Yeah, they both look like reps. I don't see AR on the cyclops of the blue one, the pearl sucks, the lume markers look wrong and the hour hand looks too thick. "She" could never have been duped into buying a rep at gen prices as the gen white gold would weigh a ton.

Simple, functional, looks good.
Only complaint is the whimpy crown. A more robust crown would make it
You could always grind the guards off and put a Brevet Big Crown on it...

Is it also possible that this movement was serviced and the screws replaced if say they got scratched.. or maybe the guy had several apart and put the wrong ones back in.. If I repair a IBM notebook and accidentally put in a Toshiba screw, the notebook is still an IBM. Hey, maybe a bad analogy, but it's all I've got.

The really bad part is she was probably smashed and doesn't even remember it.
-
Wow. That's pretty bad. The bevel on the crystal is really steep.. Franky, this watch offends me.

Yeah, back in the day there was River and EL for "the good stuff", Paul for the cheap stuff and a few other forgotten names.. Chinatown (who seems to have been replaced by WBK). MBW was the best of the best in the vintage world, TW Best for others. I was very happy with many of the reps I got back then, one of my favs being a old style VC Overseas from Paul. A few from my TRC years were:
TW Best Sub (actually had a few, one modded by Bryan)
Full plated 18k TW Best blue Sub
VC Overseas from Paul
EL 127
TW Best Day-Date
TW Best Masterpiece (haven't seen as good of one since)
1st gen secs at 6 Daytona from TTK (Still running by the way, but doesn't look so nice now)
Yacht-Master from Paul
Almost ordered from Natalee, but she went on a post rampage and kind of scared me off.. Those were the days.

I'm very interested to know how it is... Also, if it can take a Clark crystal. I know EVERYONE is going to say to stay away from the CHS, but honestly that's the only way I'd ever get another modern GMT. I had a older CHS that worked fine.. shouldn't have sold it.

Since you are talking Tropics.. DW says he installs a Tropic 19 (aftermarket) on the DW Daytonas, but it seems the correct one is a Tropic 21. Are these 2 interchangeable? I've seen that Clark says their 21 is rounded, but all pics I've seen of gen 21's look very angled not rounded.

Someone needs to rep the Rubber-B straps.. At $200+ they are a bit steep.

I emailed PT a few times about this, and as far as I can gather, this being called a V2 is a bit misleading. It has the same dial and solid bracelet as the previous one, so if this has no engraving it's more like a V1 than a V1.5 or whatever it had been called. V2 seems to be marketing, however, it's a darn nice Sub with gen-like bezel construction. Get a relume and gen insert and call it a day.

Gorgeous.. Very close to my own grail. Thanks for sharing.

Well.. I was expecting a dead hooker, but that seems much nicer. Is that one a misprint?

The way I see it AMEX is safer if you have it available.. PayPal would actually hold up my money... AMEX holds up theirs. We'll probably either get refunded, get a cheap $75 tablet from China stating it's a "comparable replacement" or they will just disappear.
-
Very nice, I love it.
-
Nice.. you don't happen to have a rep DW dial to sell do ya
-
Well, I ordered one.. put it on my AMEX, so I should be protected if it's bogus.
-
Nah.. I'm sure insurance has them covered.. however, they will probably have to screw over a few more customers to offset the hike in their insurance premium.
-
Yeah.. That probably cost more than an entire episode of Dr. Who (just for the record, I like Dr. Who).

See if you can find someone with a gen and try the gen bracelet to see if the holes line up.. Then source a gen for the ultimate WM9.
