Hmm, regarding the lume looking funny, is probably due to reflections?
I've compared this side by side with a gen dial and can't discern any differences at all, but I'm also a novice, so I don't know.
-
As the title says, now wondering whether it's gen or not. Could somebody help me out, please?

I'm thinking about purchasing a BCE and doing some mods if possible (gen dial and bezel) but need som help. Came across this site for Breitling parts: http://www.swisswatchstore.co.uk/products/Breitling-Parts (other shops offering Breitling parts out there?)
Description:
Breitling Cockpit Steel Bezel with Riders and Screws A49350
Will this bezel fit a BCE and if so, which version? Also, which version if best if one are going to change the bezel and dial?
Some help would be much appreciated!

Nice pictures, thanks.
Regarding the Titanium based colour - how can one mod a V5 DSSD and change the insert colour?

I love the Longines Master non-chrono .. it's simplicity and beautiful textured white dial ... Oooooooh ... Oooooooh
Agreed, however the watch displayed is a cheap replica.
I reported the auction/seller to ebay, let's see if they act.

In addition to my previous post, I've found another site that carry quite a few very cheap dials (iwc, breitling, omega), the same kind of dials that concepta is referring to, I believe, however I'm not sure whether you can order online but it could be worth a shot:
That's all I got

Actually dials can be found on ebay.de from time to time... Last time I checked I saw two 5002 dials for 150 euro each.

I'm constantly asking myself; "why", when witnessing abundances of this caliber, which creates a general dislike towards collecting reps too... I assume that the difference lays within this particular collector's possibility to really make a difference in this world with his capital, opposed to people collecting fairly inexpensive reps. In the end, people are starving, while this guy adorn his wrist with million of dollars(?)
Sorry for the rambling - got a sickening feel in my gut

Try the Watch Collectors-section.

Thanks guys!
Actually one member contacted me, willing to sell a "closed factory"-franken, so I don't any need help with my project. Mods can close this thread.

Cool movement, I just dont think it goes with that watch. That style is best left simple.
BTW, what's up with your sig? Buy real? What are you doing here?
I assume he's sarcastic and rereferring to the campaign against replicas.

Hi,
I've been reading a lot about the lack of good 2254.50 reps around, so I've decided to "build" my own, but I need a good starting point, thus I'm creating this thread for suggestions of the best 2254.50 out there (the quality of the strap irrelevant - I'm going to wear on a nato strap)
I'm not going to change the movement, just the essential exterior parts to make it more gen like, which would be a gen dial, gen hands, and maybe a crown. Anything else?
After been searching for a good start, these two are, in my eyes, the best to start with (please correct me if I'm wrong):
From trusty:
From timeshops.net
Which is according to you the best to start with? The one from trust obviously has shorter hands etc. but that doesn't matter...
Also, both claim to have MOVEMENT: Swiss ETA 2824-2 Automatic - is this correct or BS?
How good, accurately wise, can they become if I use the aforementioned gen parts with any of these two watches?
Any opinions?

Took me awhile to find it ... it was over on RG.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I think BK is the best source for the WM9 products. There was a post I saw somewhere where he showed what he did to 'fix' a WM9 v2 Sub for another forum member that had gotten his directly from WM9. Mainly small things, but the end result was a better watch. Pricing is the same, so no reason not to go with BK.
Thanky you tomhorn. I will try to find that post.

"As far as i can tell through some pretty damn intense reading of this forum, WM9s rolex reps, once gone through BK's QC and mods, are the best avaliable."
Should one order through BK instead of directly from WM9's site? I understand, from the above mentioned comment obviously, that BK QC's the watches... this is opposed to WM9 who are shipping without QC?
Would appreciate if someone can clarify this.
Thanks!
Anyone? Don't want to start a new thread regarding this as I'm not comfortable with being crucified
I'm asking because I've read comments like: "Also will do some much needed QC on the WM9." , referring to BK.

Altough I had some bad luck on Chinese QC (the stem broke off, which is replaced by the dealer), this rep is among the most accurate ones I've ever seen. I used to own the gen and the only two flaws I see - apart from the fact that the hands are not really blued, but painted - is that the gen doesn't have AR at all and secondly the 'Swiss Made' should be half the size.
Buy yourself a strap from the Watchboys, have it completely serviced by a watchmaker and it will wear like a gen!
Thanks for your answer! I've to say, from you photos, I've would easily take it as a gen, atleast at first glance. But as previous stated, there's something missing in the hands, although they look much better from you pictures. But I assume one cant expect the same quality in a $300 rep compared to a $2000 gen.
I'm gonna pull the trigger

Hi, first post on this great forum.
I've been lurking on rep forums for quite some time now and I've finally decided that the above mentioned watch will be my first purchase. Unfortunately I haven't read a single review about it, just some short comments. It would be much appreciated if anybody could elaborate regarding the quality, write a review etc. Due to the absence of fuss about it, this could be beneficial for other potential Longines Moonphase buyers, wondering whether it's a good rep or not.
From the pictures displayed it looks fantastic, except the hands that in my eyes looks plastically and not as refined as hands on the gen.
Rep
Gen
From the pictures, they did a very good job with this one, with the exclusion of the hands?
I bought this (gen?) BCE dial from ebay

Thanks for the replies, guys. Are the concentric rings (not the chronos), vaguely depicted in the photo, a sign that it's legit? (from my understanding the rep dial lacks these rings)
