  1. Budget: ~ 9K$ Brand: Preferably JLC. Will consider anything but Rolex, with the condition that the movement is either in-house or at least heavily modified and decorated. Design: ~42mm round case, clear caseback, classic (but not plain and old), steel with leather strap. As an example, the JLC Master Geographic would be perfect (and I wouldn't even post here) if it had been larger than 39mm: I love that classy, yet almost gadgety look. And it looks like a great implementation of the second time zone concept. Any ideas?
  2. I really like the look of the watch, but it really isn't comfortable on my hand. I'm not sure if it's the awkward AP clasp, or it's size, but something isn't right. I either have to set the strap very loose or else the metal clasp hurts my wrist (you know the bone you have on the wrist on the thumb side? exactly there), and the watch doesn't stay straight but somewhat crooked, I've spent a small fortune (as far as reps go) for the watch and a very nice strap, but I can't wear it. Any ideas?
  3. I had a bad experience in the past with king watch. Ordered a watch, and got a different version that has many flaws, They wouldn't take it back, and I was left with a non-wearable watch... Most dealers are good 99% of the time, you should look for reviews where something went wrong and was fixed. Every dealer makes mistakes, it's how they deal with them that counts. I had the chance to "test" Tony from asian7750, and he was great, and Angus from PureTimes, did a good job as well. Orders from Narikaa, Andrew from TrustyTime and Torobravo went great without any problems, so I can't comment yet on how they deal with them. The smoothest experience award goes to Andrew (TrustyTime), so his my default dealer.
  4. Wow, you guys have some awesome bottles. My modest scotch collection includes: 1. Ardbeg Uigeadail - The best whisky I ever tasted, and by far the best one I have. 2. Ardbeg 10 YO. 3. Talisker 10 YO. 4. Lagavulin 16 YO. 5. The Glenrothes Select Reserve 6. Highland Park 16 YO 7. Glenfiddich 18 YO 8. Cutty Sark Imperial Kingdom 9. Cutty Sark 12 YO 10. Islay Mist 11. Teachers 12. Jack Daniels 13. Chivas 14. Grant's Ale Cask 15. Grant's Sherry Cask 16. Bruichladdich 1994 - Worst whisky I ever had. Bruichladdich has some amazing whiskies, just not this one.
  5. OK, apparently the QC pics on his website are updated for the new version. Before I pull the trigger on that, could someone point me the flaws on this one. By flaws I mean the tells for this rep (not QC flaws). I know one tell is the rather thin, grayish bezel markings. What are the other tells? Thanks a lot..
  6. WOW! I never thought that a Tudor would put Rolex to shame... Amazing piece.
  7. Someone that trusts paypal and ebay for buyer's protection....
  8. The moon watch is hand wound, not automatic...
  9. thanks jkay and ronin. Do the straps need any special attachment or kit, or do they just fit the CP (or any APROO rep) without any need for special tools or kits? ps - if you guys have links for the straps you've shown, I'd be very thankful if you post them.
  10. Thanks for the reply. The deep brown croc is a great idea. Where can I find straps that would fit the CP? I searched online a bit, and found that the gen APROO needs some kind of a conversion kit in order to accept straps. Is it true for the rep as well? Are there any good straps that would fit the CP available from our dealers? Thanks again..
  11. It's a very minor flaw, I agree. The noticeable flaws in the current GMT are the grey bezel markings and the lack of AR on the cyclop. Any flaw that can be spotted IRL situations needs to be fixed...
  12. So, rumors are that Andrew is already selling the new watch. However, there aren't any details nor pictures of that watch yet. Rumors say it has a correct hand stack and AR'ed cyclop. I'm very interested, but does anybody have pics or "official" details about it?
  13. I love the watch, but that rubber strap is not comfortable and doesn't look good as well. Any ideas for a nice, good quality strap that would fit the chronopassion and would look good on that watch? Thanks..
