  1. Is that how you managed to install the insert into the bezel? With that fancy insert installation tool..... errr.. I mean crowbar?
  2. I checked it compared to the DG movements I could find pics of, but none of them had date wheels like this one does. The date wheel assembly came apart on me so I am trying to figure out how it works. Also looking for a possible replacement for it as well since I may have broken it. Here you go:
  3. Wow..... no Tudors for Thursday huh? Well here you go then:
  4. Boy oh boy. Asking someone for camera help is like asking someone which watch you should get Tough call really. All of them have their strengths and weaknesses. I must admit, that Fuji X10 is really impressing me a lot lately! Also, the Panasonic micro 4/3rd's cameras are pretty special as well. Quite like the GF and GH 2's both. Only problem with them is they aren't that compact. I guess it depends on what features are important to you and is size a consideration?
  5. I've been trying to figure out what kind of movement this one is. I am guessing the odd date wheel assembly should be a big hint, but I just cannot figure out what this one is. Cheers!
  6. Did you have to glue the pearl in place? I've been slowly working on reviving my old noob sub and I have a WM pearl for it. Haven't installed it yet, but it definitely is not a press fit. Falls right out. Of course, my noob bezel has a modified gen insert in it. Looks good E! The noob is a great piece, no doubt about it. Just do NOT attempt to remove the bezel!!! You will most likely bend it and ruin it. It is not gen like construction at all so it's advised not to mess with it. Same thing with the crystal, it is not a gen style installation. It's a press fit crystal and is flat. It does not have a gasket per say so the TC Crystal will definitely not work.
  7. Wow! Great price!!! Nicely done O/S! Congrats!
  8. Any time It really is amazing to me how close these two are.
  9. Wow! Datewheel font and position look so much better!!! Nice to see that glaring error was finally fixed! So this one is running the A7753? Looking good!
  10. Wow! Very nice job on the He Valve Andy! Looks great! Now someone tell me..... what the heck is a rail dial?
  11. I ordered a movement from a guy in Germany on eBay. Showed up in Santa Anita on May 27th at the "sorting facility". One week went by and still nothing. Still showed it as being sorted at the Santa Anita facility. I should point out, the Santa Anita facility is 30 minutes away from me. Another week went by and still nothing. I contacted USPS and they said that they haven't lost the package and that it would be arriving soon. I should contact the shipper to find out what they were told was the estimated date of arrival. I contacted the seller and he said that he just got notice from his post office that he had a package. Next day he goes to the post office and there is my package returned to the sender!!! Package said they could not find a person by my name and so they returned it!!!! Unbelievable!! The whole time it still showed as being at the USPS sorting facility in Santa Anita. Seller promptly re-shipped the item and it arrived the following week. USPS sucks ass..... that's all I have to say about them. Oh and I just checked the tracking info again from the first shipment..... Still shows up as "Departed from Sorting Facility, Santa Anita, CA" Unbelievable
  12. Seems like a damn good price for a yellow gold date just. So if he's worn it 3x a year, he's only worn it around 45 times in total? Must be in mint shape! Got any pics of it?
  13. The big question is, can the case be modified instead of the dial?
  14. Welcome to the forum BigBuys! Sounds like you have quite an extensive collection. Looking forward to seeing some photos some day. Please feel free to post some pics in the "My Collection" section of the forum so we can see what you've got. Enjoy your time here!!! Some great folks and some very helpful info around here!!
  15. Love the excitement!! Where's the pictures???
  16. Sorry guys. I am waiting for my camera battery to charge so I can snap some pics of the case set. I finally found a gen 2892 movement with a DD Chrono module that fits my Navitimer Spatiographe dial. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but the biggest hurdle seems to have been overcome. In the meantime, I have been playing with the case set with a few regular Navi dials, but it seems as though all the dials I have are gen. All of them are too big to fit through the case from the bottom.
  17. TC Caseset is now being offered up for sale. Sales thread is here
  18. Just got my newly refinished VCO Deep Stream bracelet in the mail so I have now switched over to this one:
  19. My pleasure E. I was quite impressed with how close the two of them are
  20. Still wearing my Franken Datejust:
  21. Some of you may have seen my progress update on my 168000 triple zero build here. I ended up buying a gen mid case for the project and so while I had it in my hands, I figured I would do a side by side case comparison of the gen case vs the TC V-serial case. The TC case has been modified. The rehaut was sanded off and jmb did the lug hole work for me. The gen case has a gen 703 crown installed on it as does the TC. I have to admit, aside from the over all feel of the gen case (the edges are way softer and smoother) the look between the two cases is really darn close! Let the pictures do the talking here. The gen case is on the top in all pictures (or on the left in the last photo): If you look at this last photo, you can also see the difference in rehaut depth between the gen case and the TC case. This is probably the only other obvious tell in my opinion.
