  1. I'd go with an unlocked tri or quad band phone, then just pick up a prepaid sim card where ever in the world he happens to be travelling. It's a lot cheaper than having to pay for a "world plan" and roaming charges. The only downside is that your number will change with each prepaid sim from each country. I've done this.

Depending on the phone model and the connection speed of the country that he's in, he could also opt for prepaid data rather than voice, and then run voip over the phone. And that way he'd get to keep one number. I've not done this, it's only in my theoretical realm right now, though I'd love to try it out on my next trip abroad.

  2. woot! sweet... :) thanks a lot hk45ca. yeearh about my email.... lol i've gotten so used to using that to keep track of my emails from different boards that i dont even think about how that may trigger spamkillers. i should wean myself off, but i like not having to set new filters up each time i join a new board.

dark side it is, and i have been warned. thanks zed.

  3. Hey jfreeman, good for the both of you to wanna try and skip the percocet and try something else first.

It looks like what you are sourcing is a peony and licorice concoction. Gan cao = licorice, and Bai Shao = peony. There seem to be some references by the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine on how to use it and its indications. There seem to be a few companies manufacturing the pill form of this. Blue Poppy Enterprise and Kan Herb Company are two who seem to have this formula and it looks like it runs around $30 or so per bottle of 100. There are also online links to buy these pills.

    Check your pm for more.

  4. roflmao you two. but pug's been reinstated so i read, and i'd like to follow suit but i certainly have none of the pug fame/charm. :D so is it a closed forum then, or is it as ken said just a ban-happy forum and for whatever reason my screen name's bad or something? :)

  5. I've mostly been a lurker here and trc, but recently did join rwi. Briefly. I joined them on a Thursday or Friday, and had access for the weekend. Then at the start of the next week, I tried to log in there and got a message that I was banned. I'm not sure why and I haven't gotten anything in my email.

I tried replying to the email address that sent me my registration approval notice to ask about why, but I haven't gotten a response (that was a few weeks ago now).

So I'm curious: Is RWI a closed forum to newbies? If not, what did I do? And how can I get in touch with the admin or mods there besides the RWI Admin email address that I have from my registration email?

    Thanks!

  6. well, I try to log in and I get:

    Critical Information

You have been banned from this forum.

Please contact the webmaster or board administrator for more information.

Have tried several times now. Anyway, I sent an email to the admin there asking about it. Thanks for looking to see what my status is though... :)

  7. well, i guess they can't stop the signal... but i'm still confused. i just joined last thursday and don't even think i've had enough time to poke around fully, much less post, and i've already been banned from rwi. don't know why either, but i guess at least pug's back there now... again, i'm confused....

  8. Gave her the watch this morning, she was thrilled! I'm so happy, and she just loves the watch.

Servicing doesn't just waterproof it, it also cleans out all the dirt and crap that gets in at the factory (they're likely not class 100 clean rooms... haha) and they lubricate everything properly, because that doesn't really happen at the factory either from what I've read here. Your movment will be calibrated and last years longer.

I had the band swapped on this one (Joshua did it at my request) to more accurately match the current watches. Since the Ladies' versions of these watches are less popular, they haven't updated the date wheel so the 6s and 9s are not closed. But everything else is really excellent on this watch, certainly close enough to pass for what it's supposed to be while on the wrist.

Having the watch on a winder for a week before giving it to her, I set the time via my computer, set to sync with international accurate time, the watch was within 11 seconds over the week.

    Thanks, Joshua!!!!!

Quick question: which model is this?

  9. I seem to see mostly mens' watches in the reps. Are there any good womens' rep watches, particularly Omega? Also, I tried searching on some of the questions I had, and it seems it's catchers catch can when it comes to swimming with the reps and chrono functions. Are there any good Omega reps that would be able to withstand swimming (I'd check it out with a watch shop first of course) and that have a working chrono?

    Thanks!
