  1. I believe I also read somewhere how they used to paint their WHOLE bodies and scare their boyfriends in the dark and stuff... Quite tragical, knowing that the "bosses" knew about the dangers.. Personally I cant imagine even keeping such a watch at home tho, thinking of ionizing radiation makes me uneasy... That case does look nice tho, I gotta admit.. Keep us posted please!
  2. Whaaaaaa? Thats a lot of sugar there
  3. Dang stop posting those beautiful pics, I cant look at pretty watches without wanting to order one
  4. Ok they are knowledgeable, but really, how close is anyone going to get to your watch in real life, normal conditions :X. I'd creep out if someone is staring at my watch, doesnt matter whether gen or not :x
  5. Thanks a lot for the replies guys, now I have some ideas what to get where . Cheers! Niko
  6. I like biking, but I am trying to get into jogging . Never was a good runner (sprinter sure, anything over 200m, nope ). Working out ok actually, managed 3.6km in 25mins at my second try today . I'm quite proud haha . As for your running problem, might be the shoes as well?
  7. Nice pictures, I hope you enjoyed your stay! Personally I dont really like the "contents" of Centre Georges Pompidou, last time I was in there I only liked like 2 pieces out of many . If you like some interesting old pieces tho, I have to recommend you Mus
  8. Whats the point of getting a Mac to just run Windows on it? I might just as well make a Hackintosh and run MacOS on a normal PC if we look at it this way
  9. Hello guys, I would like to try my hands at putting a watch project (or rather, 2 of them ) together. I already have movements, have almost decided on hands (DSN's golden curved ones look so attractive..), however I am still unsure about the cases. I would like a 47mm Radiomir and a 47mm 1950 case (fiddy? I never understood whether there is a difference.). They should be sterile with no engravings (CG can have the "tm"), stainless steel with display backs. Crystals can be mineral (will probably try to swap for a sapphire later on). Not too domed... However, where can I get such cases? Who offers them at decent quality? This far I am only aware of Jacksontse, Getat and Helenarou.. Are there any differences in quality between the 3? Which one would you recommend? Pricing is the same at ~$40-45. Are there any other options (hopefully below ~$120-150)? Am I even asking in the right place? Thanks a lot for your opinions! Regards, Niko
  10. I know. However as I mentioned earlier, lots of programs (specifically DCC) are Direct3d only, so we won't be seeing those on Mac .
  11. Btw these kind of discussions never really lead to any real conclusions with answers ;D PS To throw another wrench in, the sec Apple implements Direct3d I'll buy myself a Mac . I'm serious tho.. PS2. Wait, they do make 2 button mice as well, right??
  12. Exactly. A metro station isnt exactly the kind of place people tend to willingly stay for longer than necessary... Most just mechanically pass thru and go on with their errands.. And of course, very few will even recognize what he is playing, the level of his play and much less his name. I know I wouldn't (I will probably stop to listen tho )
  13. Mac isnt the way forward.. neither is windows.. If you think that a Mac after 4 years of use with no cleaning/reinstalling whatsoever is going to run much faster than a similar config PC, think again.. l All the comparisons of PC vs Mac are written with EXTREME prejudice.. Dont believe the crap like "Macs are more stable" or "Macs are more virus-proof" or similar.. what you dont hear from these guys is that Macs werent interesting to hackers a couple of years ago. Now there is stuff that will affect them just as much as the stuff coded for PC.. As for the stability issues, having such an extremely limited pool of hardware options AND software options of course leads to higher stability. Does this mean Microsoft are morons tho? Hardly. It all comes down to your preferences and the things you do on it. If you don't really do anything special you might as well hop on to Mac. User-friendly and fool proof and all those stuff. Personally I wont be able to live with a mac, most of the progs I use will never be ported to Mac. Some of those other us are natural talents . That and the already mentioned much higher performance and huge pool of software/hardware options
  14. I see.. Then I only need one ring - Molnija for a 47 Fiddy case . Thanks! Nick
  15. Sony is still big. They had a bit of catching to do on the portable mp3 player market but not so anymore... Apple just got lucky to have the right product at the right time and show it to the right people. But is it still good? I don't own any product from apple (and don't think I ever will), however lots of people (/audiophiles) state that the later incarnations of the Ipod are getting progressively worse (quality wise) than the very first. I ask myself however, what is going to happen to Apple once Jobs disappears from the game.. Lets be honest, the guy is an amazing promoter and all those Apple zealots are buying every single word that comes out of his mouth...
  16. G-shock. If you really cant stand the thought of having a quartz movement on your wrist, any of the Seiko Monsters.
  17. I have a small noob question -> do both Radiomir-style 47mm cases and the Fiddy-style 47mm cases have the same "interior"? I'd be interested in rings for Molnija (the old 50's styled ones), 1 for each Radiomir (either 45 or 47mm, depending on the answer above ) and 1 for Fiddy. Shout when you have more info for us please
  18. Check the movement section, there was an article on column wheel handwind chrono's, amongst them the Seagull ST19, which I think (not sure) is the movement in that watch. Short answer -> I'm tempted to buy it . The movement is gorgeous! PS anyone know where I can get a st19 shipped to EU for decent price (no huge overprices..)? please pm!
  19. You wouldnt believe it, but I was wondering just yesterday what it would be like to take a Panerai Ferrari case+, get/make a sterile dial and put a Seagull ST19 in it
  20. Hm, is UV protection the only thing to worry about? Wouldnt lens geometry (you get the idea) also be important? Or is there little to be messed up in that department?
  21. BTW, I find myself not using any aftershave since I'm shaving like that. Yeah, I know it sounds frigging girly, but when I shave with the electric razor, my skin feels so DAMN dry afterwards that I HAVE to put something on it. With shaving cream (well I use cream + a bit of soap, mix it up! ), this feeling is gone.. And there are so many kinds of soaps, cremes and scents and what not *manly deep voice on* Lets go drink some beer and then get in a fight guys!! Omni, if you haven't tried single blade, I do recommend it. Isnt scary either! Unless you press down too hard, it shouldn't irritate the skin at all.. If you feel resistance, change the blade, or get sharper ones . Takes some getting used to tho, so its slower in comparison, at least until you get used to it. Question tho, do you shave always with the Montblanc watch?
  22. Hey I'm not a lazy mofo anymore . If you go that way prepare to have your gf look weird at ya tho... Maybe because I'm 24 meself :x
  23. Hmm, i think you might be doing it wrong. I am a recent convert myself, used to shave with a Braun electric shaver, but ever since I tried the old-fashioned ways, I only use it on very very limited occasions. Unless this is another type of a shaving creme, you are supposed to use a brush to make your foam out of it. The most often used brush is made of Badger, with different grades of it. I wont go into details, but the different types of badger do make a difference - the finer and denser the hairs are, the easier/faster it is to get nice thick foam. I have a silvertip one and I love it. So, this far we have a badger brush and shaving creme (the other alternative is shaving soap, its a bit different to make foam out of, but the procedure is the same.. creme is pretty much the soap with more "water" in it). Next you need a mug or a small cup in which you add a small speck of creme (say a small dot, 1cm across, or of course a bit more). Wet your brush with warm water and start making circular motions with it in the cup, no pressure needed. After a bit, foam should start showing up. Pretty much the only factor that dictates how easy you get to this stage is the amount of water on the brush, too much and it will take ages, too little and you will have to add more water. Once you have nice, thick foam, you apply it to your face (again circular motion) with the brush. Wait a few minutes for the hairs to soften and start shaving . The deluxe version of this is to first put some hot towels on your face, then make the foam and apply. The result is better, but then again, towels each time you shave?? Not for me . Do you use the modern razors with the 500 blades, or are you looking for alternatives? I'm currently shaving with a double-edge safety razor with Feather blades (Japanese, supposedly the sharpest around, also not forgiving, its so easy to cut yourself..). I also have a straight razor, but I havent really tried it out yet.. There are plenty of sources on info for wet-shaving the traditional way, I could post some links.
  24. Wow this thread turned to freaky stuff sooo quickly :x. I love the pic of the asshat tho (the first one in the thread, I have the feeling there will be plenty more, of the not-so-pretty kind )
  25. Hate them.. I hate too small collars as well . I am a sucker for shirts with huge collars . I have the pleasure of owning one D&G shirt, huge collar and I love it . However I guess American people have a different view on the matter, button-down seems to be rather common.
