  1. ahhh, Paul's drunkenmariner... Yes, that's how I call it. Whoever puts the pearl in those dang things is drunk and can't get it straight. Maybe is the bad quality of the pic or maybe is because the bezel is not centered but looks a lil' skewed. Also the font doesn't look very kosher but again the quality of the picture is terrible and too shmall. :whistling:

  2. Hmmmm, I was going to order this watch from Wo Mart but makes me wonder how is the QC if he INDEED send the watches to be "serviced"... I got this from their site:

"This SO CALLED PERFECT submariner is specially sent for full serviced"

So those were pretty obvious flaws that are easy to spot even for the amateur.

Paul, can you elaborate? I need to dissipate my doubts before I order....

Note aside: Can someone elaborate more in regards of the cyclops? That doesn't look 2.5x to me

  3. First of all sorry for the horrible pictures.

I bought an Omega and a Tag Chrono, I have a couple of complaints but at least they arrived....

(does this looks like vers. 4th? I really don't know what version is it)

This is a very noticeable flaw... the font of "Seamaster" is terrible... also lacks of the PLANET OCEAN in the clasp...

    Now my Tag:

As you can tell the Chrono hand is not aligned perfectly  ... is in between 0-1

This is a similar picture... still not aligned....

Well, sorry for the bad pictures... My next purchase will be a Sub... hopefully I'll have better luck, nonetheless they look really nice. This is the first time that I have a point of comparison between asian movt. and swiss... that 7750 Chrono is terrible, I can feel that is very "cheap", kinda "loose"... the Omega is more solid and that has an ETA... My 2 cents

  4. nice! :D I used to be in the Colombian military... I was Lancero and I spent quite some time in Tolemaida back in 94'. I was part of the training a**holes... my deepest belated apologies if you were ever in Tolemaida doing training for the international lancero course... we really weren't "that" nice. :whistling:

  5. The Rep and Authentic side by side for comparison.

Keep in mind that the rep is photographed on an angle, but is the rep hour hand a little too long?

Is the orange colour in the rep really so different from the authentic or is it the lighting?

    88681-28803.jpg

phew... a lil' different huh?... I actually was spotting so many discrepancies it just looks like a total different watch (and then I start looking for waldo...). Still good for this PO chrono 1.0 or beta

  6. I think this is the funniest and most stressful game of all... waiting for your watch to arrive. Using EMS (China) to the States how long usually takes? I hate to wait but usually this is pretty quick.... I'm sorry I just can't wait! :Jumpy:

Based on your previous experiences how long this usually takes?

BTW the tracking number that I was given doesn't work.... :(

  7. I gotta jump on Randy's bandwagon here as I didn't realize that you were in the US. As I posted sometime bank, Congress recently (last May I believe) amended the statute that applies to trafficking in counterfeits and one of their findings was that the trade in counterfeit goods finances terrorism -- whoaa now, before anybody starts arguing.

The reason that this is significant is that their "finding" provides the link that will bring these cases within the jurisdiction of Homeland Security - even if your efforts do not result in the sale of a single watch, you could be charged with an inchoate offense (like conspiracy) and the sale of just one watch would be enough to support the charge for the substantive offense.

Randy is giving you some good advice here - buy all the reps you want to, and there's no US law against it, but as for this marketing idea - don't even think about it.

    Bill

Wait, let me get this straight... in the US dealing w/ reps is terrible but buying is completely ok?... :Jumpy::Jumpy::Jumpy:

  8. stay away from those fillthy animals paisa ! :victory:

Yeah! Que viva Colombia!... Good to have peeps from different parts of the world. This place is just great!

  9. I am not planning to start a drama about this website but I don't want people to fall for this scam. As far as I know (and I do know very little) there are not italian-made replicas. They just don't exist. This website claims that they sale very good ones. It's based in NYC and affiliated with other websites promoting themselves. That is just sad. Here's the kicker (this was prior me joining this forum)... People think that by using a Credit Card they can charge back items if they are not up to par. True... if you buy using their website they collect your Credit Card information (SSL so still good) but then they call you and tell you they can't charge the CC because they reached their account limit. So the only option left is COD... You gotta love that part. You cannot open the box unless you pay the carrier. After that you are on your own. Luckly this never happened to me and I found this great place... btw, they still call me every week to see if it's ok for them to COD the rep.

  10. :Jumpy: Ok, two weeks have elapsed. I am soooo ready to buy my 1st watch. :Jumpy:

I've been doing some thinking and I believe I will try to get first a PO and a Tag Link Chrono. This is such a cool hobbie (and expensive too). I think I am going to try Ms. King 1st. then we'll go from there. Wish me luck!. I'm still in the quest for a great LV (not 100% perfect, but maybe 99.2% perfect)... maybe king maybe someone else... we'll see... :Jumpy:
