yikes!! Especially when you're surfing lume posts naked.:shock::shock:

If you had the same air temperature and humidity we have here these days, you too would take a shower three or four times a day... and, after a good shower, what better than drying while having a look over at RWG?... :D

  9. SS, THIS WILL INDEED BE REPPED BY DSN, IM DEBATING BETWEEN THE 57 OR 27B ANY THOUGHTS?

    Great news indeed!

Just, I am unsure on what you mean with "debating between the 57 or 27B" (apologies, it's because of my poor English).

The 57 is like a 028B, but in Ti case and with a brown dial instead of black.
