Have you ever disassembled and overhauled a movement before?
If not... This is not an easy task...
Fair enough, point taken. Thats why I asked
Thanks to Zig for the pictures also. Really interesting.
I've not heard of Phong does he deal from a website or trade through forums. I really want to avoid him.

I've got an A7750 watch on it's way at the momment. Is it possible for an amature to oil their own?
Are there instructions on this forum on how to do it?
-
I wasn't sure Joshua would take it back
I lost the stem completely, only the crown is left
the watch still ticks though, oddly enough...maybe I will contact Joshua...little scared to see what he says, and what will happen if I ship back to him.
What on earth do you think he is going to do to you? If your OP is accurate it sounds like you got unlucky and got a bad watch. I guess sometimes that just happens.
-
I dunno how it really happened...but I managed to break the stem off my BP 5004
only a week owning the watch, and I could tell it may have some problems...got the watch from Josh... noticed the rotor was pretty noisy, but I didn't fuss on that...opened the caseback and found the o-ring in 3 pieces..didn't worry...
but the biggest issue was the crown now screwing in very good...yesterday, the crown stopped screwing in all together...I was fiddling with it and noticed the stem was broken and somehow got stuck inside the case
now all that's left is the crown with a bit of stem i can't get unscrewed from.....pretty disappointing
is it possible to get a new stem? havn't taken it to any watch smith, but I'm sure I can...anyone have problems like this?
I'm sad I broke my new toy hope someone can enlighten me
might have pics up later...but I think you guys get the drift on what happened...
On the face of it this sounds like a pretty poor product. Can the dealer do anything? Have you asked them?
-
No need to jump on this guy, he hasn't used language that implies he's trying to kick up anything at all...
However alexx, the responses you have are a result of you being lazy as there is enough information to answer all of the questions you have on the board. We appreciate - with the amount of information that is available.. that people spend a while searching topics before starting a thread of their own.
Interestingly enough; given the niche topic and level of knowledge needed to understand much about the board, many people find they read the board for weeks before they are confident enough to start discussing things, but the answers ARE there..
To do you a favour and answer your post I'll tell you that WM9 products are well praised as is BK's exceptional service. As I understand it WM9 had some trouble with some far far earlier products, however is not the case with the current ranges.
You can purchase confidently with both of the dealers you enquired about. Whats more - BK's satisfied customer list stretches extremely far.
A gentleman answers.
The OP is correct, there are some very different (read opposing) opinions on wm9. Maybe this was the wrong section but it's good to have the forum's opinion on whether this dealer/modder combination are worth the extra money.
It's nice to see that the general consensus is yes, they are worth it. That's valuable knowledge to noobs like us.

When UK customs seize, being the delightful peeps they are, they invariably let you know
If they just want arbitrary duty off you, the carrier will let you know
If you just want opinions and 'there there it'll be alright's everyone will let you have them
.
I'm not sure what you are trying to say to me here. That I should be concerned?
You just enjoy flicking my balls?

- show everyone you know a picture of the watch, over and over again
- check your email for shipping/processing updates every 15 minutes (for 2 weeks)
- hop around like you have to pee really bad
- read about all the mods possible by expert forum members for a watch you don't own yet
- F5! F5! F5!
- sweat nervously
You've just described the last week of my life.

I'm looking for a good quality PO42 and I would be grateful of the forum's opinion on this example: http://www.jpc8118.com/omse10011-seamaster...242-p-1431.html
The linked watch has an "eta" mvt, AR and the correct outside bezzel shapping (full square).
Apart from the incorrect face logo (for which I still cannot find a perfect watch) can anyone spot any other tells on this watch that distinguish it from a gen?
-
Thanks to ChiefWiggam for the very comprehensive response. But I do appreciate all the other responses. I think I maybe just have the fear as it's my first time.
The tracking system is now working again but it hasnt changed for a week when it "left origin country".
I've only waited a week. I guess I'm just nervous.

any help?

If you want accuracy, stick to the SS.
I'd have preferred the titanium one myself as well though, but not the rep as it is now (with SS).
Would a face/bez swap onto a GST chrono Ti work?
-
Has anyone here ever had a parcel intercepted at customs in the UK?
My tracking number no longer works and only an error is returned.
What are the consequences if the parcel is stopped in the UK, what experience does the forum have.

so nobody bought a PO from him?
nobody to answer my question?!!
also a 42 with the right logo.
does anyone have any details?
-
Sorry to self bump but does anyone have a view on this?
-
Thanks for the replies. Its so hard when it's on someones wrist to get a proper look.
I can confirm NO hands were moving.
Getting quite into this hobby and hoping to spot a rep in the wild. Of course I won't say anything. Just want to test my skills.

New boss at work. Wearing a black speedmaster chrono. (I can't tell you a model)
I can't get a really close look but the clasp looks wocky and the dial finish seems a bit cheap, can anyone help me with any obvious tells for this watch?
Question1: Should the second hand be rotating all the time or only when the chrono is activated?
Question2: The clasp while looking insecure and a bit tinny has the Omega symbol in a raised square, is the correct?
-
dude i don't know whether it's possible, but i think your idea is brilliant....i have been thinking about this before, taking cheap quartz reps as source for cases, dials, hands....
simon
Thanks. Perhaps there is no way of finding out without risking the >$130 on the low grade rep. (I have the 7750 version on order). I'll email those websites and see what they say.

Hi the most acurate version of the 3717-02 (spitfire chronograph) has one big flaw it has an incorrect back on it.
(Writing is wrong + wrong font, wrong layout, see Toad's excellent review for more details)
example here http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=179
However on this cheaper version the back is (visually) much more acurate:
http://www.jpc8118.com/iw02109-pilot-chron...ing-p-4695.html
Does anyone know if it would be possible to switch the case backs?

That's where I got mine from. The deal went flawlessly.

Thanks for the information. How long did yours take to arrive? (i'm in the EU so it might be different I guess).
I am a big fan of white faced watches and this is a really stunning example.

Read the Noob Guide linked in my sig and all will be revealed. Puretimewatch is one of the recommended dealers here. There are others...do your research and decide who's the best one for you.
Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. I can't see your sig, perhaps because I'm a noob? I'll hunt around for the link.
I'm a keen photographer so i'll post pics of the 3717-02 when it arrives (wherever I get it from in the end).
Another real noob question: I am only really interested in highly accurate reps even if they are a bit more expensive. Is there a sub forum or set of dealers specific to this market?
Thanks again

Hi first timer here.
Ive seen this rep advertised on a site called puretime. Can anyone tell me if that is a reputable site and if the products sold there are of the same quality as the reps pictured in this thread.
Beautiful watch, would very much like to order one.
QC inspector #13 must have had the day off...

+1 for that. We need to know to avoid them.
