  1. You can find it here No bracelet, but sitting at 463.00 British Pound ($753.63 USD)
  2. Ronin - yeah, when I do any sort of search for a ladies dive watch, that Citizen always pops up on the top of the list! Nanuq - the only problem is, as much as I love her to pieces, she's very, very impatient!!! So, I may have to "slap down some green" and get her something sooner than later Of course, that doesn't mean I can't keep searching in the meantime!
  3. Problem is HIke, it's difficult for me to show her the pics with that amazing sig you've got there!!! Nice call Nanuq! I'll see what she thinks! I really like that one Doxa 200T with the black dial on that link you posted. That's a great looking watch too. I know she'd like that one (of course, it seems difficult to find)
  4. Wow Lani! Congrats man!!! This community is made all the better because of your contributions and enthusiasm. I doubt we would be the community we are without you!!
  5. There's hands in that mess????
  6. Nice combination Upland!! Love the mesh bracelet on the Orange Monster! PAM 112h for me today:
  7. Thanks for the tip Hike. She's truly my fiancee I guess. She really wants an analog watch - no digitals for her I guess!!
  8. So, my fiancee came out of left field yesterday and annouced she wanted a watch to wear to the gym and more importantly to the pool. She spent almost 4 hours there the other day and completely lost track of time! So, of course, I am super thrilled to help her source a good diver watch. Unfortunately, there aren't many options out there for women. We have found two that she really, really likes. Opinions would be appreciated! First off, and her favorite, is the Luminox EVO Seal Colormark 7051: Second one, and the one I kind of like, is the Citizen EP6010-03E 300M: Both are close in price range and I like both. Of course, if she gets the Luminox, I may have to get one to match when we go to the pool!
  9. So, I sold a watch some time ago and when the buyer recieved it, the movement failed. It was a gen ETA 2824-2. I felt awful, and happened to have another gen ETA 2824-2 installed in my Omega Seamaster Pro. I offered to remove it and send it out. I received the old one back and the keyless works is buggered up on it. I plan to learn how to play around with it in the future, but in the meantime I bought another one from another member. Movement seems to work just fine. Hour & Minute hands installed fine, but the seconds hand has been causing me some grief. First, I bent it a little bit and now that it's installed, it seems loose. It's flopping around a little bit I'm guessing I need to "pinch" the hand tube down a little bit to make it fit a little tighter. I am no watchsmith, but I do have some decent tools. I am assuming I need a tool similar to this: However, for obvious reasons, I cannot justify spending $458 for something that I doubt I will use very often (even though I absolutely love tools!). Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I realize I could send this to the experts to repair, but if I can do it myself, I would like to give it a try. Of course, the other option would be sourcing another seconds hand and if that's the best choice, can anyone make any recommendations on where to look? Suggestions would greatly appreciated!
  10. Wow Pete!! That panda dial is just stunning! Congrats on your new acquisition!
  11. I've always been into tinkering. That's how I became an engineer. I used to drive my parents crazy when they would come home and I had torn open the stereo or my mom's first PC. It was just a natural progression for me to start wanting to tinker with watches. Who in their right mind (except you ziggy) would want to tear open a gen rolex or omega to "tinker" with the parts! Rep's fulfill that need for me and it's a way cheaper way to learn about how these things work. The flip side of that has already been stated here numerous times in this thread. I cannot, and will not, justify the cost of the majority of gens. There is just no way that Rolex watches are worth that kind of money. Its outrageous to me. I am not denying the design and engineering quality, but you are paying for status, not the actual build cost. One other thing......I would rather have a few good quality reps, or franken reps than one gen watch. I would simply get bored with it!
  12. The movement thing is kind of interesting. However, the finish of the case is quite excellent in my opinion. Here's a couple of comparison pics: "Supposed Gen" "$400 Rep" Look at the finish of the screws. On the "gen" version, they look excellent. Also look at the rehaut and how much cleaner it looks on the "gen" version. Here's a comparison of the crowns: "Supposed Gen" "$400 Rep" You can see the caseback pics on the underneath of these two pics. Again, fit and finish on the "gen" is superb! I have to admit that it's a great looking piece. Of course, there's always the possibility that the pics we are looking at are not of the watch that you would actually get!
  13. Thanks for the tip on the microset avitt! It seems pretty cool. Do you have the software interface for it as well?
  14. That's the best part TJ! When someone compliments you on a watch that you built yourself!!! As for me, still wearing the Franken Tudor all weekend!
  15. That Ball Ionosphere is just stunning in DLC avitt!!! The PO looks pretty awesome too! Gotta say I love my DLC coated B&R 03-92. The coating is perfect and really makes the look of the watch!
  16. Doing a search for "Crystal Test" gave me 19 pages of results. Out of those 19 pages, I found this link on page 12: Definitive Sapphire Crystal Test? That link led me to this one: Two Electronic Tools To Distinguish Sapphire From Glass
  17. Beautiful!!! Incredible work on that one! Yet another great IWC from Domi!
  18. R! No picture in front of your laptop today??? Don't tell me you have Friday off?? Tudor is back on my wrist for Friday:
  19. Superb example Arthur! Looks really great! Enjoy!
  20. Another hit Concepta! Great job on that one! So its gen movement, crown and tube? The case, dial and hands are rep?
  21. Also a good point Val! I guess that's why I am posing the question here. So what do others think?? What is the real cause of the vintage divers watch bezels fading so nicely? Any thoughts?
