  1. Hi everybody, I know that this topic was covered previously. But I'm not yet satisfied with the white enamel. Any suggestions to make my DSSD bezel paint closer to the gen platinum num color? and which paint shall I use to sustain water. Shall I first take off the existing paint? If so how shall I do that? Thanks for your help.

  2. They are both great watches...but entirely different. The DSSD is massive, the GMT not. The DSSD can be had in a cheap $108 dollar "lite" type version...whereas the 116710 needs to have the ETA ICHS movement to be reliable. The 116710 is much thinner so wears very differently.

Thank you for your input. What is the ICHS ETA movement, and where can I find it. And what do you think about the DSSD V5 date window/centering and Bezel engraving compared to the GMT?

  3. I think that DSSD V5 upgraded version is better than GMT. The bezel colour of rep gmt is completeley off.... the gen colour of bezel is unreplicable... it's sometimes dark grey and sometimes black with a speech appearance...

Instead the DSSD ceramic bezel is quite near the gen

Did u do a side-by-side comparision for the GMT bezel?. The review done by By-Tor()shows quite accurate bezel color. I didn't see a GMT rep closeby, but I saw the DSSD V5 and I compared it with the gen: date window edges is sharp, but not sharp enough. Date not centered in date window. Bezel nums engraving not bold enough.

  4. I believe the only solution to your date misalignment is to have a new date wheel installed. It won't do any good to adjust the current one because only some of the dates are misaligned. My V3 is like that, too. From 20 on the dates sit low.

You might PM BK about this, when he gets back from vacation on Oct. 2. He might know how to fix it.

How can I reach him? thanks for your support!

  5. Below pic of gen DSSD taken from crown side. I still see a dome, less prominent though. My main concern is really the alignment of the date inside the date window. Any suggestions, did anybody encounter this problem... and resolves it? Would a gen date wheel work here? any gen dial for DSSD out there? if so, would it fit?.

    Thanks for the help.

  6. when you say bad date change you mean date does not change or it changes but is not centered in date window? My DSSD v5 change dates but for dates beyond 20, digits are too low and close to the lower edge of the date window. can i fix that? shall i change movement, date wheel?

    Thanks.

My DeepSea arrived several months ago with a bad date change TOO .. just like yours. Contact your Dealer and see how much a new movement is. If it's Asian, it could be very inexpensive. I don't know about your V2 but the V5 takes either Asian or ETA.

  7. Gents, I compared the saphire with gen... the "bubble" is there as well, maybe less prominent. I think it has to do with the thickness of the glass and the absence of AR coating - I don't know if inside AR inside AR coating is applied on the gen though.

    Hi,

for me a notable flaw is the crystal. If You compare it with the look of the gen, You will see from a great distance that its a fake. I dont know how to explain, but the rep Chrystal looks distorted, like a loup. A Gen never will !But the biggest flaw of all is the after sale service of Eurotimezz. It s a really mess. I got my V5 with a broken bezel/inlay some weeks ago.

i send them many emails, got many answeres from different people. Eeach one gave me a new ticket and nothing, really nothing conrete happened. And the only thing I need is a new bezel/inlay. I feel really cheated!!!I bought watches at Josh, Angus, Phong. If there was a Problem, they always solved it immediately. they are real businessmen and they will never "get a victim of their success".

This is the biggest [censored] I ever heard!

  8. Nice job! nums look accurate. I read that gen bezel's num are painted in light platine/silver, is that true? does the V5 need bezel num adjustment or is it accurate enough?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

inspired by gio's great post I decided to pull the trigger and pimped the bezel of my "ultimate" V-XY DSSD. I got this watch from a nice member a short time ago for a veeeery little money. It is a nice watch with a Swiss ETA (as I can judge it is a "swiss" ETA although it might be produced in Asia who know's :whistling: ). I actually considered this as a try before purchasing the V5 but when I saw gio's thread I decided to safe some money and pimp my V-XY. A dial with bevelled date window is on its way to my home so the watch will be modded continously blue lume and epoxy sealing of the He valve included.

I just finished the work and took some pics for you. Please note, that the bezel isn't finally polished yet because I will have to work on the 40 and on the triangle around the pearl again. But it gives you an idea how simple the job is. Simple? Yes. But work carefully and with patience. ^_^

Here we go with the first step. White matte colour applied to the bezel:

After working on the bezel with nail polish remover (do this very carefully otherwise the job has to be done again):

It is not easy to work on the triangle. I'll apply additional layers per day to get it dry and in a nice shape. I considered to disassemble the ceramic inlay to work more properly on it but I am afraid I could break the ceramic.

  9. Hello,

received my DSSD V5 (gen ETA) from Chris this week. Since, I am fethcing for flaws; couldn't find many. Even compared with my neighboor gen ... QUITE ACCURATE!

The only main flaw I ID (besides weak lumes and pearl material ... acceptable for a rep) is with the alignment of the date inside the date window. Very annoying: Date beyond 20 are all very low on the window.

Any ideas how this could be fixed? Would a gen date wheel work here? any gen dial for DSSD out there? if so, would it fit? (it did on my UPO).

    Thanks for any help.
