  1. Reg insists that he checked, and it is in fact sapphire. I believe him for two reasons: 1. If it would turn out to be a non-sapphire crystal, he's gonna lose his good reputation. 2. The price is more than fair for a non sapphire crystal, and most would still buy it. Why take the risk and lie? In September I'll be able to check myself. Hope that I'll remember to do so....
  2. The POrikaa isn't the classic lite version. It's got AR coated sapphire glass. One of the reasons it's been so popular.
  3. Excellent photos... You can make every watch look amazing. The watch could be a real beauty, if you'll add the AR. IMO the price is too high for a non AR watch. Narikaa has proved that there is no good reason for these prices... His PO is more complicated to make, has saphire crystal with AR, and costs less incl. shipping. p.s. Is there a similar gen? AFAIK, the Railsmasters look a bit different, and have a "Railmaster" writing, and not a "Seamaster"
  4. That's the correct lever to move, but be very very careful. I have no idea why, but after moving it, my watch stopped completely and didn't move again. After playing with that lever again, the watch finally moved again, but now 1 sec/min. faster. I tried to regulate the time again, and after that it never came to life again, and I had to buy another one. Lucky me, the new one is only about 8 sec./day fast, so no need to regulate it. I advise you take it to a watch smith that will do that for you.
  5. This would probably take some time since the seller at the bay is away until June 13th (if you another good one, I'd be happy to know)... Lucky I've dedicated this watch to modding and various experiments.... I have another identical watch on my wrist. BTW, I have a feeling that the after market insert would be too small. I've measured the rep bezel, and it's about 1mm bigger than the gen. But I'll have to wait and find out...
  6. UPDATE: I didn't manage to pop the crystal out, no matter what direction I've tried, so I just soaked the watch (without the movement of course) in boiling water, took the pearl out and with a lot of force, popped the insert right out. The insert, of course is damaged, but like you said, it doesn't matter. Thanks a lot.. I'll update after I'll get the new insert.
  7. Thanks a lot.. One question though, which way should I pop the crystal out, inwards towards where the movement was, or outward towards the bezel? Thanks again...
  8. So, I know it seems quite stupid to some of you, and at first it seemed stupid to me, but the more I look at my watch, the more I want to purchase the gen. bezel (for 228$). I said before, that the differences between the gen. and the PO, are very subtle, and they are. Except the pearl. I can spot the flaws on the pearl from 5 ft. away, and just for the peace of mind, I really want to replace it. Now, unfortunately, replacing only the bezel insert isn't an option, since the pearl is part of the bezel, and the insert has only a hole. I really don't mind paying the 228$ for this thing, but only if I can be certain that I can't take the rep bezel out and that the gen. bezel would fit the rep case. Can anybody help me on the subject?
  9. Ok, small update. I moved that arm back to where it was (even further back), and gave a little push to the tiny wheel. and the watch is working again. 2 problems though: It's now faster than before, gaining a second almost every minute. When I push the crown out to set time mode, after setting it back, I need to shake the watch a bit to make it move again. What, in my noob opinion, happened is that I did move the right arm, but also accidentally touched the tiny wheel and made it stop. the reason the watch is faster than before, is because the arm is now at a "faster" position than before, instead of a "slower" position. Does it make sense to you, or am I talking non-sense? Thank you all, again. EDIT: After looking at the tutorial again, I'm positive that I only touched the right arm (and maybe the wheel behind it). Should I try again to regulate? EDIT 2: I don't know if that info helps, but apparently I only need to shake it when its on set mode a long time. If it's only a couple of seconds it's fine.
  10. You're right. I've posted here, but then noticed the other forum and figured it's more related to there. If i could, I'd delete it myself.
  11. Hey, a pretty new Narikaa's PO. with a 21j asian movement (2813). Tried to regulate it (it was almost a minute/day fast), and after closing the case back it just doesn't start again. Im pretty sure its fully winded (I can hear the spring noise). Is there something else I need to do? I've noticed that before I moved the little arm that regulated the time, there was a small wheel behind it moving (even at set time position) and now it doesn't move anymore? Is the watch dead? Or can I do something here? Thanks a lot...

  13. Is it exactly the same watch BY-TOR reviewed?
  14. I've seen this excellent review by BY-TOR of this watch: http://www.rwg.cc/members/Review-OMEGA-Sea...ml&hl=omega It seems like the perfect daily beater for me (saving the PO to a bit more special occasions). So 2 questions that i hope somebody would be able to answer: 1. Is it still available anywhere? I mean this exact model with the correct bezel, and amazing price. 2. Would the PO rubber bracelet fit that watch? Thanks a lot...
  15. Hey all, I try to keep my REPs under 150$, and the next one I've put my eyes on is the Aquaracer (not the day date, but the date only model). From the small research I did, I've found out that there are 2 models, the expensive A7750 and the cheaper quartz one. I've seen great reviews for the automatic, but couldn't find much info on the quartz model. Are them the same apart the movement? I know that most ppl around here don't think much about quartz watches, and that the gens are automatic, but personally that part doesn't bother me much, and I prefer to save 200$ and go for the quartz if that is the only difference. Anyone tried the quartz? thanks a lot...
  16. Still, most good REPs are of big watches... The UPO and Breitling REPs are good examples... The smaller models are harder to find.
  17. Thank you both... To help you help me, I'll try to be more specific. The guy (which I'm buying the watch for) wants a bit more "sporty" look and like I said, a relative small size. The Aquaracer is close, but it's a bit too "classy". If it had something to "break" the look (like the orange bezel of the PO), it could have been perfect. Thanks again, looking forward for more options.
  18. Hey all, I want to buy a watch, that is rather on the small size scale (~the size of the 42mm PO), with a rubber strap that isn't Omega, Breitling or Rolex (a bit weird I know, but I have my good reasons). The PO 42mm orange bezel with black rubber could have been the best candidate, but as I've mentioned, I can't get an Omega for this watch. Is there anything like that? Thanks a lot...
  19. Just to praise a bit more, went to a small downtown watch smith to get it resized. I've just approached the counter, standing about 3-4 ft. away from the watch smith and he says: "Wow, that's a nice REP". Me: "You're right, but how could you tell from that distance?". Him: "I'm working here for 15 years, nobody ever came here with a gen... If you buy a 3k$ watch, you don't go to a 4$ watch smith". He's quite an old man, and mostly used to seeing poor quality REPs, that travelers to the far east bring back with them, usually market grade with no connection to a gen model. After resizing the watch (2-3 minutes), he said that it's one of the best quality REPs he's seen (in terms of build quality and materials), and "they even have the same bracelet sizing system as the gens". He, BTW, has a gen 80's seamaster.
  20. Just a note I'd like to add, after actually recieving my first REP (42 PO). The photos that members upload showing the flaws are zoomed in so closely that it seems from the photos that those flaws are spotted right away. In real life, unless someone straps the watch off my wrist and checking it very closely, there is almost no way for him to notice those flaws...
  21. Another member from Israel here. Did you notice that our country isn't on the countries' list in the profile settings? Just sent a message to the admin about it. BTW, FYI, just got my first REP, no problems whatsoever with customs, and super fast delivery from Thailand.
  22. WOW, sorry to step on our American friends' toes, but I just got the watch. Shipped 22/05, At my door 26/05. Being my first REP, and like I wrote before, I was concerned a bit about the quality, but that was in vein. What a great watch, great quality and super fast delivery.
  23. Thanks, but I'm looking for an accurate REP at the moment like the SOSF or Skyland, I just don't like their size. In every other aspect they're stunning.
  24. Hey all, I want to add a Breitling to the collection, but all the good REPs seems to be the huge models. I want something a bit smaller like the Omega PO 42mm and not like the UPO. Is there anything like that? Thanks a lot.
