Hi All...again thanks for the advice and input. I will provide a full update soon but I am now trying to find a member near De Pere Wisconsin.
I am going to post a request in the general section...
-
Again thanks for the replies...
As you can probably see from the latest pic attached there is definately something going on. This was a result of me asking the seller to send me a picture with a tag to demonstrate they were pics of the actual watch...(more paintshop experience needed me feels).
What is now intriging me is what does he have for sale given I have said I would pay through Paypal...any thoughts.
This is a good experience for me, being a totally noob collecter. Thanks to Mickey Padge my first purchase has left a very sweet taste and this interaction is learning me the other side of it all.
BTW we have agreed a price of $330

Well I can't help with the bits you require but thank your dad for his help in my post

Thanks for the comments ....
We have not agreed on a final price but we are in the region of $400!!!
I have asked for a pic of the card and/or the serial number. The seller claims they are actula pictures of the watch so I will keep you informed
Thanks again

There are some additional measures necessary before you can swim with this watch. I will post some technical pics and 'how-to' to make sure it is waterproof this week-end.
In a nutshell:
Remove case back
Remove the crown/ stem
Uncase the movement
Glue/ putty the HEV hole
Case the movement
Grease the two crown seals
Insert the crown/ stem
Grease the case back seal
Put the case back back on
Use a case back tool to thighten the case back
Result? It tested to the max on my tester (6 ATM ) . So IMO you can even dive with it!
Thanks for that reply Rolxman...even I can follow that one. I will let you know the results

Mine was shipped on the 3/5...still waiting...exciting isn't it

Can anyone tell me if this model is waterproof. By this I mean can I swim in the sea in this watch?
Thanks in advance

Well thanks for the points of view and the interesting perceptions on motivation ...
It's not so much about lieing but, unless I am mistaken it is essentially illegal (UK) and when considered from that point of view I would probably just tend to avoid answering the question.
With regard to creating an impression, I suppose an element of the desire to have these time pieces is to feel good about wearing it/them. Not sure if that means I would be trying to impress others or not, it certainly is not a concious thing.
It is really intersting that the common view seems to be no one asks, I have up to now just assumed that people notice these things. I will just have to see I suppose.

Well done Henrik and very well done Wheaton...Nice touch

Hi All
This may have all been discussed before or may even be too emotive, but here goes...
Being pretty new to all of this game and to be honest being amazed by the quality of the products (only ever experienced a dodgy looking piece in Rome before), I am now wondering how I am going amswer the inevitable questions about my new SOSF and PO when I wear them in public. I don't feel I could deceive my friends if they ask but at the same time I think they will think they are real.
How have you all approached this or am I being too sensitive

Well this would certainly be a nice introduction. Please include me.

Sorry Mr Hyde...I am making an assumption with FF and if I'm right he will know what I mean, bit silly really
